If you have a valuable piece of clothing to get custom made.. DO NOT bring it to these people. They ruined a $300 white (Lab) coat I brought to have my name written on it. I confronted him (Reily) about it and they claimed they're not responsible for damaged clothing. They cut a piece of my coat to use as a back piece for my embroidery. So unprofessional. In addition, my name looks terrible. A little small (less than an inch) line mushed together right by my button. You can differentiate the letter j and the letter i. BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR CLOTHING! Terrible and they don't even honor their own policies. Here are the bullet points of what happened: 1. We provide them with shirts to be printed 2. We agree on a proof including colors 3. We recieve the shirts a week late, colors and print job is incorrect 4. We contact them, Ivan, the owner, admits to making the mistake because he wasn't there to oversee the job and apologizes but states that he will not be issuing a refund for the shirts or the job even 5. He offers to reprint them if we buy another 50 shirts and provide them but doesn't even offer a guarantee this time that they will be done correctly. 6. We ask for a refund on the printing charge which exceeds $1200 and he refuses stating that his policy doesn't cover it... interesting... this is their "policy" which is on their website: "We will honor reprints or refunds in the following cases: Misprint: There is an error in printing including, color, placement, dimensions, material flaw, or other defects" Maybe he doesn't know how to read? DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR We will be complainign to the BBB as well but BEWARE and WARNED these people are stoner crooks. read more

I selected two stars based on a previous experience with this establishment. I previously had Halloween T-shirts made with pre-designed work found online. I emailed the designs to an associate at custom village; he cropped the design, made some minor adjustments to the size, and printed my shirts the same day while I waited. Each shirt was under $35 dollars and no rush fee was applied. Fast forward, I am participating in a gift exchange, and the person I selected at random loves JT. I decided to get her a shirt made, and I thought of this establishment based on my prior experience: no appointment required, same day service, no rush fees, etc. Thus, I took a trip there to get a shirt made. I arrived and was greeted by an associate. The encounter started off on the right foot. I showed him the ideas that I found online. He did not disclose any fees or timing, but he insisted that I email the designs to him so that he could review. He reviewed the designs, and immediately brought up "copyright infringement" and that he did not feel comfortable redoing the designs. First of all, no one owns "Team Timberlake" so to put that on a shirt should not be an issue, and the other T-shirt designs are sold by multiple stores/shops everywhere. Second, my request was for one shirt not mass production. Third, none of the designs included company logos. I understood his viewpoint but disclosed to him that I previously had shirts made by their company with designs I found on the internet and did not have an issue. He proceeded to say that he would do the shirt, asked which design I wanted for sure, and when I needed it by. I responded "Friday, but I hoped to get it done same day," which is advertised on their website. That is when the foolery commenced. He said that in order for him to have his team to stop what they are doing to create JT shirts (the shade was real) - and mind you all I really needed was one - he would charge $36 for the shirt, $110 for them to redesign the shirt, and a rush fee at a total cost of approximately $200+. I chuckled and asked would that price apply to the "Team Timberlake" design as well, and he said yes. Overall, I wish the associate stayed true to his initial perspective of not feeling comfortable utilizing pre-designed work from the internet vs. concluding to these astronomical prices for a T-SHIRT, a T-SHIRT that he knew I wouldn't agree to. It would have taken all of 20 minutes to make a "Team Timberlake" shirt in cursive font. RI-DI-CU-LOUS!!! read more

I'd recently been to Ghana and purchased some Kente as a gift for my professor. I thought it would be dope to have the sash embroidered with her name. It turns out that embroidery is no easy task. You cant just go to any tailor to have it done. It was after many unsuccessful Google searches that I came upon Custom Village. It had a 4 star rating so I took a chance. I'm so glad that I did. Their pricing is reasonable and the turnaround is quick. I detailed my needs and got a quote right away. The sash came out perfectly and I'm sure my professor will be overjoyed. Elizabeth, Ivan, and Riley have just provided me with the best customer service experience yet! I needed a last-minute custom tank made for an upcoming event. At first it seemed like I was going to have to wait some time as in days and days; I had no image, no text, and no clear idea, but was able to get what I needed in less than 45 minutes. Riley helped me through the creative process by using Google and Illustrator and maybe PhotoShop. This included selecting an image, shaping the image, and choosing colors for the image. I was a little scattered and excited with my thoughts and he was pleasantly calm the entire time. He really helped me with his patience and genuine care about the design. Elizabeth cut out the graphics for the shirt and made sure I liked them before sending me to Ivan who placed the design on the shirt. Small talk with both Ivan and Elizabeth was really cool as they had good vibes about them even though it was obvious that they were extremely busy. Absolutely fantastic! Ivan and Caitlyn are absolute rock stars and were so friendly and helpful. Ivan took the time right when the shop was supposed to be closing to help me with the sizing and print my t shirts there and then ON THE SPOT!! The prices are so reasonable, especially given the customer service and design help (which let's face it - despite thinking ourselves the next Louis Vuitton all need some help with!). The tshirts came out fantastic - the design contained Jamaican flag colours which printed super bright and the lettering was very clear, absolutely no difference with a high quality shirt I'd pay good money for in the store (I'd actually vouch for them being even better :) ). I let clear misalignment and poor positioning slide a few times, however, upon my last visit, they messed up once again. The alignment was clearly off and did not match the mock up they sent me. In addition to that, they became extremely rude and confrontational after being called out on their mistakes. If you want something done right, don't go to Custom Village. TERRIBLE! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS! After seeing some positive reviews, I felt comfortable giving them an expensive, brand new backpack to embroider with a logo. Huge mistake. I would show a photo of the embroidered logo and backpack, but for company privacy, I won't post. The man working there when I picked up my bag was AWFUL. When I got the bag and looked at the embroidered logo, right away I noticed that the bottoms of the "M" were uneven, embroidery throughout the logo was loose (sort of like had been rubbed and frayed, loose loops), and the "G" was totally distorted. Then when I looked at the bag as a whole vs. looking at the logo itself up-close, I noticed the logo is placed crooked on the bag! When I pointed this out to the guy working there, he said I am only noticing this because I "looked at the bag for too long". I literally looked at the logo close-up for maybe 30 seconds as we discussed the imperfections then put it down on the counter to look at it as a whole for 2 seconds before I noticed it was crooked! I told the guy this is a problem, it's clearly crooked (there's a zipper (straight line)) right below where the logo was placed - it's very obvious. He then tried to give me a lesson about clothing manufacturing (without knowing my extensive experience in the business!) and said that since I didn't notice the flaws right away, it's a "pass"! I am not sure what sort of quality control he is familiar with, but that's not correct. He fully agreed that there are problems with the embroidery, but his point was that since I didn't notice it quick enough, it's ok?! I noticed the flaws instantly!!! The man requested I write a bad review so he can write a retort, so I can't wait to see his response here. The expensive gift I wanted to give is now completely ruined and this man has the nerve to say it's "a pass" despite the extensive flaws!! DO NOT GO HERE! AVOID THE TERRIBLE QUALITY AND AVOID AN ARGUMENT WITH A DELUSIONAL EMPLOYEE! I should also add that he told me that flaws are common with embroidery, I am aware of that, but then he should have either fixed those flaws or someone should have called me prior to starting the job and told me that they can't do it right vs. ruining a $600 brand new bag. If you know a job can't be done properly, don't do it!!! The guy recommend I go to various embroidery shops in the city and see if anyone can do a better job than they did. I originally sourced Carl's printshop and was disappointed to find out they relocated to Brooklyn and don't do individual orders. But they were kind enough to refer me to Custom Village as I was already in Midtown. I walked right in and had the whole team jump in and help me pick up the perfect fonts. It was such a fun experience and the final product turned out so great! My boyfriend was feeling pani that day but when he saw his gift, he was all over it! Gets the job completed, sure. Customer service, not applicable. While I provided a slightly different project which was not typical, it seemed to be one very capable of the shop and nothing was guaranteed which is understood. While the printing did work, the shop took little to no care to place the lettering centered and then explained that it shifted. Is this a real explanation? Staff kinda threw their arms up and stated there really isn't much they can do. How about taking care and 30 more seconds to align lettering straight to ensure that things aren't crooked. Lackluster attitude, I will definitely not be using this company for anything in the future and recommend you seek another provider as well. read more

I showed up with my three items + illustrator files and they were quick to accommodate, print out the Graphic transfers and even had me visually confirm they were applying them the way I wanted. I am very disappointed in my experience after RECENT visits and their new management. They are overprice, rude and inconsiderate. My friends and I used to go all the time to get jerseys custom printed. For years. The past two visits have been terrible for us. A friend went a few weeks ago, right when management changed, and after detailing EXACTLY what he wanted MULTIPLE times they printed the complete wrong thing on his shirt. They then told him they couldn't take it off and instead tried to print over it, and didn't even offer him a refund or discount. I went back to print some more gear before an upcoming race (think the last time was just a flook), and I noticed they took down their price sheet. I got two small prints on a shirt/bottom. Typically this would be about $10-12 per print, so about $25. I noticed I was charged $45.70. Thinking this was a bit much I wanted to clarify, I called the store (about 5 times... no one answered.. left a voicemail, then called again and got the manager on the phone) and asked about their prices. They told me new management is there and prints are 21 dollars. Me: Yes I understand, I just was curious how much the prints were. I only had two small prints. How much was each print? Him: Well management changed. Me: Right, but your pricing sheet is down. Usually prints are 10-12 dollars. And i only got 2 small prints and was charged 45, so i was just curious the break down. Him: Well its 21 dollars now minimum for premium processing since we have new management. Me: Oh okay .When did management change? I just came 2 weeks ago and things were the old prices Him: Listen I dont understand what your end game is here... If you can't pay 21 dollars for us to do a print for you then thats your problem. I have no problem loosing you as a client. ME:... WOAH . I just wanted to know when management changed. Him: three weeks ago Me: oh okay him: click. I will never go back there again. And i will never recommend them. And i will tell my current friends who go there to find a new place. Learn proper customer service and how to be kind, or don't own your own business. Quite possibly the most incompetent group of human beings I've ever encountered. They put all your instructions on post-it notes and then don't even bother looking at them. I came in with 5 shirts needing embroidery (it was a rush job, but they assured me they could do it) and I ended up walking away with 2 and neither of them were correct. The other three were either eaten by their machine or the embroidery was completely incorrect and not usable. I repeated the instructions multiple times in person, sent them via email, then printed out the email to give to them, and then wrote the instructions out explicitly on a post-it note (which seemed to be the only thing they'd look at when doing the embroidery) and they still failed to do it correctly. On one of the logos they were supposed to embroider, they just typed it out in a font they thought "looked close" to the font of the logo. Hands down the worst experience and most incompetent, disorganized employees I've ever dealt with. I was promised a refund in person, but wasn't able to handle it at the moment because I had to sprint to ship out the shirts on time, which they were late getting me. Now they won't return my calls. Take your business elsewhere if you want something done right/well. read more

I came in with an idea that I had in mind for t-shirts for a friend's bachelor party, but no definitive design. That's where Ivan stepped in. He is extremely creative and drastically improved upon my design (as per my request). Prior to coming in, I did my due diligence, comparing prices between a few different printing shops. I found Custom Village's prices far better than other companies and they are also very up front about what the exact cost will be. The shirts came out awesome. The quality was very high - they even use American Apparel shirts for printing on! I saved the shirt after the bachelor party weekend and have worn it since. Once again, Yelp came to the rescue. I needed to get 3 tanks printed, and couldn't be more happier with Ivan & team. Incredibly fast service, and friendly staff. You have to call in before so they'll let you up (office is on a shared floor type of thing). It's very affordable, and every time I look at the tanks I got, it puts a smile on my face. It's exactly how I pictured them to be. My order wasn't that big, so I was in and out within ~40 mins. For bigger orders, you'll prob have to come in for the design, then come back a different day for the pick up. Overall quick process, great product, friendly staff...
