Paneer Hara Masala
Kiran S.

Based on my experience and IMO... June 8, 2024 update/experience. A thoroughly disappointing meal tonight. Ordered Cauliflower Manchurian, Paneer Hara Masala and Chicken Vindaloo. Spent almost $55 on the meal. The Manchurian was sweet and full of food coloring - not at all like a typical Indian Gobi Manchurian, the Paneer was out of balance in its spicing and tasted sour, while the Vindaloo was just tangy. Not at all how these dishes should look and taste - will not return.

Lunch Buffet 2

We came for the lunch buffet on a Wednesday. There were a few tables occupied, but otherwise the place was relatively quiet. Prices are about average post COVID, at $16.95 per person. In terms of ambiance, this place is definitely above average. There is some degree of grandeur in the interior deco. The restaurant interior is also fairly large and should have no problems accommodating large groups. As for the buffet selection - well, I hope you like chicken. There are 6 different chicken dishes, along with chicken briyani and chicken noodles! There's 3 vegetarian dishes. Unfortunately, there's nothing much else. What's available does taste very good. Fresh naan is also available upon request and is included in the buffet.

I love Indian food but this place was just ok to us! My coworker and I ventured here for lunch. It was only a few tables of ppl so it was slow though it was well into the typical lunch hour. The service left much to be desired. The lady acted like it was the last place she wanted to be. Well honey, I can't help you find new employment but since you're here, you could probably be a little more present. And don't get me started on the condition of their menus! That lady brought out the most raggedy piece of a menu I've seen in life. Now they do have a QR so you can pull it up. If the rest of their menus look like that one, you're better off scanning! Also, I ended up spending about 35/40 on my lunch and smoothie and just felt like it wasn't worth it... The mango smoothie had a decent taste but was damn near room temperature. The awesamosas were so small, can't believe the price tag. It wasn't what I was expecting AT ALL. I like the big fluffy ones, what I got looked no different than the ones from Trader Joe's frozen aisle. I ordered the goat biryani. It was good but could use more meat esp since some of it was nothing more than small bones. It was also pretty dry even after adding the sauce that accompanied it. The naan was definitely good. My coworker ordered the butter chicken and I think she liked it. She did compare it to TJ's as well but it was her first Indian restaurant experience so take that as you will.

Fish & Fries (Lahori)

We ordered via Uber eats. The food was good ( probably better if we ate at the restaurant ) The Biryani was okay. We like the Hyderabad house Biryani better! But it's a matter of taste. The butter chicken and fish were both good!

I had an alternate plan initially, but timing didn't work out for me, so I perused my bookmarks as I took the parking shuttle to my car and settled on Curry Masala. I called them once I got to my car and was told my order would be ready in about 20 minutes, as my GPS read out that I was 20 minutes from the restaurant. Everything was coming up Milhouse. Because I am a basic B, I ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. It was ready about 3 minutes after I arrived, and off to home I headed. I enjoyed both, but thought the tikka masala was definitely the better of the two, and the wife agreed. We had a favorite Indian spot really close to here that has unfortunately closed down, so I have been on the hunt for a new one. Curry Masala did not quite match that level, but it's not a bad option when in the area.

Love this little truck!…read more Here at Desi Vibes, you get the full food truck experience. Friendly service, a rotating menu, affordable prices (got two meals for $12), operating hours that you just kind of need to check before you go, and most importantly, hot, tasty, messy food. The doubles were the reason I came, and I was lucky to pick some up on a Saturday evening. The pepper sauce is perfect, and they have a great chutney on top. If you're new to Trini street food, doubles are a popular small dish that you'll find in most towns across the island nation, commonly eaten for breakfast. Essentially it's chickpeas in a curry-like sauce served on two bara (which function like a tortilla). It's delicious and unlike most familiar flavor profiles, and it's definitely worth trying here because these folks knock it out of the park. The mushroom burger came out hot - almost too hot to hold. The patty was cooked well-done, which is worth noting if you prefer a medium cook on your burger. The mushrooms, onions, and sauce got everywhere - it was glorious. Can't wait to go back and try the loaded fries, shrimp fritters, and more of their authentic Trini dishes!

One order has 3 sliders with mini beef patties topped with cheese, grilled onions, and jalapeños - all in all super delicious! The loaded fries were pretty good too but I will say that the cheese sauce was slightly lacking in flavor. The spicy chicken sandwich was nice and crispy but the coleslaw was a bit too sweet for my liking. The chicken itself was a little dry inside so I think some kind of sauce would be a great addition! Make sure you check them out on instagram to see menu updates before you go. Their prices are so reasonable and it's nice to have more halal options in North Houston!

The pakistani Chinese fusions are always a hit in our house. We have dined in with them, and every time the food comes out in a timely manner. And even though they're pretty busy, they always seem to get out order, right away which is a big deal to us. We don't like waiting unnecessarily-- I mean, no one does, but we especially do not. We have done take out with them multiple times--we get take out more than anything. We love their Sunday brunch specials. My only complaint would be that I wish that they would do it earlier because 11am is pretty late for us, we want halwa puri earlier than that! As long as they remain professional, have a clean establishment, tasty food and good customer service--we will continue to support this business!

The Good: Food was amazing. Our server was very nice, warm, motherly, and inviting. The food was filling. The Bad: The atmosphere is very harsh and sterile, not the most inviting. Our greeting was initially similarly harsh. Confusion on pricing. Things that we thought were included (water and rice) were not, but were presented as free. It was not the most cheap. Overall, it is mixed, but the food being as good as it was skews my perception. If the food is fantastic I would go through anything to eat it. I suggest you try it. It is a new business so overtime they will improve and grow, I hope to see it thrive.

Two were inedible. We asked the server if we could send back the appetizer, but they refused. They proceeded to list off a bunch of reasons why the inedible food was the fault of "customers not understanding Indian food" and "people not liking spicy". Too many excuses, too little care in the food. They offered no apology and refused to split the check in two. $45 for 2 and no one ate....
