This company is probably only able to handle garbage service. We've had no issue until this year's yard waste. Within the first month we had to contact 3 times to request a pick up even if we paid for weekly service. They told us they would take 20 bags the next week for free. Who the hell keep 20bags of yard waste on their property? If I don't call in I assume they would take 1000 bags at the end of the year. Now they don't give a shit to calls and emails. Their door to door salesman came to my house and offered me a deal on starting new garbage collection service. I was told I would get 2 months free, 2 recycling bins, and 1 garbage bin totaling $15/month. He went through the breakdown or charges for me and I trusted him. He said I would have to do nothing with my current garbage service as they will take care of it all. This was all a lie to get me to sign up. I did not receive my recycling bins, did not get my current services cancelled, and did not receive my free months. When I called into their customer service and explained this the agent told me she could not do anything for me. I asked for a manager and was told they were busy and will call me back. I asked for a name and was denied. I asked to have my services cancelled immediately and was told I needed to give them 30 days notice and would have to pay for those 30 days and any prorated days. I told the agent this was not disclosed to me and she had the audacity to tell me I should have checked their website!! The agent just hangs up on me. I was assertive but NOT rude. I was frustrated. Have not gotten a call back from anyone yet. Curbside, this is NOT how you should conduct business. I would give them -10 stars if I could. STAY AWAY! read more

Absolutely horrendous customer service and unethical as well. Hennepin county recently mandated organic waste recycling and so we requested a bin from curbside. Then I sent an email. Then called. Then called again. And now called again today. We have no bin and they have still not called me back. Bear in mind they are collecting fees from me for this service. I don't write many reviews. In fact, if I write a review it's typically positive, because I own multiple businesses and I typically give people the benefit of the doubt for not great service. CURBSIDE mislead us in their door to door sales call. In fact, I'm stunned at how they don't care and how broken they are as an organization. I was told by the door to door sales person when I signed on that their leaf removal and light yard debris would be picked up every week and that all we had to do was put the bags at the end of the driveway. I set the bags out and they didn't pick them up, a week later, the same thing... I called and they said I need a bin, I told them I was never informed I needed a bin and that I did not want one, because 9 months out of the year it would be stored in my garage and I don't have room for it. The customer service person then said to put on the side of my house. I said, I have a fully landscaped yard and I don't want a bin on the side of my house I only use 3 months our of the year during leaf season. She told me, "That's where I put my and so do many of our clients" in a very snappy tone. Keep in mind all I wanted to do was call them up and tell them I wanted my bags picked up and that I didn't want a bin. I told them they could save money by me not having the overhead of a bin being used at my house that I would only need 3 months out of the year. I had 30 bags of leaves that they failed to pickup and then they told me the dump was not taking anymore leaf debris. The driver drove by the bags for two weeks while everyone else in my neighborhoods services where picking up their leaves. They then told me that they would be picking up the leaf debris in the spring. I told them I wanted to cancel my service and then she went on to replay that it would be $200 to cancel, because I had signed a contract. I told her I was happy to because I had to pay another service $150 to pickup 30 bags of debris that they did not pick up. The leaf bags sat for over a month. CURBSIDE never told be I needed a mandatory Leaf Debris bin. CURBSIDE was never on time and some days they never showed up. Some days they would show up at 8am, next day 3:30pm, next day noon, next day they wouldn't show... I never knew when to pull our trash bin from the edge of our 80 ft driveway. CURBSIDE didn't even care I was going to leave this review. Customer service did nothing to right their wrong. Not even an attempt. This explains their 1 star rating on 80+ reviews on YELP. We have since moved to SWS (SouthWest Suburban), a stellar waste management service that's invisible. They have been pleasant to work with and mentioned they had A LOT of people coming from CURBSIDE. read more

A Curbside Waste driver hit and destroyed my mailbox, and drove off without notifying me. Only after being confronted with an eye witness did Curbside admit fault. Said they'd take care of it. Then they dodged my calls and rarely responded to my messages for months. Responses to said messages were filled with empty promises of "getting to it later this week, or early next week." It took literally filing a police report for them to actually come out and half ass replace the damaged property. The replacement is embarrassing to look at and will have to be replaced at my expense in order to get done properly. We signed up with Curbside Waste about 3 months ago. In that time, they have not picked up our recycling without us having to call them several times on the week of pickup. Even when we call them for pickup, they sometimes don't pick it up. We have gone one month without recycling pickup now. When we called last week after they didn't pick it up, they said they would send someone to pick it up and have a manager call us by 12/2/24. No one has called us and no one picked up the recycling. We have left several messages with the only people we can speak with requesting a manager to call us, and no one has ever called. When we said we were going to go back to our old waste management company, they said we were going to have to pay the cancelling fee of 200.00. Being they didn't honor the contract, we shouldn't have to pay anything. This has been the worst experience I've ever encountered. read more

He pressed on and things ended with me saying I'm not signing up for anything tonight but if he wants to take my info I'd be happy to discuss it over the phone at a later date. He agreed, one month later, never received a call, a bin shows up on my driveway and come to find out with the info he took down he decided to sign me up regardless. Curbside required autopay for my contract, and doubled the charge just one year into a two-year contract. When I saw the increase, I thought I must have been mistaken about a two-year contract, and it was just a one-year. Five payments later (there are 6 payments a year) I dug up the contract and saw it had indeed been a two-year "Rate Lock" and by then I had over paid by nearly $180. I called to cancel service in 30 days and was told they do not pro-rate and would not refund the $30 for the second half of the pay period. They could give me a credit but no refund. A manager explained that if they gave refunds, they wouldn't be able to offer competitive rates. So they are saying that they take your money even when no services are rendered and this is why they can offer low rates. read more

There was supposed to be a 1 day delay after July 4 holiday. Trash has been on the curb for 6 days. Continually calling and there's always at least 20 people waiting ahead of me. They were 0 for 3. First, the said they would cancel my existing service, and they failed. Two months later I put my garbage out in their container for the first time, and they didn't pick it up. They claimed it wasn't on the curb, and it was 100% out there. The following week, they missed pickup again. Now, they are 0 for 3 on things they are supposed to do. After they had failed to live up to any of their obligations they were contractually obligated to do, they want to charge me a cancelation fee of $200. Well, they may get their money, but it will cost them much more than $200 to get it. read more

This is a ridiculous company. I have called them 4 times regarding this issue. The previous owners of the house I recently purchased left 2 Curbside Waste bins at the home. One has leaves in it (not a yard waste can), and because of this the company will not pick up this bin telling me 1) it is a hazard on the freeway and 2) the garbage bin with the leaves in it is contaminated. I 100% support not transporting full bins on a freeway. What I do not agree with is their customer service rep telling me, "Jesus himself would tell you the same thing." To be fair, I was so frustrated before that I had raised my voice in complete frustration and that was his response to me, so I hung up on him so I did not yell any further. He did not deserve that no matter what inane policy he has to enforce. I then called back and asked to speak to a manager who told me it is my responsibility to empty their bin with the leaves, then wait a month for yard waste to come to pick up the leaves, then charge me for it because my house is not on their yard waste route, and only then will they pick up the bin. She told me that my second option is to contact my real estate agent who needs to contact the seller's real estate agent who then needs to contact the seller to figure something out. Really? I would give this company a rating of zero if I could. I signed up for yard waste removal and paid my up front charge for the season. They missed my first pick up (which was supposed to be on Monday) and 8 phone calls later, it has still not been picked up. Not only have we not had access to our yard waste because it is full and we can not put anymore in it, but they have our money, and we have had no service. This is a horrible company all around. Not only is their service bad (they don't fully empty your bins and leave yard waste in front of your driveway, the trucks have repeatedly damaged the bins and the company refuses to repair or replace- even when the entire top to the bin fell into the garbage truck and drive away! We dealt with a broken bin for 3 weeks (continuously calling and emailing, only to be told that they would be coming to replace the bin that following Friday). After sitting with the broken bin for a month, we decided to switch companies. not only did we find out we were paying more than DOUBLE with Curbside, we quickly realized what horrible company this business truly is. They continued to lie to us about removing the bins once our service was canceled, claiming we never placed them at the curb (we have cameras to prove they've been at the curb for 2+ weeks). Have had Curbside Waste for 3.5 years. We are out in the country and have a long driveway. As a result we've had "drive up service" where for an extra fee the driver comes up to the house. It was going okay until the last year or so. Inconsistent service and lately after customer service said they'd "leave a note" for the driver (to pick up the trash) the can was left down by the street. This means the driver(s) on more than one occasion drove up the long driveway, took the garbage can and purposely drove it back down and left it by the mailbox. After inquiring about this the company is claiming they "left the can where they found it" (total fabrication). Why would I pay extra to have the garbage picked up at the house and then leave it down by the mailbox? Does not even make sense. How hard is it to pick up a customer's garbage at their house and go on your merry way? To add insult to injury now the company is not only believing this lie by the driver(s) they state they are "parting ways" and issuing a refund check. The true test of a company is how well they handle problems. In this case, if you complain about drivers being passive aggressive they drop you. Outrageous and extremely unprofessional. If you research their online reviews (Nextdoor, the BBB etc.) you'll see they have absolutely terrible reviews. Any good review you read is fake (especially Google) and should not be believed. Apparently they realize their reputation is so bad that they have to get people to make up positive reviews to compensate for all the bad ones. If they simply did their jobs and treated customers with respect they could easily earn positive reviews. Instead, they punish customers for informing them of their poor service. In addition, the extra time and expense of paying customer service to deal with all of these complaints is costing them a lot! They need to read the book "A complaint is a gift". It discusses how companies save a lot of money by simply listening to complaints and fixing problems. They'd rather bury their head in the sand and fire customers. Wow. Smh. STAY FAR AWAY! P.S. After reading the responses by the "owner" Deon R I am equally disappointed. He and his manager consistently say "if you are genuinely having problems" and encourages people to contact customer service. Firstly, what an insulting thing to say "if you are genuinely". Why would people make it up? Who has time for that? Secondly, if they actually read the review with the care they pretend to have they'd see that people are constantly trying to contact customer service and getting no results. I have never ever read a comment by an owner or management saying "if you are genuinely having problems". Incredible they'd actually think that makes them look good. Does quite the opposite, just no one is willing to say so and posters can't reply to a comment. I can mail the company a copy of the above mentioned "A complaint is a gift" if that'd be helpful. I've been a Curbside Waste customer for 4 yrs. Signed up on a 2yr deal in '18 at an introductory low rate which readjusted last year. Very good service overall. In fact, our driver "Fred" is a hard worker, is kind, and is very courteous (definitely a "keeper"). However, I just saw my bill increased by a lot. I also saw poor CS reviews here on Yelp. So, I was concerned calling Curbside's CS department. But I have to say, I just had a great experience reviewing my bill with Jade B. (CS agent). She understood our pricing concerns. She adjusted the new pricing which was a mistake given the amount of increase and gave us a new lower price as long as we signed up for 2 more years . We gladly accepted. Rewarding loyalty is a very good business practice. As Walter Wriston (former Citicorp Chairman & CEO) once said: "Capital goes where it's welcome and stays where it's treated best." Get an additional bill in the mail for yardwaste separately. (Not what was discussed or explained, which makes this slightly more expensive for what I had. Was on a great grandfathered plan which I can't get anymore. With Ace I had better service and no missed pick ups) Called in, and the women proceeded to tell me I'm in a contract. That she didn't want to agree with me since it would make the sales guy a liar?.... Then explained that cancellation would cost "x" since I was in a contract. Before I even mentioned cancelation. Just had another very poor experience with their customer service, this time it was agent Brian. Spoke to him that I had purchased the Christmas tree pick up and that they were to come out and pick up the tree last week. When I told him that I had followed all the requirements he seemed frustrated and basically said ok and hung up on me. No apology or anything for the inconvenience. This is not the first time I have had poor customer service there either, but I think the first time with Brian. This service used to be so much cheaper that it was worth it to deal with the crappy customer service.
