This was the closest Office Depot nearest to where we'd had lunch…read more It's on the north side of Okeechobee. And it is set back from the main road with a huge parking lot shared with Burlington and Office Depot, et al. I needed some shipping labels and had a rewards coupon I needed to use, so here we came. The store is large. The front part is taken up with the print and copy section. There is only a small regular checkout register section. Aisles are fairly well marked. They had a big sign advertising a sale "clear the shelves", but there wasn't much on the clearance table or in the bins. And nothing at all that appealed. Anything paper including labels have jumped in price dramatically. I wound up getting some smaller than needed size labels that I'll put together -- rather than spend $30 on large quantities not needed. Glad to know this store is here, however, should I be in this area of town again.

I'm standing in line at Customer Service, directly underneath a giant sign that says CUSTOMER…read moreSERVICE / RETURNS. Seems pretty straightforward. I'm just returning an item. One person in front of me. I wait patiently. Finally, it's my turn. The lady behind the counter tells me, "You have to go around to the cashier and stand in that line." Okay... fine. Now! I have three people in front of me waiting for a cashier. So I walk around and get into Line #2, because apparently returning something now requires completing a side quest. I wait again. Then the SAME lady (avoiding to give her name) at Customer Service, takes the person in front of me, she finishes with them, and then looks at me and says, "I can help you now." Oh, NOW you can help me? No thanks. I've already completed two lines, burned half my afternoon, and earned enough points to unlock another cashier. So I tell her, "I'll let this cashier help me. You've already wasted enough of my time." As I'm leaving, I give her my best stern voice: "THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICES." I walk out... And apparently my internal monologue decided it was no longer internal: "ASSWIPE!" Not my finest customer-service moment, but why make me wait in two lines when you have a big sign that says customer service and then tell me to over there for line two? But seriously... THAT'S A STAPLES PROBLEM. I'm shopping at Amazon.

In the dying world that is Print media, I wonder how Sir Speedy can survive. No self-serve printing…read morestation? It's literally an income-generating machine that requires minimal upkeep. Even worse, there is A 6.50 minimum charge for any printing. I was trying to print a 20 page contract but even that was considered "too small" and beneath them. And truthfully, none of this would have been a big issue if all of this was explained to me by a nice staff member. Instead, of receiving a hello or a simple "How can I help you" I received an apathetic "what do you want?" from a literal mouth-breather. I promise you this is not an insult. This man literally was a mouth breather. Since his blank stare and literal mouth-breathing seemed of little use to either me or him, I asked if a self-serve station was available and the "customer service" person looked at me as if I were the crazy one. He then informed me that if I wanted to do business there I had to print 65 pages or more. Overall, I highly recommend this place to those who want to accomplish three goals: 1. See a real live Mouth breather! 2. Fulfill your masochistic fantasy of being talk down! 3. Laugh at the dying form of print media.
