Recently had my first visit with curls by caruso and I am very pleased with the process and the results. Sharon is very knowledgable and shared how to care for my hair in a way that would encourage growth and long term health. She had recomandations for shampoos, conditioners, and styling products. My cut turned out very cute and i look forward to scheduling a follow up trim in a few weeks. read more

She has a lovely personality and it's a pleasure to be in her salon, but I went to trim damaged ends and get long layers and ended up with this chopped up sides that do not blend in and a frizzy back. I gave it a couple of weeks to see if it would somehow settle but no. I paid $275 with tip for a haircut that will need to be fixed. It looks like a table lamp. I don't think I can recommend it or come back. read more

A great cut. She was meticulous and professional. She shared a thorough discussion of how to create healthy hair and bouncy curls. I loved the ease and convenience of the appointment. I wish everything was that pleasant. It's time to return, but I'm overwhelmed by work and family obligations. I eagerly await my next cut. read more

I love my new haircut!!! Sharon really knows her stuff about curls and I'm so glad I went to her. I hadn't had a cut in awhile so my hair was heavy and full of split ends. She gave me a cut that shapes my face and gives me volume. Definitely returning to her for my curly hair needs!!! read more

Curly-haired girls and fans looking for "Sharon at the Loft," you've come to the right place--this is your girl! I found Sharon after reading a bunch of reviews on Yelp, and started going to her for cuts and color at the Loft about a year ago. This pandemic has created a whole new world, and that goes for Sharon too--she's moved on to PF International Salon, about a half mile away from her previous studio. Sharon's got great energy and is a kind and patient listener--which is what we all *need* when we're talking about our hair and what we want done. You will feel calm and centered in her chair, even in these stressful times (especially in these stressful times!). My hair is super thick and curly, and she's great with lightening up my locks and putting the life back into them. As for color, she uses non-toxic stuff that won't have you keeling over from the fumes, even without a mask (but hey, you still have to wear one right now--we all need to protect each other!). Her color is gorgeous and I immediately feel brighter and happier every time I get my highlights done by her! The new studio is spacious and bright, and you get to sit in front of a "Magic Mirror" and feel like a princess (or a deliciously wicked witch, if that's more your vibe). My one tip is to just do the metered street parking in front of the building, if it's available when you're driving by (and it usually is). If you try to do neighborhood parking on the next side street and there's none available (which is a distinct possibility as it's a dead-end street inhabited by large apartment buildings), you'll have to make a right-hand turn onto Van Nuys and finagle your way back around to access the studio-front street parking again. So just do it the first time and don't fight the traffic patterns there. read more

Sharon is a hair goddess! Love how she uses ammonia free color. My hair has never felt so soft! She removed the red-ish undertone I had (and hated) and gave me her recommendations. Very happy with how my hair turned out. I will definitely be back in a few months! read more

I was spontaneous and got a piercing the day before I had an appointment with Sharon for a hair cut. She was very nice and accommodating with it and was careful with the ear. Sharon is a curly girls dream!! She understands the challenges of a proper cut and knows how to style perfection. Being curly haired like me, allowed me to trust her work quickly and I have yet to be disappointed. I also love the pure black dye she uses on me. My hair needed better attention and Sharon knew how to make me smile. I'm SUPER happy I found her based on her Yelp reviews & after 9 mos of seeing her I am now too a loyal client. Aside from her technique, Sharon has a sparkling, kind, sweet personality. I look forward to my appts & LOVE sitting in her chair chatting it up :) read more

I loooooove my Sharon! I was referred to Sharon through a great friend - whose hair always looks amazing - not exactly a tough sell. ;) As an avid salon goer for many many years, there is little I have fear about in terms of color and cuts...I've had them all. So, when I walked into this cute boutique salon, the lovely Sharon was waiting with a smile. We had gone back and forth over text and email with pictures of what I was looking for, so I was really excited to get started. After a final consult, and a quick mix of color we got at it. I was so pleasantly surprised when I couldn't smell that nasty ammonia smell that most salons have looming in the air. *Listen up my crunchy granola friends* - Sharon only uses non-toxic, organic products. YAY!! Three months after my first color, I was STILL washing out the organic color so my hair looked gorgeous up until my next appointment. I'll never go anywhere else. Also, Sharon is a doll and a half. Probably, one of the most genuine and sweetest people you'll ever meet. Call her!!! read more

I love Sharon! She is a master stylist. She completely gets me. During my first visit, she set aside time to get to know me, understand what I like, what I'm drawn too, basically, learn my style. And then she made a recommendation that was so spot on with my style and personality. I completely trust her. read more

Sharon is fantastic! I was tired of going to the 'upscale' barbershops (Rudy's, Shorty's) and getting a one size fits all cut with clippers and a comb. I wanted to wear my hair a bit longer, but it kept looking like crap when I tried to grow it out. Turns out, I just needed someone to cut it properly for the shape of my head, callicks, etc. Sharon figured out the 'feng shui' of my unruly hair and gave me a style I can work with. She's patient, kind, respectful and very detail oriented. She also has a great sense of style for herself, which I always think speaks volumes for a good stylist. read more

Sharon does a phenomenal job. I have very thick and curly hair but she manages to keep it tamed and healthy. I have done highlights and the agave keratin treatment with her. Her bright and bubbly personality make all my experiences with her even better. read more

Sharon is a really great hairdresser! She's a lovely person to be around which makes the whole hair salon experience 10x better. She dyed my hair last week in prep for my upcoming wedding and it wasn't quite perfect, so she invited me back the next week and touched the whole thing up with complete perfectionism (even though it took her another 3 hours, I feel terrible). She's really dedicated to her work and I love the fact she uses natural aloe-based products, my hair has never felt healthier! I love the color, I've never been a blonde and I can't believe how happy I am with the final product! She's so friendly and really down-to-earth. Would recommend in a heartbeat! read more

Sharon is awesome!!! She has such a lovely, calm demeanor that I really appreciate. She seemed to take great care in listening to what I was looking for and was able to make adjustments for my hair texture to ultimately deliver an amazing haircut. As a busy mom, she was really in tune with ensuring I have an effortless hairstyle that looks great with minimal styling. In a city where there are hundreds of hairstylists to choose from, I am so grateful I found one that stands out above the rest. Thank you Sharon! read more

Sharon has been cutting my hair for about 4+ years and she does an amazing job. Not only is Sharon an amazing stylists she's also an honest and fair person, which is hard to come by especially in LA. Sharon's prices are great for the value she offers and I highly recommend Sharon to anyone looking for an amazingly talented hairstylist. read more

If you are in need of anything hair related my advice is to RUN, not walk straight to the hair studio and ask for Sharon Caruso. She has ruined things for me in the BEST WAY possible. I will never let anyone but her touch my hair ever again! I came to her tired of and extremely discouraged with my hair. It was mouse brown and scraggly from from damage inflicted by other stylists who'd worked on my hair. I honestly didn't have much hope that she could do anything to make it better because I didn't feel like I was bringing her much to work with. Believe me when I tell you it was a MESS! Sharon, was completely undaunted she immediately went to work 1st with a deep conditioning, then brightening up my color, then with another deep conditioning and the BEST part: she was able to turn the scraggly, broken mop on my head into the PERFECT cut that frames my face perfectly. This chick is a magician! There are no better hands to put your head in and frankly, you're an idiot if after trying her you don't agree. read more

Sharon is a fantastic stylist who really listens and communicates with you! She definately wanted to make sure that I was happy with my look when I left.
