Just heard about this market and enjoy fresh meat. I intended to grab a 5lb boston butt to season a…read morecleaned stainless smoker before Thanksgiving. Swung by after dinner with the wife so I wasn't hungry After browsing the meats i pulled an 11lb beauty from the cooler. Grabbed a pack of their burger patties and the wife picked out some Popping Pineapple sausage. I threw the sausage on the grill at 300 the next morning with breakfast. I can't remember the last time I had some fresh pork sausage. This blend was awesome. It was a bit too spicy for my wife but my daughter had no problems with it so it' was medium heat. Great excuse to go back for some mild so the wife can enjoy some. I don't think I have ever had fresh bacon so that is on the list for next time. The boston butt turned out perfect after 13hrs on the smoker. I marinated it with some Notorious P.I.G rub from their shelves of seasonings. The burgers are a must try at least once if you like to eat hamburgers. I will buy it again. . Really hope to get a chance to try their dry aged ribeyes. The steaks looked like USDA Choice at a minimum. All of the meat looked like quality cuts. Not that I am an expert Fresh meat Very good quality Fair prices

I googled homemade sausage and this came up. It was only 7 minutes away so we decided to give it a try. Wow, were we pleased. Small hometown store. Very friendly and clean. Prices were IMO reasonable this is only part of our haul, but oh was the quality amazing! This will be our new go to!!! Highly recommend if in the area!

Since I moved to Albany, GA, I have been in search for a butcher so I can get my choice cuts for my…read morerecipes. Google will always point me to a Walmart, Publix or Target whenever I search for butcher in this area. Then I discovered Mike's Country Store. I've been passing them on my way out of Albany and they're usually not in a central location. Little did I know that I'm going to find my pork cuts there. Mike's Country Store has fresh and frozen pork, beef, turkey and priced lower than Walmart, Publix and Target. They have the odds and ends which one day I will buy for my Filipino dishes. I've always been on the lookout for pigs ears for the sisig dish but Google will always say you can find it in Albany but in the dog treats section. Happy to report that it's in Mike's! Mike's Country Store has cooked food and I recommend that you get their home made bbq sauce with them! So good! They have a deli section which has a slow moving line. Considering Mike's stores are not centrally located, people drive all the way for their deli so it is promising, will definitely try when I return. There's a lot of parking space and staff is nice and accommodating. There was a little old lady struggling with describing the cut of meat she wants and the guy who worked there was very patient with her. Thumbs up!

It had been out of date since January 2025. I was visiting in August 2025. They have a known habit of taking bad meat and covering it in butt rubb before rewrapping it. The management in store is also very very poor. The country store road location posted a hiring sign, I called and was told over the phone "OK call me Monday and we will get you in the system and go from there", then the manager blocked my number and ghosted me. I have 24 years of experience in grocery stores specifically, so their is definitely something not kosher in why he suddenly changed his mind, especially given his comments about "the kind of people who work at Pic N Sav." (my previous employer) Not a healthy attitude to have as a supposed member of leadership, and telling about why mike's is in such bad shape that Mike Rogers has tried to sell two of his stores in the last year to his competition.
