I've waited awhile before posting this review but the chair has continued to get worse. Took a chair to this place to fix the springs, replace seat foam and reupholster the chair. When we went to pickup the chair, staples were showing, fabric lines didn't match, seams were separating. Owner said they'd make it right. Went back again, it looked better so we took it home. Then we sat on the chair. They didn't fix the springs and didn't replace the seat foam. Called them to discuss and they wanted another $150 to do the work that was included in the original quote. My 65 Chevy C10 bench seat had an older upholstery job in blue. I wanted to change up the main colors in the cab to black. I had Rufino look at my seat and i told him I wanted black leather with white houndstooth where you sit. I thought I explained throughly the width of the main panel. When I came in to do the job his technicians took my seat out and I drove away on a milk crate for a temporary seat. A couple days later I was told it was done. Upon inspection the middle panel was only 8 inches wide. It was supposed to be 14 inches wide giving it more of a bucket seat area for sitting. His response was that this was a classic design and its perfect. Maybe it was perfect for him but it was not what I wanted and referred to my drawing. He said he'll redo it. But here's the kicker he got very brusque and said it would be four weeks before he could get to it. Ok, I dont like it but we came to terms. 4 weeks later I came back for the redo. His guys took my seat out again. This time he made me wait a week before it was ready...his way of doing the job begrudgingly. However the seat was done perfectly this time. I have to say the craftsmanship is excellent and the prices are not outlandish. Just be very specific with what you want done. I didnt deduct any stars for the problems I encountered since in the end I got what I wanted! read more

I wouldn't recommend going here. Unfortunately, they broke our back seat which we ended up just fixing it ourself as best we could, they were kind enough to buy the new part but it's more time and money fixing what they broke. We have missing bolts and broken pieces of our seat structure. We have scratches along the interior of our car now from them removing and installing the seats. They didn't properly sow the seats so now I have tags hanging off. We are highly disappointed in the full trusted price we paid vs the result we were returned. read more

Service: 10/10 Speed: 10/10 Price: 10/10 Quality: 10/10 I was selling my car within a matter of days to one of the "sell your car online" dealers, and needed some cracks in the upholstery repaired before they came to pick up the car. I didn't want them to devalue the car based on these interior blemishes, so I called around and received multiple quotes for a fast turnaround. I even took the car to a few other highly rated upholstery places in the Murrieta and Temecula area and got various opinions about the cost/benefit of repairing the damage. It looks like I was going to pay hundreds of dollars to get the two problem-areas fixed, so I debated not doing it at all. I spoke to Rufino and got a completely different vibe. That confident, no bull****, here's-the-facts vibe you get from someone that really knows their stuff. I sent the pictures over, and got a price that was on the lower end of the quote spectrum. I saw the ratings on Yelp so I figured the work would be good, but based off the other quotes I got in the area, I fully expected he would raise the price when he actually saw it in-person. I drive down at 10:00am and Rufino takes a look, and simply says "Okay no problem I'll have it done later this afternoon." 3.5 hours later, I get a call that the car is ready. I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm still thinking about those higher quotes and the comments from other professionals. Like: "oh, this part of the door can be problematic it might be welded, I don't know until I take it apart" and "well we have to match the material and there's many color blacks so I may have to order it" and all the usual things you would expect to hear. So when I think about all of that and see my car outside, I'm expecting a quick patch job, something that will get the job done and maybe fool the untrained eye, get what you pay for right? Nope... some of the best work I've ever seen. I can say with all honesty that it's better than it was new. Perfect match to the material, and even the red stitching was spot-on. On top of that, Rufino actually knocked an additional few bucks off the price!! Needless to say, I am beyond satisfied. I won't say what I paid but it was much less than the other highly rated guys in the area AND an incredible result. How often do you get that? Check out the before and after. Amazing! I have a 18-year-old leather top coffee table and side table and reached out to see if they could come close to matching and replacing the leather. First they completed the job in less than a week! I have an Expedition with fabric seats. The passenger seat had a cigarette burn hole right in the center when I bought the truck. I was able to order the material online and brought it to G & M to do the repair. They removed the entire seat bottom from stitch to stitch and replaced it with the new material. I've brought in a few of my pre-owned cars to G&M, and the work has always been pretty solid. I've mostly brought in cars that have ripped seat edges and just needed to be restitched... but inside you'll notice them working on everything from convertible tops to interiors of classic cars and so on. Turnaround has typically been about a day or two for restitching but can be close to four or five days if they need to order fabric to match a seat or something. That being said, my only issue has been with a Kia Forte that had a ripped driver seat and they didn't seem to have the matching fabric for it in their catalog. He tried to convince me to order one that was similar for a Hyundai, but unfortunately the two fabrics did not match at all! Needless to say, I had to take that car to another nearby shop to replace it with a factory seat, for the same price basically. Other than that, no other hiccups and I'll still continue to have G&M as my go-to upholstery shop. read more

I brought in a classic car to have the seats reupholstered and a convertible top replaced. A major issue with them is communication. I had requested 2 tone leather seats and they installed them backwards. The darker color was in the inside of the seats instead of the outer trim. I did not have the heart to tell them it was wrong because they looked great. The repair of the convertible top was a disaster. When I picked the car up it they had problems closing the top because they did not know how to adjust the clamps that locks the top. Also the top leaked because there were large gaps between the top and the windows. You could see the light coming through. They told me I needed to order new rubber gaskets. Why did they not order them? Any way, I ordered them and they installed it with the same results. After bringing it back several times I gave up with the problem never resolved. I never drive the car in the rain, so the only issue I have is when I wash the car. Recommendation: Good quality on upholstery repair but make sure you have everything in writing. Do not use for convertible top replacement. read more

I don't bother to write many Yelp reviews but my experience with G&M compelled me to do so. They did a FANTASTIC job, more than I paid for, and this is a true authentic local family business that deserves a ton of local support. (note: my profile says Seattle but I also spend time in Temecula, this is a Temecula review). My story is that I had 2 old big leather lounge chairs and an ottoman where the piping was destroyed all over, one arm had split leather, and one cushion was looking old. They offered a fair price (about $750- the replacement cost of the the leather chairs and ottoman was probably $4-5K) to fix all 3. They got it done in a week so I could have my furniture back for the holidays. They stayed late so I could pick it up after work. And when I got there, I found they not only fixed what I had asked, they also replaced several other panels of the lounge chairs and cushions with new leather and beautiful stitching, just because they thought it needed it and wanted it to look better. They did not charge me for the extra material or service. This is an old-school, hard working and honest family business that I will bring all upholstery work to in the future and highly recommend. read more

Earlier this year G&M Upholstery repaired a sofa for me that had seat springs failing. The crew at G&M picked up and delivered the sofa for a very reasonable price as well as a very competitive repair cost. But that was only the beginning since after a couple of weeks sitting on the sofa I was not happy with the firmness of the seat. G&M gladly picked up the sofa a second time repairing it once again by exchanging softer seat cushion foam to satisfy their customer at no additional cost for either the repair or the pickup and delivery. They had suggested that pleasing the customer was their goal and they certainly made that become a reality. This week I took by wife's Honda CRV to have the arm rests repaired and while G&M didn't have to pick up and deliver they did deliver exceptional workmanship bringing the arm rests back to their original appearance. Took my jeep in to get a simple zipper replacement for back window, wow what a MISTAKE. First they removed one of the 2 zippers it comes with, then stapled the zipper so I could no longer take off rear window. Returned it to resolve issue. Another HUGE mistake. They took off the replacement zipper, put a cheaper one on and sealed the other side so I still cannot remove rear window. PLUS there are holes in canvas from changing zipper out, the zipper is too long and completely jacks up rear window. Window looks completely ghetto now. Totally uneven, there is hole where zipper doesn't close all the way and rear plastic is folding over itself from the unevenness of jacked up zipper. The male assisting me made a comment, " never again" meaning replacing zippers on a jeep. I told him if they could not do this simple job, I wish I was told before they completely jacked up my top. If I could give this place a negative star I would. Avoid this place if at all possible. I have to purchase a completely whole new top due to their incompetence.
