We had one of Custom Comfort Air's technicians come out on 09/02/22 to give us a quote for repairs, our A/C unit was working extra hard and taking longer to cool than typical summers in the past. We also wanted to sign up for their maintenance program. The technician went up into the attic and gave us a $4500 quote for a coil replacement, to fix a leak and a Freon refill. He did not fix anything that day, but he did bust an insulated pipe from the A/C unit. I understand accidents happen. That evening, water was pouring through our ceiling in a steady stream and there was a pretty big puddle on our floor when we noticed it at almost midnight. We shut the A/C unit off, my husband found the pipe the water was coming from and patched it up. We called Custom Comfort Air Saturday and left a message. They called us back that day. Richard said he would send out a guy to fix it Tuesday morning (Monday was Labor Day) if the leak had been stopped. The same technician showed up to fix what he did and, since our A/C unit was still under warranty, it was going to cost us $2100 to fix what was needed instead of the original $4500 quote. This did not include the cost to fix the water damage he had caused. At this point, we had a piece of sheet rock about 1 foot long dangling from our ceiling. The technician didn't fix the ceiling, dry out the insulation... because he's an A/C guy. Richard was going to send a sheet rock guy to fix it. The man showed up, took pictures and said he would be in contact. He was supposed to come fix it sometime mid September, but never showed up. Well, it is now 10/10/22; well over a month since this has happened and our ceiling still has not been fixed and the water damage from the ceiling is spreading. At this point, my husband has taken 3 different days off from work so someone is home when the technician came to fix the pipe he busted and for the sheet rock people Richard "hired" to work on our ceiling. They never showed up. We found someone who does great sheet rock work and several recommendations and he gave us a quote. Well, Richard said he doesn't want to use him (it's our home his employee made a mess of). Richard said he would send someone else. On 10/07/22 (Over 1 month of dealing with this) a man called and said he was told to call us because we needed sheet rock work. When we asked who gave him our contact information, he had no idea, he just said someone told him to call us. I asked if he was from Custom Comfort and he said no. We told him no thank you. The complete lack of communication and professionalism with Custom Comfort Air, Nicole, Richard and the company is so frustrating and infuriating. The neglect for customers homes is ridiculous. The wet spot on the sheet rock has spread about 5-6 feet through the kitchen. WE ended up hiring the company we found originally; and he has taken care to dry out our insulation, replace the damaged insulation, spray against mold and mildew, fix the sheet rock and paint the ceiling. And we paid him out of our own pocket since we did not want to have mold spreading in our attic. I say all this because in the entire month that I have been watching the spread of the moisture, Richard and Nicole have given us the runaround and have avoided fixing their mistakes. And also, we found another company to fix our original problem with our A/C. They picked up the new coil, fixed the original leak and filled up with Freon for less than half of what Custom Comfort Air was going to charge us. Not only is Custom Comfort Air a company that is irresponsible with their mistakes and give people the runaround, but they are also gouging customers for their "services". I absolutely would NOT trust Custom Comfort Air with any of their services. Date of original damage to ceiling: 09/02/22 Still getting the runaround: 10/10/22 - they will not pay for the damages they caused, which we fixed and paid for out of our own pocket. Richard will not pay because it's not "His guy". None of "his guys" have shown up to do any of the work. read more

Met with Aaron on Tuesday. He looked at site and prepared a professional proposal.Based on his knowledge and custom comfort being in this area all those years I went with them. I chose the following Tuesday A.M. as the installation date. Aaron said it would take a half day which I couldn't believe. Moises and his team of techicians arrived bright and early and in a little over 3 hours cold air was blowing from the new system. A few days later Aaron came and inspected the new system and stopped the increased air flow noise. I am a happy customer. read more

Well it's even 4 months since another company come out and replaced the coils. It took them about 1hour and 30 min. So that 4500 quote would be 500 for coils and 4000 for 1.5 hours work. Sign me up I wish I could find a job that pays even half that hourly rate. Needless to say we won't call on them again. read more

This review is solely based on the customer service I received on the phone today. I called the business at 4:47 and Nicole answered. I asked to speak with a specific member from leadership who instructed my mom to tell me to call and ask for him. Nicole said he is unavailable. I asked if he will return later so I can call again since it was a time-sensitive subject. She ignored me and repeated that he is unavailable, then HUNG UP on me. I called back immediately and she did not pick up. This is the business' first line of communication? Yikes. If that's the case, imagine how much worse doing business with them could be. read more

I called Custom Comfort on Monday to request my summer tune-up. The next available appointment was in June, but they put me on the list for cancelations. I got a call the next day saying they had a cancelation and they could come out. The technicians, Colt and Sergio arrived promptly. They were both friendly and very knowledgeable. They were very thorough in explaining what was done and what I'll need in the future. I will request them again for any future a/c needs. read more

Johnny was "Johnny on the spot" during my regular service call. He spent 2 hrs making sure my A/C was working properly. My A/C had been cutting off and back on for a couple of weeks. We had Custom Comfort come for an A/C unit check as regular maintenance. Our house, and A/C unit are less than 2 years old. Most everything checked ok, but we were told that we needed the box around the unit in the attic needs to be rebuilt for $750, a media filter...BUT we needed a IAQ test (indoor air quality) to determine what filter is recommended, and with dogs, the super expensive UV filter might be the best. Then the tech, while nice and professional, shoved the Gold Membership down my throat - which I'm pretty sure he's instructed to do. I reached out to my brother, who is HVAC certified and runs his own business (I'm not in his service area) and let me know that everything I was being told was simply up selling their services. read more

Called Custom in a pinch from a referral due to my ac unit crashing after 15 years two days ago. Buddy said it was a great company and treated him right last year. I called and had a tech come and give me a quote. Almost a straight 100% price increase from my referrals price for same 3 ton unit replacement. I called two other HVAC companies, one from CONROE and they were both half the cost of what Custom quoted me for doing the same work. I feel like Custom tried taking advantage in the fact 1. I had no ac and it's beginning of summer. 2. My wife is pregnant and we are expecting this week. Bad business when you're double the cost and taking advantage of people. Other company came and temporarily got my ac running free of charge to bide me over for a week or two when he'll install my new ac. You won't catch me dead referring Custom Comfort Air to anyone. read more

We used Custom Comfort Air as they are the contractor that Costco refers, let me just say that I am not impressed. We had our system installed over 6 weeks ago and yet they cannot seem to make it to our house to balance the system and remove the humidity out of our house. The people that work for this company are extremely unprofessional from the lady that works in the office, scheduling appointments to the techs and salesmen that come to your house. Once again they were suppose to show up to our house today to fix the system yet when my husband told them its not the thermostat that is the problem its the humidity they decided to cancel the appointment and not show up without saying a word to us about it even though my husband took off work today for this. I've been using Custom Comfort Air for about 10 years when they installed my Trane unit. They did a great job with the installation. I've been having them come out twice per year since then and they have never treated me wrong. In fact, I had an a/c check this past spring and the tech found the capacitor/wires were burned. They informed me it was still under warranty. A one star Yelp posting below said they aren't members of the BBB. That's a lie. CCA has been members since October 2007 and have an A+ rating. It's so easy to look it up. Perhaps her one star rating is for another company. Either way, I highly recommend them if for nothing else to get a quote on a new system. read more

They charged me $95/lb of Freon R-410a to refill my system today. Freon 410a costs about $6/lb to purchase. Do the math, 12 lbs of Freon to charge a 3 ton unit should cost under $100, a bit more if you want to add some profit. They charged me over $1000. Like most customers, I did not know the cost of Freon before hand, but I sure know to ask now. And these are guys I've used for 14 yrs. Use them at your own risk and financial peril. read more

They have really nice service techs but they don't know what they are doing. We had them come out to fix our AC unit and they said our Freon was low and tried to check for leaks but didn't find any. So they topped it off 3lbs and charged us around$350. They said the Freon was $99 a lb with the gold club membership and we signed up for their maintenance service. A few days later our AC stopped working again and another technician had to take a look. Right away she found the leak and said we needed to replace the evaporator coil and drain and put in all new Freon for $1900. We got a little discount since they had to come back for the same problem and ended up paying $1700. We were desperate and didn't do our research so we went ahead and agreed for them to fix it. After doing some research and talking to other AC repair companies after the fact. We realized that Custom Comfort Air ripped us off. They overcharged. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Called on Monday at 4:30pm and their technician was there at 6pm, after 3 days of trying to get someone out to fix our A/C. The technician was friendly and very professional. He fixed the problem and was very respectful of our house by wearing shoe covers when he came in, closing gates and doors and patiently explaining the problem and repair to me. I'm not negative and have never written a review but I will now. The owner was too busy to make me an appointment and asked me to call back later to get one of the girls. I explained I knew the drain was stopped up. Simple? I asked price. 89$ I called back and was given a quote twice as much as owner stated to me. After arguing over price she agreed to owners quoit.I'm a single woman with a business of 26 years and my property manager wants me to call CCAir. I've used them before. They came, we're here 20 min, blew out drain and charged me 236$. No check freon, nothing . I would need another app and 80$ . I told them what was wrong, why didn't they suggest I get it serviced for 80$. Not helping woman and supposedly a godly man??? I also found no record of them belonging to the BBB???? read more
