Curzon desperately wants to be "hip and trendy" or something like that. It just comes off as pretense. The "decor" is some sort of bastardized cross between industrial and art house theater chic.
The seats are hard, with mustard yellow woven cotton blend. When I say hard, I mean not recommended for anyone over 30 years old.
The staff talked up the couches "at no extra charge" and I can see why, they don't recline, and have more stains of indeterminate origin than the couches at the playboy mansion.
The sound was good, and though smaller than most, the screen was adequate for the room size. The room certainly had an "intimate"feel.
If not for the slightly elevated ticket price (£15), the hard seats, and the upholstery that gave you the vague impression that you were sitting in the same spot where some hipster baby had been conceived, it would have been a pleasant enough experience.
I can't recommend this until they clean it up and get some padding in the seats though. read more
