Current crop is a great place to pick up freshly roasted coffee. They will even teach you how to roast it yourself. We have attended several of their classes which are highly educational. I really like the roasting and cupping classes and my wife enjoyed the coffee cocktail class a lot.

What you really need is a smell feature on yelp. If it existed, you would be instantly transported into a coffee wonderland. This is the perfect spot to get your food science nerd on and pick country of origin, type of bean, all the things and make your perfect coffee at home. They offer classes and on site instruction. A class would make a great activity for visitors celebrating birthdays or weddings or whatever. The staff is great, answering all my very basic questions... Because I don't actually drink coffee. I know the horror. But they also sell coffee related accessories so a pour over set up might be in someone's future. Parking is on the street and the shop is in a vintage house so it's a few steps up. I don't know if they have accessibility options.

My relationship with Current Crop Roasting Shop began a couple of months ago while visiting NOLA. What a wonderful experience!! Selected beans from 3 different countries and was able to have them roasted right away. The staff were all knowledgeable and helpful. The aromas of roasting coffee create a nice environment. Since then, they've supplied me with a roaster and green beans. Stop in and/or visit online...awesome establishment!!

If you want to experience something fun in New Orleans that not a lot of people know about -- GO HERE!!!!! Their coffee roasting class is so informative and you get to keep all the coffee you roast! I learned so much about coffee from different regions and the difference between light, medium, and dark roast coffee. I have recommended this class to so many friends and they all have loved it! They also have coffee from all over the world in the shop -- so you can browse around if you're curious. This is not just another coffee shop in New Orleans -- it is a unique concept with so much to learn from!

We did a coffee roasting class @currentcroprs today. I highly recommend it. So much fun. The class is small and intimate. About 8 of us. The instructor is very knowledgeable and patience with our questions. We learn how to roast green coffee beans to light, medium, and dark. Super cute shop and friendly staff that will help you choose the right beans for ya. They have a large variety of green beans to choose from at a very affordable price . Once you purchase it, they'll roast it in store for you, on the spot. Or you can roast it to your liking. No extra charge for roasting, just pay the price of green beans! They also sell some pretty cool roasting equipment and more. We'll definitely be back. Check out their social media for upcoming classes such as cupping and art coffee classes!

Our group went here to learn about roasting our own coffee. Very interesting free tour to learn about roasting coffee in very small personal size batches. We were amazed at how many varieties of options are available for you to do at a very small level that you can do for your own personal consumption. It's also a fun little thing to do while visiting in town. Our group of four all gave it a thumbs up.

This was an amazing experience. We popped in thinking we were going to simply buy a cup of coffee. Once we got the vibe Ezra helped us roast a few different beans to perfection. He is super knowledgeable and patient. Take the time to go here and give this place your business. 10/10

Please do yourself a favor if you're a coffee lover and go visit this place in New Orleans! We wandered in as my mission for our trip was "bring home some good beans". Luckily I found the perfect place. The person upfront that day was awesome! Super helpful. We chose two of the I believe 70 something different beans they offer. The person helped us roast our beans to a ledium roast (thanks for laughing at my bad pun too). We received so much cool information about roasting techniques, learned about their experience classes available, and walked out with two EXTREMELY CHEAP bags of beans. In my home town a bag of beans is anywhere from $20-30 but my two bags were "some of the more expensive in the store" at just $7 and $10 that was the craziest part.

Now let's talk about breakfast: Weekday around lunch. About 1/4 of seats taken. As best I could tell, 2 or 3 servers. Coffee, OJ and soda brought promptly after ordering. FYI - drinks reasonably priced. I opted for Spinach & Swiss omelette, hash browns well done and biscuit. He opted for Meatlover's omelette, hash browns and toast. 25 minutes later breakfast was served. Husband's order was fine: tasty omelette, and the toast was well buttered. Mine? The Swiss was sticking out of the omelette and it was a slice not melted. The cheese inside the omelette was melted, and overall it had good flavor. The hash browns had good flavor, but they were not well done. The biscuit was not buttered - there was butter on the table - and it was nice and dense to support slathering it in jelly. The waitress checked on us a couple of times. I made no comment whether it was good or bad, because I was going to eat it anyway. As a general rule I don't send things back, and in this instance given the time it took to get it, I was starved and certainly wasn't sending it back. Leftovers box and checkout was super quick. This experience: 2 stars; averaging to 4 stars for restaurant overall. Will continue to use for pastries, but won't be back for another sit down experience.

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!

The shrimp was yummy the salad too but expected more on the salad maybe cucumber or tomatoes over all for just having cheese on Arugula with dressing was ok. I paired it with the shrimp and it was tasty! According to the hop on/off bus the beignets & champagne are the hit at this cafe. The bartender made a wonderful cocktail with champagne & it was delicious! The spot is dog friendly & in a cute little restaurant/bar row & shops area.
