In a breakfast nutshell stuck in the early 1990s…read more.. The uninspiring flavorless pancake and syrup that my husband had, had little to offer to appearance and taste. The eggs tasted as if they had been mixed with something odd, had been pre-done and sitting there for a few hours under a heater - just not fresh. We were not served any bread, the espresso was bitter, the white-looking substance that was cheese (I think), I didn't even touch. But on the flip side, the salmon was good. Breakfast for two: £25

We chose Novellino and they did not disappoint. From A - Z our experience was fantastic. In a packed restaurant we waited less than 5 minutes for them to arrange a table for us and quickly came over with menus, bread and water. We quickly ordered a bunch of dishes, pictured below and as well, they were super fast with bringing them out of the kitchen. The tuna carpaccio was incredible. Perfect taste and texture. My second best dish was the Mediterranean pasta, an absolute must get. Perfectly Al dente with amazing spices and veggies in the dish. Wow. We did love the fish and chips too. I loved that they use a true authentic British batter. And dessert was no less amazing. I can't wait for my next trip to London, so I can dine here again.

Service is super professional and on point. The food comes out fast (almost too fast), and is perfectly cooked. Everything smells so wonderful and spicy. We started with the okra fries, which were decent but nothing special. The garlic naan was surprisingly plain and lacked the strong garlic flavor I was expecting. The grilled masala prawns were quite small and tasted just okay. I also ordered the Chicken Ruby, but it reminded me of a basic butter chicken recipe that I've made at home. The biggest disappointment was the famous Black Daal. Since it's one of Dishoom's signature dishes, I expected something exceptional, but I found it overrated and not particularly memorable. The highlight of the meal was the roti wrap, which I did enjoy. I appreciated that the chai comes with free refills, which was a nice touch. Overall, I think Dishoom is overrated. Maybe it's because I prefer bolder, spicier flavors, but the food felt quite mild and didn't justify all the praise I'd heard. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't see myself returning.

After being poorly for over 5 days, I had to skip the bottomless Sunday brunch which allows you to drink as much for just £18 (select drinks). The breakfast is supremely unhealthy, I mean I absolutely loved it but this will not be a regular place. I am more of a poached egg on granary roast sort of girl, which most of the times is a luxury. There options are plenty many however they do only waffles (both sweet and savoury) and no toast. I swapped the scrambled egg with poached egg and added an avocado as an extra. My breakfast was therefore, savoury waffles with smoked salmon, cream cheese, poached eggs and crispy capers with extra avocados. I complete devoured my brunch after being hungry for just over 3 hours. The food was great, something different from standard Sunday brunch. However, due to the healthiness quotient, I will not frequent this place and only treat myself maybe once in good few months. The staff were friendly and quick. The general vibe of the place was great. Would highly recommend for anyone to go at least once.
