Almost like a Hugh hunk of an unsliced loaf of bread ( like 2 or 3 slices thick) grilled on both sides & split down the top for the dog & chili to sit. I'm not kidding, they are worth a try. The setting is lovely -- Snowshoe Plaza had a car show that day, and the surrounding area is worth exploring. In winter this is a ski hub, but in summer it's still a great spot to visit. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, and the food took at least 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with baked beans and sweet potato fries (sharing with someone else). The good: The baked beans were fantastic, and the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've ever had. Most of the food tasted great overall. The bad: The ribs were completely blackened and burnt throughout -- not just a little char, but fully charred. I've attached a photo for reference. Burnt food not only ruins the flavor, but it's a sign of poor execution and attention to detail, and over time it can be unhealthy. Overall, the location is great, the service was decent, and most of the food was solid. Unfortunately, the ribs knocked this experience down for me -- enough to take off two stars. It is located in the center of Webster Springs (next to the court house), which is convenient to anyone travelling through to Snowshoe and other ski areas, or to the trout fishing mecca of Bergoo, WV. The Springs has a nice assortment of panini-style deli sandwiches. (My favorite is the Reuben, called "Mr. Reuben.") But what is unusual, is to find WV craft beers (in cans) and a nice selection of wines in this remote country town. The atmosphere, with displays of local history and attractions, is a conversation-starter.
