Almost like a Hugh hunk of an unsliced loaf of bread ( like 2 or 3 slices thick) grilled on both sides & split down the top for the dog & chili to sit. I'm not kidding, they are worth a try. Others in the group liked their choices as well - chicken salad, burger, Reuben , but I highly recommend the chili dog!!! Oh yeah, you can get home cut or crinkle cut fries. I was very relieved to see this place within a pretty short walking distance from our accommodations for the night. I was also relieved to see that it was still open shortly after 7 on a Thursday night bc Google scared me saying they closed at 7. It's possible that they do bc when we walked in there was no one else there. Could also be bc it is a very small town. They don't have alcohol which was a bummer. They do have enticing sports-bar-like appetizers and fried ravioli which caught my eye. We kept it simple and both ordered burgers, I was grateful for the veggie burger option. Service was great. I, as a vegetarian, don't usually order burgers so I needed some assistance. Our server basically held my hand through the whole thing and asked me step by step how I would like mine. GF and I both succumbed to the side of fries. The burgers were served on a really delightful brioche bun with fresh lettuce. The fries were incredible. Our server went above and beyond and asked if we wanted any dipping sauces, finally a server that speaks my language. Very good experience here in this very unique restaurant.

I would have preferred actual cheese. We ultimately sent food back and ordered a burger and reuben and were pleased. Most outstanding thing was the wait service and management! The setting is lovely -- Snowshoe Plaza had a car show that day, and the surrounding area is worth exploring. In winter this is a ski hub, but in summer it's still a great spot to visit. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, and the food took at least 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with baked beans and sweet potato fries (sharing with someone else). The good: The baked beans were fantastic, and the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've ever had. Most of the food tasted great overall. The bad: The ribs were completely blackened and burnt throughout -- not just a little char, but fully charred. I've attached a photo for reference. Burnt food not only ruins the flavor, but it's a sign of poor execution and attention to detail, and over time it can be unhealthy. Overall, the location is great, the service was decent, and most of the food was solid. Unfortunately, the ribs knocked this experience down for me -- enough to take off two stars. Portions are generous and the flavors are satisfying, especially when you're craving something hearty and warm. It can get pretty busy, especially during peak times, so expect a bit of a wait and slower service. That said, the staff is usually friendly, and once you're seated. If you can grab a seat by the window, the village view at night is a nice bonus.

Thankfully, his daughter has taken over the small hotdog stand and has not lost a beat, by providing the same, best chili hotdogs, not only in the state but possibly the country. I am a huge fan of WV slaw dogs and have eaten them across the state. But Yann's is different. They are very simple, dog, on a bun, a spoon full of spicy and delicious chili, onions, with or without mustard, that would not be as good covered in slaw. Yann's hot dogs go down so easily, I ate 3 in the car outside of the stand and run back into the store for 3 more. Thank you, Ms. Catherine, for keeping your father's and your family's legacy alive and well, while even including a smile with service.
