In the second email, he stated they would not negotiate price or timeline, called me a poor fit, and canceled my proposal in their system -- all without any constructive dialogue. I have no doubt their crew may do solid installation work. But the sales/customer experience is the first impression of how a company will handle problems. If asking questions before signing a contract leads to this kind of response, I'm not confident they'd handle a warranty issue or installation concern any better. I chose to work with a different company. Recommend doing the same if you value being treated like a customer. ============July 2026 - updated after the owner responded====== The business owner is either naivly misinformed or wants to hide facts. They are wrong and I have attached all proof for readers to judge for themselves I left this review hoping the owner would reach out, understand what happened, and use it as constructive feedback. Instead, the response doubled down without verifying the facts. Daniel, with respect -- you were either misguided or too quick to take your team's side without doing your homework. Either way, dismissing a customer's experience without investigation is not customer-first service, and that is a miss. To be fair -- response times were prompt. I just wish the responses had also been courteous and professional. Here is what actually happened: 1. I asked to reduce the scope of work to reduce the price. That is not asking for a discount. Those are two different things. Owner claimes I asked for discount. 2. I asked basic questions any homeowner should ask -- can I see your COI, and will you respond within 15 days if something goes wrong after installation. 3. Instead of answers, the first response mocked me for doing research. The second canceled the proposal for "asking too much." 4. One of my asks was simply: if someone gets injured on my roof during installation, I should not be held liable. That is not unreasonable. That is common sense. Screenshots are attached. I have nothing to hide. I genuinely hope other customers have a smoother experience -- but mine fell short, and I think that is worth knowing before you sign.

While the installers were efficient and clearly knowledgeable about their work, their English was limited. Overall, our experience was wonderful, and I would definitely choose them again.

There is a fine line, on one side great sales folks are eager to serve you and showcase confidence with honesty and integrity; on the other side you will find plenty of sales folks who are not genuinely concerned about the customer when they know in their soul they are ripping them off. Steve is the former. Great job closing the deal. Emerson, Nelson and Carlos were the men that worked on my house. They arrived on time, were very methodical with their work, most importantly cleaned up the area after the job was done. Believe it or not the demo of the wall and installation of the new cabinets took less than a week! And once countertops were installed by installer they were able to tile the backsplash, replumb the sink, and install hardware in one day. I'd gladly use Rise again for any of my remodeling needs.

Detail: We reviewed four companies in the Austin area for a fence extension and automated gate for security purposes. Absolute Fence & Gate were outstanding to work with: they came in cheaper than all other alternatives, were the most responsive with clear communication, and were very knowledgable about the options within our space. Amanda was extremely responsive and helped us scope out our initial ask to coordinate an onsite bid walk quickly and helped sort out billing. Travis helped develop our initial concept for a gate into an efficient, turn-key solution that would abide by local codes and fit within our budget. After clarifying our scope, the project was completed at a lightning pace. They staggered the required demo of our old fence until the day they'd be able to erect the fencing to minimize the amount of time our house was exposed to the street. The work crews were very professional and Travis and his team clearly explained the scope each day and progress updates. In addition, Cade and the gate operator crew were outstanding. They set up the motor and made sure all items were functional tested. They did a terrific job commissioning the equipment and explaining how to use it. The commissioning team also noted that our gate operator had a minor issue and contacted the manufacturer for a same-day under warranty solution. The level of service was outstanding, and I was very pleased to have a total turnkey solution. During the construction, Travis would check in with the teams and ensure quality work which resulted in zero punch items at final walk. Travis even performed a final QA check on the operator to make sure operation was up to their quality standard. Every team member was very knowledgeable and professional. They provided excellent advice and suggestions and helped us craft our gate idea into a solution with a terrific product!

Craig Jolicoeur was so responsive, thoughtful and meticulous that you'd think it was his own fence that was going up. He didn't waste my time like others did with endless and irrelevant questions. He was straight to the point, efficient, and always friendly. The fence and gate look terrific and my friends are delighted. Good value, too. While Absolute Fence didn't submit the cheapest quote, I knew I was getting quality materials and finish for a great price.

So I'm either in the 35% of their non-responses or I'm an outlier in their turnaround timeframe. I wish I had better things to say since this is an unfortunate lone wolf one star rating in a sea of five stars for this company, but "real people, real reviews" is the rule.

Since then the roof has held up great! Last week I started seeing a leak on the outside of my house. I called them up and the owner sent someone out the same day just to rule anything out. When they came out we both agreed that it didn't look like there was anything wrong with the roof, but that didn't stop them for doing their best to stop it from leaking they added some caulking around some holes in the stucco and masonry and fixed up some of the flashing near the leak. After that, it was still leaking, but Brad, the owner, was kind enough to come out again, even though it had NOTHING to do with the roof just to double-check on me and make sure that I was doing well. At the end of the day, they took off a side gutter and found a hole in the wall that the builders had left from when the house was built. Again, STILL not roof related, but they treated me like family and helped me as if it were and fixed it up for me. Literally cannot say enough good things about WDR! I've never found a company that is this helpful or this responsive.

For prospective customers reading this, here is the verified context: Fraudulently advertising yourselves as a "James Hardie Elite Preferred Contractor" to secure the job, only to systemically violate the manufacturer's strict installation guidelines, is not a "punch-list" oversight--it is deceptive marketing and a material breach of contract. Puncturing an internal PVC plumbing pipe, illegally wrapping it in black duct tape, and immediately hiding it behind the new siding is not a 'punch-list' item - it is active fraudulent concealment. The 'Fraudulent' Financing: We authorized the payment because they claimed to follow actively concealed the duct-taped plumbing. Inducing a customer to authorize a loan by hiding severe damage is the legal definition of fraudulent concealment. Contradictory Public Statements & The BBB Complaint: JP Exteriors is using public platforms to feign cooperation. On our active BBB complaint, they claim they are waiting for our independent inspection report before taking action. However, their own written record proves they inspected the property themselves on June 11th and issued a superficial patching offer on June 22nd. The very next day, they explicitly stated in writing they were not willing to expand their scope to a full replacement, formally refusing to cure the hidden defects before our third-party inspection was even conducted on June 24th. The 42-page independent inspection report, which we received on June 29, definitively confirms that the widespread, concealed code violations and structural deficiencies cannot be resolved through superficial patching. The report details systemic failures, including improperly installed weather-resistant barriers, missing flashings, overdriven fasteners, damaged boards, unsealed wall penetrations, and an internal PVC plumbing pipe that was punctured by a fastener and actively concealed with black duct tape. The Manufacturer's Involvement: James Hardie is indeed involved, to the extent that the manufacturer offered to provide free replacement materials to JP Exteriors so they could execute a proper rework. JP Exteriors leadership actively refused this offer. We stand entirely by our documented evidence, our 42-page forensic inspection report, and our active fraud dispute with the Texas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.
