We stopped in here as we needed a little sweet from eating a heavy italian meal across the street. We got two mini cupcakes (one each). I had the lemon one and it was tasty - the frosting was amazing but the cake itself was a little dry and not as dense or moist as I expected. Not a fan, sorry. First of all the service was rude. I am super sorry to be so blunt but I have no other way of describing it. The person serving me barked at me without any reason. In addition he was annoyed that I was asking for a box for my cupcakes. Secondly and more importantly the cupcakes were dry and not tasty at all. I have no issues paying a premium for a good cupcake but if you get crappy service and crappy quality I'll pass in the future. read more

Let me preface this by admitting what seems to be a character flaw: I don't really like cake, in any form. It's just not my thing. However, every once in a while, we'll find something cake-like that is EXCEPTIONALLY good and I am persuaded to try the object in question. Cue a visit to Zurich, and a stop in at a Cupcake Affair. Their cupcake towers and miniatures are so damn cute! Beautifully decorated, they're made for editorials. We grabbed some miniatures to go and since I LOVE passion fruit, I figured I should at least try the little passion fruit cupcake. I am so happy I did--it was delicious! read more

Got a selection of their 6 mini cupcakes to take way. I picked 3 flavours: tiramisu, salted caramel and the vanilla one. My favourite was by far the tiramisu that was well flavoured but the other ones weren't that good. The person who attended was courteous and the looked cute although empty. Not sure if I can recommend it but if you are around, try the tiramisu cupcake and enjoy! read more

If you need your cupcake fix (or some really yummy presents for those special somebodies), this is your only real option in Zurich. :-) The cupcakes are great, not too sweet and made with lots of love - just perfect, very moreish! The little shop's service is great due to Melanie, the shop's owner, serving everybody directly. She also speaks fluent English, a definite plus. Her selection is quite delicious, ranging from "Marilyn Monroe" (chocolate cake with raspberries and a raspberry topping - you just so know that's going to work!) to more interesting combinations like a Chai cake with a fleur de sel and caramell topping. Attention! BEST Cupcakes in town. Addiction potential is very high and everytime you pass by or see the sign u gonna turn in. Very friendly and vintage fashioned style inside with a great choice of diffrent cupcakes. All of them looks very fresh and delicious. You can order small or large size. Prize is a bit higher then other cupcake stores but ok for this good.quality. Furthermore they sell every month or special events as halloweeen or christmas diffrent seasonal cupcakes. I tasted about 12 cupcakes so far and allm of them got a thrilling and awesome tasty. Once they did some "cocktail" cupcakes with mojito flavor. While in Zurich, I was on a mission to find a peanut butter dessert (not sure why, but I was having a wicked craving for peanut butter ice cream or mousse or anything with that creamy, yummy goodness) - Lucky for me, I spotted Cupcake Affair. They have these adorable, bite-size mini cupcakes in a variety of flavors, including Yes - peanut butter. I had a PB cupcake, while the husband had a caramel and sea salt mini. Extraordinary cupcake, cutest names for flavors--unrelated to flavor, but still cute, very friendly staff. Prices aren't the best, but the flavor and quality is... so it all balances out. Packaging is also very detail oriented and cute. A must for Zurich visitors! read more

I came to this place with my children who love cupcakes and daughters who bake. They were very excited to try the expensive specialty cupcakes. We were really disappointed. The cupcakes were dry and the frosting was too sweet. Worst than cupcakes made from box-mix. Annoying given how much we paid for them. read more

In terms of taste, the cupcakes at this place are truly top-notch. Both the red velvet cupcake, as well as the vanilla cupcake with the chocolate frosting are insanely tasteful and could hardly be better. They do come at a hefty CHF 5.90 each though, so best savor each bite. I think they make for a great gift for special occasions, though, as they also come in 'cute' boxes and are easy to transport. Unfortunately, the selection is pretty limited to just a few constant choices and then a daily rotating one. It is understandable though, since the store is pretty small and offering a bigger selection would probably lead to wastage issues.. read more
