I've seen many blokes shop here as car accessories, tools and products are way cheaper than most automotive outlets. The four legged friends are not forgotten too. Pet lovers can pick up a bargain as cute toys, bedding and pet accessories are aplenty. Clutter free fans will go crazy over storage boxes. It doesn't appear to…read morebe for a charity, but prices are so cheap that I can't really see it as a place for people who want to make wads of folding money. The only other possibility I can think of is that the owners/workers are passionate about thrift in general, or maybe about recycling and cutting down waste, but I really don't know. Whatever their motives the result is an op shop that has items that are dirt cheap. I often find myself scurrying quickly away from the place in case they change their mind and charge me double on my items--that's right, a whole 80 cents, that's almost a $1! There is even an area outside and to the right of the entrance that has a sign "FREE" where items are free for people to take. No matter how many times you double check, they really mean it, that area is free. From the free zone I've wombled home wine glasses and shoe preservation boxes. Inside the store is three rooms: one for clothes, one for kitchenalia, and one for bric-a-brac and books. They've said they also have a furniture section but if there is one I couldn't work out how to get there but my guess is that it is next door to the main shop.

As if it doesn't already have enough stuff, somehow there's always more room available for Xmas decorations of all sorts. I always manage to find something to buy in here whether it's a microfibre cloth, wrapping paper, a screw driver and anything else I don't want to pay full price for at the supermarket. Le Cheap also sells shopping trolleys in funky colours at much cheaper prices than buying them at the central market! Basically, if you're not averse to buying from cheap shops there are real bargains to be had, plus they have come a long way to being accepted into main stream shopping. Remember that buying from a name brand shop doesn't mean it isn't going to break as soon as you use it.

They have loads of stuff from kitchen and home wares, to toys, books, and everything else you'd expect in such a store. There are a couple of stores in Adelaide, and the staff are helpful in that if there is something you want that they don't have they'll ring the other store to see if they have it.

The prescription I just had filled was cheaper than usual and there were discount stickers on products across the store. There is a clear system for dropping off, collecting and paying for prescriptions which allows them to deal with a lot of people in a fluid manner. It's fun browsing here as the range is huge. Vitamins, supplements, perfume, dental, haircare, makeup, first aid and so much more. It's so busy that I just recommend not going in if you've got a headache, unless of course you're going to buy a headache remedy - they've got plenty of those!

The Lions Club of Brighton volunteers are friendly and helpful and wander around in yellow and navy uniforms to pay and assist. Although most are quite a bit older than me, they're all fun and easy to talk to, always ready for a chit chat or a joke. They're good eggs. The sale operates for fundraising purposes for the club and the many charity and motivational programs that it runs. They can give change but I'd bring some. If you want some absolute steals then I suggest getting there as close to 9am as possible, as along with op-shop enthusiasts, antique/second-hand dealers also know about this sale and tend to get in right on the gate's opening. This place has a massive range of bric-a-brac, furniture, tools, books, records and clothes (see photos), so chances are if you are looking for something in particular it will be there, or show up one Sunday. Despite the place having everything, it also has a big turnover of goods/donations and each Sunday it'll have one of a kind items (the like of which you will not get elsewhere). It's not the place to consider buying something, it won't be there again when you go back. For example, Sunday a month ago I considered buying this giant Statue of David alcohol bottle and this Sunday looked, nope, not there. What was there this Sunday for me was a vintage chrome and formica sewing table for $5, a hat with a $250 tag still inside also for $5, and an amazing jacket that makes me look the business. I also bought a replacement guitar hero guitar for my brother which they've said if it doesn't work I can return to the bookshop on Thursday. On Thursdays during the week the Lions Club of Brighton run the bookshop portion of this sale. Some hard to find books are here and everything is labelled and in separate sections for easy browsing.

Not any longer! I found out recently that if you have an RAA membership or work for a non-profit organisation such as a school, sporting or a social club you can apply. All you need to is download the application and show your cards or documentation. Check out their website for more details. Now, what will you find in this gigantic warehouse? Well, it is like a giant supermarket really. You will find everything you need like toiletries, pasta, canned tuna, spices, soft drinks, etc. You can buy items singly or in bulk. What is the price difference you ask? Well, to save money you want to buy in bulk, that is where to true savings are. But, if you want single items you still have a bit in comparison to a normal supermarket. So, let's just say you have a party coming up and you need paper plates, cups, forks, party pies, lollies, chips, etc. You can buy all those items and more really well priced here. This is my one stop party shop. Just yesterday I needed a bunch of popcorn kernels and paper bags for an event. I really need to buy bulk items to feed a lot of people. I purchased 500 paper bags for $8 and 12 bags of 375g popcorn kernels for $10. That is pretty good! It might surprise you to know that you can purchase good quality fresh meat and vegetables here as well. Great place to shop for Christmas dinner to save some money. So, if you meet the criteria to get a membership it is worth checking out if you have a big party coming up! Or if you like buying in bulk to save money.

What I really needed was a lot of really, really cheap tape. Cheap stores were selling rolls at $2.50 p/unit. Campbell's Cash and Carry hit back at $1 p/unit. Right on. If you consume any item in bulk, this is the place to come. I'm talking Red Bull, Extra Chewing Gum, Neapolitan Icecream, toilet paper, condoms, Skittles, whatever. The lolly aisle alone is bigger than my local Foodland. Don't lose your shit when you get in there, stay calm. Get your bearings. Get to know the aisles - cruise for bargains before committing. Don't go crazy, you don't need a four litre bottle of chocolate syrup. But the more you buy, the cheaper the unit price. To get cheaper bargains, you need an ABN. No sweat, anyone can get one - sort yourself out online.
