Staff were friendly to each other more than just polite. They acted like family, bantered, joked, and helped each other out. The physicians here are approachable and are always willing to offer advice. The surgeons I had the pleasure of working with taught when they could and offered insight into the field. For students coming to rotate through, get here early at 7-7:30 am that's when the first cases would start and usually if you show interest they will let you choose the cases you want to see. Eg interested in ortho they'll have you scrub in on all the ortho cases. The physicians lounge is for doctors but often times the doctors will tell you to grab lunch at this lounge. Food here is different everyday and has a variety of options and on the side there is a build your own salad station. Fridge is stocked full of drinks mostly soda though. Remember to be considerate and clear your own tables. Recommendation: you get what you put in.

And as a nursing mom, I needed a comfortable and safe place to pump. Unfortunately, it took me almost an hour to find someone who knew where the Lactation Room was or even that it existed. When I finally reached the room, it was perfect! Quiet, calming and appropriately decorated with thoughtfully selected nursing mom artwork. It had all the essentials, including a refrigerator, comfortable chair, breast pads, and milk storage bags. It can be challenging as a breastfeeding mom, as there aren't many places that truly support this. While society promotes breastfeeding and its benefits, designated spaces needed for moms to comfortably nurse scarce. Spaces like this really warmed my heart. If you're ever in SMH ask for house supervisor and they'll direct you to the lactation room. Happy pumping!

From my initial check-in with Ms. Mickey to the pre-operative care provided by Ms. Regina and the recovery nurse, Ms. Breann, the experience was exceptionally pleasant. The staff made the entire process significantly easier to manage. While I was aware of what to expect during recovery, their efforts to ensure my comfort were truly commendable. Dr. Gurtner is an excellent physician, and I appreciate her straightforward approach to my condition. She ensured I was well-informed about the procedure, although, of course, no preparation can fully account for the postoperative period. The staff at SMH East consistently provides healthcare services of the highest quality. I have been a patient at these two hospitals since the 1970s, and the standard of care has remained consistently excellent, regardless of the name change.

The nurses took top quality care of me for the three days I was there, and one of the nurses even called me two days afterwards to see how I was doing. If i wouldnt have made a comment, no one would have cleaned up the linen or emptied the trash...of course they are trying to rush her out of the room because insurance only wants to pay for 3 nights. The floor looks like it has not been mopped in months. The staff is lazy, unprofessional and will misdiagnose you but wants you to come back and pay another fee if your symptoms have not improved within 3 days. They give me scam vibes. The nursing staff is probably the reason nursing is not considered a professional anymore because every staff member is sitting on their lazy ass. The staff members work on demon time, rude, act like they hate their job and not friendly at all. Most of them should be fired and the clinic needs to be shut down because they are clearly running a shit show up in there. ONCE AGAIN, HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
