I'm writing this review because Dave's excellent Yelp reviews are what encouraged me to choose him to reface my cabinets--and I'm so glad I did! Dave completed my kitchen yesterday after a five-day project, and I couldn't be happier with the result. My cabinets were small, dated and overly traditional, and I wanted a cleaner, brighter, more modern look without remodeling the entire kitchen. Cabinet refacing is definitely the way to go if you want a dramatic transformation and excellent value for your money. Dave brought my vision to life with beautiful slim Shaker-style doors, which he extended to give the cabinetry a more streamlined, modern appearance, along with a matte white finish and installed the polished chrome hardware. Dave and his painter, Gilberto, were punctual and communicative, and they always cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. The difference is incredible--the kitchen now feels larger, lighter, and much more contemporary. Dave was knowledgeable, responsive, and attentive to detail throughout the entire project. After replacing our kitchen counters, we received several quotes for either cabinet refacing or painting. When Dave came out to give us a quote, it was immediately clear he takes great pride in his craftsmanship. He offered thoughtful suggestions we hadn't considered. For example, when we mentioned replacing our oven/microwave combo, Dave recommended coordinating the installation with his work so he could custom-fit the opening using matching wood trim -- a much better solution than the plastic filler the appliance company suggested. We thought we knew what we wanted, but after seeing another option Dave suggested, we changed our minds -- and we're so glad we did. We encountered a few issues when ordering our oven/microwave combo because they recently changed the model. When I tried to reach out to the vendor to confirm the dimensions, no one could provide us the exact measurements and were told it should fit into the same cutout as the previous model. Dave took those dimensions added in the additional wood to existing cabinet since the new oven/microwave combo was about 2-3 inches shorter in height than the existing oven/microwave combo. When our new oven/microwave combo arrived, Dave's estimated measurements were spot on and the oven/microwave combo fit perfectly. He even noticed our dishwasher had been installed incorrectly and fixed that too by adding in some additional woodwork. Dave comes to your house and takes tons of measurements. The doors take about 5 weeks to be shipped, mine were early at 4 weeks. You decide if you're painting the fronts or hire Dave's painter. I wanted to continue with stained (not painted) cabinets. Dave's vendor Walzcraft had a stain that closely matched my current stain. Walzcraft offers a broad selection of cabinet styles to choose from. He uses Walzcraft because the solid wood doors are very good quality, nice finish, and the veneer is real wood. When he says he'll be here at 8:30, he's here at 8:30. This is the second time I've worked with Dave (CCR) on a refacing project. I had golden oak entertainment/storage units in my family room, very outdated and heavy looking. They're sturdy and work for me so I was hesitant to replace them, seemed so wasteful. Dave was able to reface the drawers and doors with grey painted shaker cabinet doors and plain drawer fronts. The frame/body of the units were sanded and primed several times before a final coat of paint. The oak grain is virtually gone, replaced with a nice solid finish. I was worried it might be easily scratched but is not the case at all. To say I'm p,eased with the end product is an understatement.
