The area for the painting was kinda small. I noticed that my friend brought all the food, drinks & paper goods. The actual painting was fun- everyone did their own thing. Personally, I thought we would get more instruction. The easels were set up with different color paint nearby & we choose our size canvas. We did have a picture to work with. To inspire us. Final thought- I did enjoy the experience, however I'm not completely sure I would do it again.

We got to the front desk and was welcomed by one of the workers that checked to see if our nane were on the list, after that we were welcomed by Sara she was our teacher for the day and Kayla her assistant. They were both very helpful when help was needed. Sara made sure that everybody was having a good time. Painting time: We started to paint around 4:10pm (instead of 4pm) im sure it was because there were a group that were a little late. It was kinda annoying since some of us were early and waiting to paint. Buttt...the painting process was really nice because Sara made sure to tell the instructions very slowly and repeated them afterwards if you needed help. And they also took breaks where if you needed to catch up you could and also get more help. Ohh I almost forgot that during our first break, Kayla had great shots for us, I dont remember the nane but it was something about peaches and it wassssssss delicioussss. Our husbands made it a guys night and dropped us off which was a great idea since their parking lot is small and we went on a Saturday night. We did our research and found that you could bring snacks and beverages. So we stocked up on wine, cheese and crackers. Something light to munch on while painting. Our class was pretty full and the instructor had a mic so everyone could hear. She even would walk around the room to help with any questions and offer some tips. She was very good at instructing and I thought everyone's painting turned out great! It was very interesting to see that we all painted the same concept yet they were all so unique and pretty. The class last about 2 hours. The staff gathers your groups together so they can take a photo of you with your masterpiece. This was such a fun and different girls night out option over the usual "let's go to a bar for happy hour". They offer lots of classes throughout the week and even multiple classes in one day. The studio is fairly large with high ceilings. They provide all the supplies for you to paint and they give you an apron to wear but be sure to wear clothing that you don't mind getting paint on. One of us four got a little paint on their outfit.

I absolutely cannot get enough of Sip and Paint with Nicole! From set up, to tear down, Nicole…read more(and her lovely assistant(s)) do it all with such ease. I've now done 2 events with Splash Art Class and they were both such wonderful experiences: fun, engaging, relaxing, an all around good time. The events I attended were at a Country Club, however she travels wherever you may need her: work event, bridal shower/bachelorette party, girls night and even kids events! Long story short, I have some small crafting background, but nothing compares to how well Nicole can paint. She grew up around art and it is so evident that she is passionate about art itself and teaching others too. Every event we start off the first few steps of painting and I lose hope for my picture turning out as it should, but in the end I LOVE the final results. I stumbled upon Wood Paper Glass on Google when searching for "stained glass classes near me", and I'm so happy I did! Terri was a fantastic teacher! We took the beginners class with her. She was patient, provided guidance every bit of the way and had a wonderful personality. I think I have found a new hobby and creative outlet thanks to her. They offer more than just beginner stained glass classes (intermediate level classes with more sessions are available), they also offer wood crafting, mosaics and crafts for kids as well. The lady in charge made sure everyone had what they needed and made it easy to do. I highly recommend this place for their art classes and birthday party packages. We were part of a party with 20 5 and 6 year olds and they all enjoyed it.

We happened on this art center a bit by accident as I saw a notice about it in the shiny sheet…read morewhile visiting palm beach. So we made the detour to this historic Art Deco building to see what their gallery had to offer. The building was a WPA project during the depression. It was built in 1939. After many years as a military building, and some years in disrepair, it became an arts school in the the late 80's. It's gone through renovations and expansions. It is now an arts education school with many classes for all ages and in the summer a lot of workshops, etc., for kids from young ages through teens. Attached to the school was a small one room art gallery with an exhibit highlighting mainly clay pieces done by students and teachers. Each ceramic piece was marked with a price and displayed the name (s) of the artist and the teacher's name. Exhibitions change periodically. There was no charge to enter, but donations are accepted. We couldn't see the other (creative) studios as entry was restricted. More interesting to me was their sculpture garden outside with a few appealing items and the manicured grounds that faced the street. They've hosted an art festival for the last few years (in December) outside on these grounds.

My daughter (13) signed up for a teen art camp with the Armory. She came home after the first day…read morefeeling very disappointed as it did not seem there was enough planned for them. For a jewelry making task, they were given wire, string, and seashells, and were simply told to wrap wire around the shells tie it to the string for a necklace. They were shown an example, but never shown how to do it, and lacked tools. They spent a good bit of time on their phones when they had nothing to do, and at one point, another child in the group had to ask if they could all have some beads to string because they literally weren't doing anything. Needless to say, I called the director, but was fed a bunch of excuses such as "it won't be the same as last year, because we don't have that same studio to use." Yet, she assured me she would make sure there were more things for them to do the next day. I told my daughter to try it out again on Tuesday, but to call me at lunch if it felt as underwhelming as the previous day. Sure enough, I received the phone call. In their jewelry class, they were learning how to make seed bead flowers... but here is the catch... she told them to look up the method on their phones to learn!!! Geez, I could do that at home for a lot cheaper than I paid for this camp! I went and picked my daughter up where I was 'greeted' by the camp director (Jeanie, not sure on spelling?) telling me that it was my fault that one of the camp instructors quit because of my concerned phone call, and now she only has one instructor, and it's all because of me. Went on to say that he said he was tired of dealing with armory parents like myself. To me, this is just an omission of guilt, I guess I'm not the only parent with concerns??? She continued on with her blame rampage saying that my daughter brought a bad attitude to camp with her, and was refusing to do things. That's when I demanded to speak with the teacher who confirmed what I already knew, my daughter was not negative, and did participate in the activities (as poorly planned out as they were for a group of 13-17 year olds). I've given the Armory many chances, but they just can't seem to get it together. The last camp she attended there a few summers ago, she came home upset with how mean she saw the director treating instructors and helpers... interestingly enough that director was fired by week's end. On top of that, the last 2 classes we signed her up for were cancelled due to another instructor quitting and lack of enrollment. It's pretty sad, my daughter loves art and we have heard this place was so wonderful back in its prime.
