I don't know what all these negative reviews are about. Competing businesses maybe? I was recommended this company from a friend, so gave them a try. Spoke to a very nice sounding girl on the phone who setup my appointment. Fast forward to the appointment date, and the tech arrived on time/evaluated/and set me up with my own Fort Knox system. I haven't been robbed yet, so I can't tell you how well it works, but when I did call and have a question about the system, it was immediately answered over the phone for me. Customer service is like impossible to get anymore, so this was a ray of sunshine in the hell that is my life. I sleep better at night knowing my place is protected from hard core republicans with their guns, and democrats with their BS feelings. The control panel started beeping last night. The error message said the battery had to be replacedi in a door monitor, I replaced the battery. Twice. Both new batteries recently purchased. The error message remained and the beeping, two beeps every minute, continued. I called the support number listed on the control panel. They said they couldn't help me but could connect me to the Cunningham maintenance service. The collective wisdom of the two calls was that nothing could be done, and that sometimes it can take 24 hours for the control panel to recognize the new battery. I made these calls two additional times, until finally, on the third round, 11 hours after the initial call, at 11:00 o'clock tonight, the person who answered the call to Cunningham maintenance asked if I wanted help immediately, and I said yes and was told a maintenance tech would call. The tech called, and told me the control box entry I could make to silence the endless beeping. I've been with Cunningham for something like 15 years, and have every confidence in their fire and burglary alarm systems. However, the company's management needs to consider this accounting. Someone on the first call to the maintenance department should have been kind and gracious enough to help me. As it is, as confident as I am in the alarm systems I am unconfident that the people on the other end of my phone calls are sufficiently trained to give their customers the courteous consideration we all deserve. read more

We had an amazing experience with Cunningham Security. We were upgrading our services and there were a couple of snafus, and everyone went up and beyond to help us. 1. Our first tech Chalmers stayed past 5pm on a Friday to try to figure things out for us. 2. Our second tech Karl fixed our lock installation (we installed a new smart lock) so that it would fully extend, as this was erroring out. 3. Kate, who managed the entire operation, was amazing and responsive. She helped me through each of the step and answered all of my questions within hours. Super helpful overall! read more

Amazing company. I needed to get set up with a security system ASAP and they worked around my schedule to get the job done. I had to have an additional fire strobe light installed to pass inspection, they moved around their schedule to get it done in so short notice. The crew that came was so professional and punctual. Watch the fine print - or in my case NO print! I had an estimate which sounded very reasonable, even an onsite visit which went well. In the original estimate, there was an option to add one item - which I did - but then they charged me MORE THAN TWICE the amount stated for that item by using hidden and unstated costs in addition!! In the end, my final bill was more than 3X the original estimate, which I had signed. Had they stated what the bill would come to including all their hidden costs, I would have said no way. When I confronted them, they did not back down and there was no reasonableness or effort to save the situation. Many hidden costs that were never stated either verbally or in writing, including $90 per hour to drive to my house and back?? What the heck? Did I pay for him to grab lunch on the way too? What has happened to Cunningham Security? We have been clients for more than 20 years. Recent updates to the system -- new control panel and door sensors--have been a comedy of errors. Rotating techs coming out, no one knowing what the previous person had done. Multiple phone calls to the service center, no notes taken from previous conversation. Update information disregarded. Delays and misinformation call after call. Ready to jump to another option, if they don't get their communications together. read more

I wish I could give them 0 stars. The service is AWFUL. The last 3x my alarm went off, it took 8-10 minutes for the monitoring company to call us. Once the person even called us back a second time to re-ask for our password because they forgot to record it! I have complained about this several times and they arrange for a service call, at my expense. After "tweaking" this or that, they say it is fixed. But the next time the alarm goes off, it still takes at least 8 minutes for the monitoring people to call. Had to switch to another company. Stay away or your home will either burn down or be robbed. read more

SOS Security Systems used to be a very reliable and efficient company. Now that Cunningham Security Systems has taken over, it's a different story. Their techs do not seem as proficient as they should be in the various systems out there. They could not find the problem with my system, so they wanted to replace the entire system. It wasn't until I told them to cancel my service that the tech said that "maybe there is a way fix the problem and keep your equipment" I canceled anyway and got another company to get it working. Then they sent me a bill for a service call from over a year ago that I was told at the time that I would not be charged because it was a repeat visit that was their fault. This kind vindictive behavior (to punish me for canceling service) speaks volumes about the business practices of people that are running Cunningham Security. Plenty of good security companies out there.....I would stay away from this one! read more
