The idea was to hire someone to make me 2 'pizza style bags' to put my displays inside, to protect them from falling, from rain, and easy to transport to all my events. I gave him a photo link of one example. I brought my containers, so he can get the correct measurements, and he gave me two quotes (once by phone, and once in person) both came out the same amount. I bought the material, enough to make 2 bags. I also told him I wanted the scraps back. I told him, I wanted like an envelope style closures, with velcro (just like the sample photo). It's really self-explanatory. I told him, that way, I can just SLIDE my display in, or out then close the bag. It's THAT SIMPLE. He also told me, he'll call me, when they're ready, and I marked my calendar, to remind myself. I signed a Purchase Order, but I didn't get a copy.
The day has come, and I waited all day for the phone call, finally, by 2:45PM, I no longer can't wait, I have an event on a Saturday, and I NEEDED my new bags! He didn't answer the phone, I left a message. A few minutes later, I made a 2nd call. He said, he doesn't answer Private numbers. Fine, I go for that, but WHY DIDN'T HE CALL ME BACK, when I left him my number, or even call me back, when it WAS READY, I could have come earlier, but now he was about to leave 3PM, and because I work @ home, I'm not 'presentable' to just hop in my car & go! Who does that? So, to make it easier for him, I sent my husband to do that, even though he was washing the car, to DROP WHAT HE'S DOING, "HE'S WAITING FOR YOU!"
He came back, with a NEW STYLE, of bag, and NO SCRAPS AND, without calling me first, Gordon also ADDED $10 MORE because' there's more work'? Yes, I understand, he had to hire Russian girls, who have problem understanding what I wanted, to do his work, but I HIRED HIM to do MY WORK, so I didn't have to! I made it simpler for him, providing him photo, measurements, fabric. What else does he NEED? That's more than most people bring when they go to places like that. (He even drew it on my PO, exactly how I wanted it). A 7 years old can understand!
My display now is like they're being wrapped in diapers, instead of sliding them in/out, like a PIZZA. Velcro on 3 sides, instead of ONE, 'like an envelope' that you just close the FLAP, done!
Once, again, today, my husband went back to pick up the scraps, and Gordon is trying to explain to him again, 'they were RUSSIANS AND HAVE PROBLEM UNDERSTANDING' or communicating what needs to be done! There's drawing on the wall, for them, but they have NO CLUE what I wanted! With that, we're being charged $10 MORE!?!
Then, why didn't you hire someone who CAN SPEAK ENGLISH very well, or do the job yourself? But, I'm not satisfied with the new bags!
