I took my 70 chevelle to Mac on Mon Dec. 9th for an estimate to recover my seats doors and dash. Talked came to an agreement on price made plans for me to drop off my seats and doors and dash pad on fri the 13th 8:30 am as planned so the "foamers" could pick it up said they'd have it ready by tues. Hed have them covered and done in 10days to 2 weeks. When I showed up he acts like he doesn't know why I brought it on fri since the foamers didnt pu on fri they'd get em on mon.? First "misunderstanding" then he tells me the price didnt include the dash pad which we discussed in detail so that'll be another $150. Second missunderstanding. So, I wait til after Christmas to inquire on status and he tells me hes nearly done, be a couple more days he'll call me. I wait and wait and after another week I call again and he tells me the dash pad is ready and hes almost done with seats. This is over three weeks in so I go over the next day to see the progress and to my surprise, nothing is done they've just started removing old upholstery from seats and doors haven't been touched. Third misunderstanding. I must've not been there for any of these conversations. Hes not there although he told me to come over to get some pics for my record of the restore. Fourth misunderstanding. Funny, any way this was a thurs so Mon morn I go back and I find that Mac is doing the foam not the "foamers" fifth misunderstanding. 4weeks into a two week job. Finally got my stuff back after nearly 6 wks. No apologies for the delays and the lies about well, nearly everything. He also told me he would make new door panels instead of recovering old ones yet I get back recovered old panels cause he didnt have my car there to fit new panels. Never said a word about needing car there. Sixth misunderstanding. I asked couldn't you use the old panels as templates and he says no because he cant make the slots for the clips. Charged me the same. He took every shortcut he could including using pieces of old upholstery to cover rear bench. It was gold orig now black, who does that. Also put the orig gold trim back onto headrest and the lever to lower headrest. Gold on black. I had to remove and paint them myself. At least the part on rear bench was hidden from view but still, I paid for new custom upholstery and basically he ordered seat skins added red piping and called it custom. Why I asked him to do anything else is my own fault but I did and three and a half weeks later he still hasn't done a thing. Again claiming that I am at fault because I was supposed to bring my car back for something that neither of us know. A 1 day headliner install took a week and he got spray adhesive all over my tint on rear window as well as the quarter trim and even outside on driver side rear fender.....How and why he didnt clean up is so very unprofessional. I'm going to have to replace the tint cause it's not cleaning off. His work looks good but he hides alot of sins when he can and if not it was your fault somehow. So a 2 week turn around took a total of 7. Again, no apologies no valid reasons no discount. I've given him every opportunity to do the right thing and NADA. The console I asked to be built, I gave up on. No more than 2 to 3 days. Said he'd call when it was ready. Three weeks later I call to see what's the holdup and he tells me it's my fault yet again because i didnt bring my car back in. I've witnessed other cust there complaing about delays or mistakes.
