One day, this guy is the owner, and the next month the other guy is, depending on who you have contracted your botched repair with. The game is too long to explain. Save yourself the disappointing and expensive experience. They are con men. These 2 guys at that garage appear to be in financial trouble and are in to screw every Porsche owner. They, or at least the first owner, have been around for a long time, so many older Porsche owners tend to have gone to that shop for services. They ARE NO AS LONGER KNOWLEDGEABLE AS other alternatives. Save your time and your well-being, do not waste your time and your well earned money with these folks! The absolute worst!

I call these guys up, drop off the car one night and then the next day it's done and the bill doesn't give me a heart attack. ok, so I don't enjoy the bill, but they seem to be pretty fair with pricing and don't try and over sell you a whole bunch of things you don't need. The sway bar bushings for my V40 consist of four separate components. I supplied these parts because the Volvo dealer doesn't stock them and I didn't want to leave my car for two or three days waiting on the parts. I also supplied an installation diagram as I know these bushings are often installed incorrectly, which is what in fact happened despite my best efforts. Rave discarded two of the parts I'd supplied in the process of installing the other parts incorrectly. The front struts and coil springs.that were installed incorrectly by Rave were Volvo OEM parts purchased from Rave Imports.

I went through a quart of fluid between Providence and Boston. I couldn't wait to get back to my mechanic in Toronto. Based on other Yelp reviews I contacted Nick's garage and Rave. I explained the situation to both and waited for them to call me back with a quote. Rave provided an estimate within an hour while Nick was still waiting for a callback regarding parts costs, but did estimate costs similar to Rave. I went with Rave, we looked under the car together and Dave pointed out the signs of what the problem is. While under the car he did check a few other steering related things like tie rods an ball joints. They also had chairs in the garage area if i wanted to watch them work. So the story ends up with a happy, very satisfied customer who feels the customer service, attention to detail, and swift but not too swift as to miss anything service put meback on the road the same day. The car drives like new again. Not bad for a volvo with 145,000 miles! PS. I always put any new mechanic through a slew of questions to see if he's a bullshitter or the real deal. I couldn't be happier with the results! They replaced one wheel (a custom rim), painted a quarter panel, and replaced the back bumper. I dropped off the car on Friday morning and it was ready the next Thursday morning (faster than other body shops I have dealt with). In addition, they do a FREE interior/exterior detailing with all body work, so my car looks brand new. They also let me drop off my rental car there, so the whole process was very easy. I would absolutely go back here again if I ever need body work again!

To my surprise, all three gentlemen, Big Bob, Julio and Little Bob all showed up in court. Bob Cucurull refused to sit with a mediator early on in an effort to come to some sort of compromise. So it went to trial early in the afternoon. Needless to say, I won. The standard for a professional and workmanlike service does NOT include bubbles, scratches and holes. Why they preferred to sit in court for five hours instead of fixing their mistakes was beyond me. In Little Bob's defense, I'm sure he was told to be there by the other two. Now I'll wait to see if they honor the court's judgment or if I'll have the sue them to pay on that as well.

Dave's a knowledgeable, effective, and HONEST independent mechanic. He's provided service to my…read more2003 Honda Civic and my 2012 Subaru Outback for the last several years. Dave understands that, as a customer, you may want options in your repair. In other words, you may not want to spend $2,000 on a repair for a car that is fifteen years old. He also has been able to solve mysterious mechanical issues that other mechanics could not sleuth out. Most recently, we brought our Subaru into Dave at Middlesex(the owner/mechanic) due to a squeaking sound that we were hearing when traveling at about 65-70 mph. Dave thought that this was a transmission issue that was a known trouble spot for my make and model. I was slightly over the warranty miles, but Dave advised me to call Subaru of North America anyway to see if they could work with me(warranty-wise) on the potential replacement of the transmission since this was a known issue. This process took a little while and Dave coached me a few times during this process. At the end of the day, Subaru covered the transmission replacement 100%. Dave's knowledge and advice saved me thousands of dollars despite the fact that Subaru would have to do that work themselves and Dave wouldn't see any work from it. On a side note, Middlesex Auto is in downtown Melrose. This is super convenient for anyone who lives in Melrose. It is also steps away from buses and the Commuter Rail if you have to leave your car.
