Out of all the fish stores around the Boston area, this one is definitely my favorite. Very healthy…read morefish, a lot of variety and the costumer service is excellent. The place holds a surprising amount of fish for such a small store front and the fact that they only show Koi fish at the front is very misleading because they have so much more inside, including saltwater fish. They do have a sister store in Quincy were they specialize in Koi and maybe that's why they decided to put them at the front when they opened the store. Anyways, all the fish that I have purchased here did very well and I have complete trust when I purchase new ones that they will not bring any diseases to my tanks. That is something that I can't say for either Petco or Pet Supplies Plus. Their fish often die soon after purchase and their tanks don't get cleaned as often as they should. I simply don't trust them. The prices are very good, surprisingly good for a locally owned store, and what I like the most is that you can always find some random weird fish that you won't be able to help but to get. It is always a nice adventure going there. I can't talk much about the saltwater fish because I only have freshwater tanks, although I love walking by them to see their beautiful colors and behaviors so one day I can gather the courage to start a saltwater tank at home. I read a very mean comment calling the place a dump and that is so far from the truth. It is not a dump at all. It is a little crowded because it is a small location and the place is cared for by two older gentlemen that truly love their fish and are really passionate about their trade and thus are always moving things around to make the environment better for the fish. For me, the constant moving and switching around of things is a plus. Now, lets talk about those two gentlemen that I just mentioned. They are great people. They are so helpful and knowledgeable about all the fish they carry. They are very patient when you can't make up your mind and they don't pressure you to buy anything if you don't want to. Many times I've just stopped by to see if they had something new, asked a lot of questions and just left without getting anything. Never did they ever treat me like I had just wasted their time and they have always been incredibly welcoming when I came back. Just writing this makes me want to go back right now. I give them 5 stars because I don't know what else I could expect from a fish store, they completely fulfill all my expectations. I love this place.

There are not enough great things I can say for this place. The store really is a testament to how great and dedicated the owner is. He is the kindest most patient teacher for all things fish and will help you learn how to become a successful fish master. He is in the shop ALWAYS, will spend as much time with you as you want and will also leave you alone to browse. Aquatic Treasures is also a fish helpline. I had a beta fish that was very pathetically flopping around on the top of the tank and desperately called here (where I got him) to see if there was anything I could do to save him. He walked me through the steps and I have now had that happy beta for a year since. He also provides a fish kennel for when you go away if you don't have a trustworthy neighbor to feed your fish. If you are looking to start a new tank or get an exciting new fish this is the only place worth going. The prices are great; the quality and variety of fish are spectacular; and you get all the support you could ever want.
