I do love a good itison deal, as does my bezzy mate as it happens so I was fair chuffed when she got me one for Afternoon Tea at Cup Tea Garden as part of my birthday, yay!
We struggled to get booked in (weekends already full when we phoned, clearly a popular deal! Plus, it's not the biggest of venues to begin with) so decided a day off work was called for ;-)
(Unless you know it's there, you'd probably never stumble across Cup Tea Garden as its tucked away in Virginia Court, a wee lane between Miller Street and Virginia Street.)
The deal included the choice of 3 Hendricks tea pots or a glass of Prosecco each (we opted for Prosecco being girls what lunched! They arrived promptly and in such gorgeous glasses too) and the usual sandwich, scone, cake and cupcake style stand; my friend had recently been told she was wheat intolerant but this wasn't an issue for them and she was brought her own wheat-free selection at no extra cost. Bonus point for that!
There was a nice mix of crustless bread and brioche sandwiches, scones were tasty (if a little oddly shaped lol) and cakes pretty good too. Sadly we couldn't finish it all so asked to take away our last cake each, staff were only too happy to oblige!
The deal also included tea or coffee; I figured it'd be Americano or Americano coffee-wise but nope, flat white was included too, oh yeah! And a decent one at that!
All in, a really enjoyable afternoon, with friendly and helpful staff. They have outdoor seating in the courtyard too which is an added bonus!
Oh and...come night time, the Tea Garden transforms into Virginia Bar & Rotisserie, and like its sister bar (Gin71) specialises in all things gin woop! read more
