I requested quotes from several local tree services in our area. Curran's quote came in the middle of the prices received. The gentleman who came buy to find out the scope of work, to base the quote on, was knowledgeable about trees preservation and pleasant to work with. We chose Curran based on the price and company expectation. We were told they would bring their Spider Lift to reach the limbs we wanted pruned. The staff laid plywood across the lawn so as to not leave tracks in the soft turf and blocks under the legs that stabilize the lift. The crew worked well together and the foreman made sure our expectations had been met as to the scope of the work. The clean up was pretty good. A couple of branches were missed in between our hedgerow but nothing crazy. We did a rake to sweep up small bits that were missed, but all in all I have no complaints. No damage was done to the yard or other plants which sadly I have experienced with other companies in the past. Curran made sure when a branch fell, it would be out of the way of the hedges, nearby trees and fences. It's been a couple of months and the trees are doing well and look great. I would gladly use Curran again. They were all pleasant to interact with and made sure we were happy before they left. We paid by check and received a receipt before they departed. He is an outstanding contractor who performs qualty work for the association. In fact, many owners hire him to do work for them. Nick, the owner, is knowledgeable and honest. His crew work deligently and are clean and efficient. The person who wrote the comments is upset because association did not do the extent of the work he wanted. Nice people, so very easy to work with, fairly priced and extremely professional! I've had Curran Tree and a couple of houses. I needed to get my moms trees done but she has Alzheimer's and it takes a bit of planning to get her out of the house so she won't get upset about things. Curran worked within our limitations and accommodated is. Mom ended out being home but really enjoyed watching them work and seeing "the man in the bucket". I contacted Curran Tree Services immediately after a neighbor hired some hacks to cut down all branches that hung over their property; leaving the tree completely uneven and bald on one side. I felt it was unsafe, so contacted Curran. They were at my house within 24 hours to asses. Tree was assessed and they agreed to take it down for a reasonable cost on the spot--where other contractors advised they would have to get back to me with a price. I had a fallen tree leaning against other trees right over my fence. This would be a dangerous and difficult removal since the tree was not rooted/grounded at one end. Hired them to take down a half dead spruce tree in front yard. They were extremely proficient and professional. Curran Tree is fantastic (particularly the owner who is always onsite running the show). They have done 3 three big tree removal and pruning jobs for us over the last 2 years and the service and professionalism have been amazing every time. Great communication, great price, very responsive. When they show up (which will be exactly when they say they will) they are efficient, obviously experts at what they do and do an amazing job cleaning up after. Grampy man showed up and left without giving an estimate. He told my daughter those are some big trees, I could give your mom an estimate but she won't like it.... and left! So ofcourse I called the company and left message. As of almost a week later, no callback to apologize or explain himself. Apparently they aren't the company to call if you want trees removed. read more

Very nice people, both people that showed up to do the job were very professional and easy to work with. Gave me a fair quote and did a great job with the tree that needed pruning in my yard. Update: Talked to Nick, he listened to my feedback and apologized, also made sure clean up was completed, and gave very helpful insight on a problem area on my lawn, changed rating to 2 stars. 1. Left my yard a total mess, and ruined 3 hosta plants 2. Left a huge hole in my yard, and a 2nd smaller hole 3. Supposed to leave stump 12-18 inches high, cut it down to the ground 4. Raked my yard to shreds, leaving clumps of grass and sod and bare spots 5. Damaged my neighbor's fence 6. Left debris in front of my driveway and both adjacent neighbors' driveways Worst part was that no one from Curran told me about the damage or the holes, or overcutting the stump, I had to call them after I returned home to find my yard in horrible condition! It's been 3 days since my original appt and I've had zero contact from the owner, my yard is still a mess, and i have no idea if they plan on resolving this. It takes 5 min for a phone call, I guess their customers are not worth a 5 min call. I find the other reviews highly misleading, the experience I've had is Nothing like theirs, it's been the exact opposite! I feel duped, like they pulled a fast one on me, no communication from the company = something shady is going on. It was a huge tree, a large job, I understand that, but Mike came to my house, saw the tree etc and gave me his estimate. I expected them to do a good job, not a half-ass job. read more

Nick and his team are absolutely remarkable! It was so easy to work with him. He and his team were very professional, kind, and efficient. Nick also took the time to answer any questions that I had, especially in my questioning about the root causes involved in the decay of the tree being taken down. This is also not to mention the fact that he did a survey of our yard and talked to me about the health of the trees that we had in our yard. Even as a courtesy, he took the time to move an old birdhouse from the decaying tree to another tree. It was a small but very important gesture that goes a long way in my book. We were given a quote from another tree service to take down a huge tree that would involve driving a three ton truck over our active septic system. Curran would not even consider taking a chance using a truck. They took the tree down without a bucket truck by climbing the tree. What a job they did! This involved an incredible amount of expertise and labor. From start to finish the job and all of the workers were professional and the attention to detail was incredible.
