Sheressa is very easy to work with. She was available right away. I contacted other shops and some were not able to do the work until November. Sheressa told me she only takes the projects she can do quickly and does not allow herself to get over loaded. Wise woman. She set up an appointment for the following week. She was on time and brought samples of the colors I had told her we were interested in. She offered advice and insight into the fabrics that felt might work. And, she showed us some we did not see right away. In the end the choice was pretty easy and she took the chair to her shop. Holy cow, what do I even say about Sassafrassity and Sheressa? From start to finish this entire project has been smooth as butter and the results are beyond amazing. Sheressa is a fun person to talk to and more importantly she really knows her stuff from brands and manufacturers to all kinds of different techniques and ideas to bring things back to life. I put in her hands an old hope chest from my deceased mother that I have been carrying around with me forever. It's very special to me however it was in very rough shape. The before photo doesn't do justice to show just how much wear and damage there was. One leg was completely missing and there were a few deep cuts in the wood along with countless scratches and overall wear marks. It just looked old and tired. I don't know anything about vintage furniture so I basically said use your judgement and try to make it look like it just came off the factory floor. As you can see in the after photo she did just that. It's FLAWLESS there is not one thing wrong with it and it's beautiful and even now I still can't stop looking at when i'm near. They even rebuilt the missing leg to the point where you 90+% can't tell it's a replacement and you can only tell if you saw what it looked like before and know which leg it was. I'm sure my mom would be very happy with this. I had her pick up and deliver this item as well and she took care on both visits to be careful with my heirloom. Very reasonable pricing as well although I won't quote it because i'm sure it's location based and I don't want to give implied pricing for someone way out there. Seriously thank you so so much for everything and if I decide to make my other vintage furniture items look awesome I won't hesitate to call. I still have some imported 1940's German furniture from my grandfather however those are still "working" furniture items cause of children using them. Just wait till they're older though and you'll probably have 2 more pieces coming. In closing to whoever reads this, please give this woman some business she takes pride in her work and in the age of retail apocalypse this is the kind of person and business we want to stick around and service customers. read more

Sassafrassity fixes my wife's 50 year old broken and distressed dresser. It was damaged, the finish was pretty bad. The top drawer wouldn't even come out. I was ready to throw it away but my wife has such sentimental attachment to it. Sassafrassity fixed it for a very reasonable rate, including refinishing it to "like new" condition. This is a cool place! For unique refurnished vintage pieces. I love reuse repurpose and this is a store for it. I was driving by and I had to stop. Thankfully their little sign on side of street catch my eye, otherwise I almost missed this little cool gem. I didn't purchase anything (in a hurry) but I was sore tempted on many items (sign, pillow, small things, acrylic checker board, etc). I just haven't seen any of these pieces before in my estate sales, yard sales, auction hunting. I know if I need a gift I will be coming here. I dislike today's era of standard minimally made and typical plastic goods. This place is just not furniture. They also have cool local candles made by women, (supporting women causes?). There are so many cool things for the home. I wish I took photos to show you all. I just will have to revisit and support this local entrepreneur/vintage restorer. read more

My dad passed away a few years ago and he had two old tables that had seen better days. There were large heat marks and nobody wanted them. I searched for a vendor on craigslist who could put new life into them and Sassafrassity was to the rescue. They quoted a really good price and worked to get the tables perfect. About a year later, they still look great and we are very happy with the work they do. Although the location of the store was somewhat hard to find, I was glad that I did!
