Glorious biscuit and a tumbler of iced tea
    Jen L.

Hey Coffee was hosting an art show that featured a friend and I was out of town for the opening, so I hightailed it across to town to see the art for the final weekend. Of course, while there I had a seriously delicious biscuit and a steel tumbler of iced tea. PERFECTION! The space is small as befits a grab and go coffee shop but there is seating for 10 or so, but with the high ceilings, it does not feel cramped. The person behind the counter was great, friendly and knowledgeable. And he made buying a couple of pieces, easy peasy. Will definitely stop back in when near the Greenway!

This place is so cute and welcoming! I'd never heard of it but while I was waiting for my bagel from flour moon I stepped over and grabbed a small, no-foam, five shot, half-caf, no foam, pumpkin spice latte, with no foam, at 210 degrees (*vanilla latte) the owner? Or person working was so cute and very friendly and my drink was too! The place is very instagram-y and just a vibe! I didn't know they had food as well but next time I go I'll get food and report back! 5 stars for the coffee and the experience!

My oat milk chai is in this photo. I got to enjoy it next door at the bagel place. Hey Coffee Co. has limited seating so it's not my go-to study spot. But it's great for taking in the Greenway scenery with a couple of friends. The staff is sweet.

A great funky little coffee shop right on the Lafitte Greenway. Perfect place to stop while on bike or foot. I have been here often and have worked here. They have WiFi and outlets. The drinks are quality and they have a fizz bar (Sodajerks) that is awesome!! I love a good bubbly drink and these do not disappoint. This is very much a community feel here with everyone saying hello. Hey Coffee Co. hosts many events like latte art competitions and one event I saw recently was a Holiday Market. If you go here you'll be greeted warmly and will want to come back! It truly is unique and a treasure in the neigjborhood

I stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop on a backstreet, on my way to pick my boyfriend and family up for lunch. It gave me all the hipster vibes and reminded me of home (The Bay Area) which I greatly appreciated. I got a couple of Americanos and they were perfectly prepared. Such a friendly, colorful little spot, I loved the plants - if I lived in the city I'd definitely be a regular.

I'm visiting New Orleans this week and decided to visit the newish mid-city location of Hey! Coffee. First, I wanted a couple pounds of their delicious Ethiopian beans. They were freshly roasted and packaged for me. They smell so good in my suitcase! I ended up going back three times for morning lattes...yummy! Micah was so nice and is a great barista. We also met a lot of really nice people there! They feature local artists, with some of their work displayed for sale. Heading home in the morning, but will definitely be back! And I learned that they have an online store, so I can keep supplied with my favorite brew

I'm from outside New Orleans, but recently moved to Oakland, CA. I frequently Hey! On a monthly basis, as I love specialty coffee and this shop is very consistent and in a few great locations in the city. My friend Devin, who is a local roaster in Hammond, LA and I had been talking about Yemeni coffee and trying to get our hands on some. For those unfamiliar, Yemen was one do the first places coffee was grown and cultivated. It's also a hard region to export from, modern-day. I was very pleasantly surprised when this showed up at my door, sent from Devin! I brewed a cup immediately using my Hario V60, and it was fresh and bright. The jasmine came out for me in the tasting notes, giving it a light and almost tea-like body. I've always loved this space to frequent, but this was an extra special surprise!

Even for locals, nothing beats a plate of fresh beignets covered in powdered sugar ashes down by a nice cup of cafe au lait made with strong chickpea laced coffee. Go for the beignets and stay for the people watching. Like the food court at the Mall of America's, you'll see every walk of life come to Cafe Du Monde. I had the chance to come back to the city last weekend, when a good friend from my Italy days was in town for a conference. I was able to meet her to explore the city for a day, and we of course had to make room for beignets and Cafe du Monde. We almost settled for one of the locations at an indoor mall, but we stuck out a 20-30 min walk from where we were to make it to the original at the French Quarter. Since it was just two of us, we were able to get seated pretty quickly even though there was an expected Saturday morning line. I am also glad my friend had cash because they STILL only accept cash for payment. No credit cards, which is wild at any US establishment nowadays. We also tried to only order one plate of beignets (come in a set of 3) and one coffee each but the server came back with two beignet plates and coffees. $20 with tax included! The beignets themselves were scrumptious, warm, and delicious ofcourse. So I suppose worth any inconvenience that we may have experienced. However, the tables are left incredibly messy. It is true that our server did wipe off our table before we sat down but it is embarrassing to see patrons create such a mess to begin with.

We went all in: shrimp and grits that were downright phenomenal (I'm still thinking about them), a goat cheese omelette that was so good it made me question all my past breakfast decisions, and pancakes with berries that tasted like they were made by someone who genuinely cares about your happiness. The coffee? Strong enough to fix your life. The service? Warm, attentive, and somehow psychic--they just knew when we needed refills or another mimosa (which, for the record, felt less like a drink and more like a lifestyle choice). Honestly, this place doesn't just serve breakfast--it gives you a reason to get out of bed. 10/10 would wake up early again... and I do not say that lightly.

My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home.
