As others have said, this guy is extremely rude and straight up refuses to do business with kind and reasonable people. I'm just trying to give this guy money to do his job, but his attitude is losing him business. Straight up refused to do the work for my wife, which I figured was run of the mill misogyny, but it turns out he's an equal opportunity jerk to anyone, giving me shit for saying "yeah" in agreement in conversation as he explained the process. Get bent, guy. In (undeserved) fairness to the owner, we were asking for a key fob replacement, with the identical fob in hand. In our case the existing fob was working so reprogramming the new fob took seconds thanks to some googling. When I asked if this guy could do it, he started the conversation with many excuses and trying to explain how hard it is before doing it. Don't bother, if you need a key fob go across town to Harry's Key Service on 117th. They've got high tech machines that copy the key part flawlessly. He doesn't have that machine. Harry's also have several very kind and informative employees and a much bigger shop, obviously because they are competent and not rude. The people at Harry's made it very clear that I am welcome to Google and try and do the fob programming myself to save money, or they can try it, or they can order a fob that's more reliable than the flimsy Amazon fob, and if none of those work it'll take an actual dealership unfortunately to get the thing to program. All this guy at Curly's needs to say is "no I don't do fobs, go to Harry's" if he's so incompetent for this specific service, but as the reviews going back nearly a decade show, he is not interested in doing business with anyone at all, especially you.

They have several very kind and informative employees. It turns out, the key copying is only part of the trick for the key fobs, as (at least my) cars have a radio sensor on the ignition that checks if the fob part is approved (programmed). If the key part matches for my car, it'll turn radio on but won't kick ignition over unless the fob part is programmed. In my car's case this was a set of steps such as insert old key, turn on for some seconds, turn off, insert new key, turn on off several times, then it programs it in the car. The people at Henry's explained all of this to me made it very clear that I am welcome to Google and try and do the fob programming myself to save money, or they can try it, or they can order a fob that's more reliable than the flimsy Amazon fob, and if none of those work it'll take an actual dealership unfortunately to get the thing to program. What this place lacks in curb appeal, they more than make up in their customer service and productivity. I have an older Subaru and a newer VW, both of which have complicated and expensive keys to reproduce. The team here has saved me a small fortune by helping me out, and keeping me from having to go to the dealership. They're fast, friendly, and incredibly professional. While I was waiting for my Subaru key today, I didn't know the clerk cut the key, then went out to my car to check the fit. When one of the locks seemed a little tight, he oiled it and made sure the key worked before turning it over to me. It was so much more than I was expecting! I can't recommend the team at AA Express Locksmith enough. In a really competitive business, these folks are doing what it takes to be the very best they can be!

I'm leaving this review because I honestly think it's unfair to let a few obviously fake and…read morerepetitive reviews create a completely wrong picture of Max and his work. My experience was literally the complete opposite. Max is an absolute professional who specializes in automotive locksmith work, especially the difficult jobs that other locksmiths either can't do or simply don't want to touch. I needed a key made completely from scratch for my Audi. FIVE other locksmiths had already tried and failed. The dealer wanted around $1,500. Max gave me a price upfront and stuck to that price even when the job took longer than he expected. That alone says a lot about him. No bullshit, no excuses, no changing the price halfway through. Just honest and professional work. My car had been sitting for about six months because of this problem. Max finally got the key done and my Audi is back on the road. I'm very happy I found him, and I wanted to leave this review because people looking at Yelp should see what his actual work is like, not just a bunch of repetitive reviews that clearly don't match reality. If you have a complicated automotive key, immobilizer or programming problem, I would absolutely call Max.

Before choosing a locksmith I called to find out cost. I was told there would be a $29 service fee and the cost for lockout service was $45. Since this was consistent with what other companies had said, it seemed reasonable. I was given no other price estimate before work began. When I received the final bill it was $123. $29 service fee +$79 lockout service +$15 for drilling out the lock. Why there was a separate fee for one type of work staff of it being part of the lockout service fee I have no idea. I called the office to discuss the discrepancy between the fees I was told and the ones charged. The person I spoke to, who had not been part of the original conversation, insisted that the other person said minimum charge of $45 or starting at $45. That is not what was said. They offered no recourse for resolving the issue. TLDR, get the quote in writing or expect a huge overcharge.
