I have…read morecontacted Jason on two occasions about two separate issues, and both times he responded with a thorough and thoughtful assessment of my issue and potential next steps. In both instances, I was dealing with unreasonably punitive medical companies and frustrated by how much the cards seemed stacked against me. I came away from my interactions with Jason empowered by the options he made me aware of. Jason clearly cares about people and about ensuring they aren't taken advantage of by faceless companies. He is the voice of reason, and I highly recommend him to anyone who ends up in the unreasonable world of collections (or any unreasonable world for that matter). This is the guy you want in your corner. Thank you, Jason! p.s. I second what other reviewers have said about Jason being professional, caring, compassionate, awesome, an activist, and life coach. Also the reviewer who said he restored her faith in humanity. These superlatives are well-earned, he is indeed that good.

I feel he also came off demeaning and made me feel stupid and embarrassed. I was not looking for free legal help, I was looking for clarification and if my case was under the scope of his practice. I was not upset that he couldn't take my case. I work in the legal field and understand how the process works. I learned additional information and asked Jason if that was under his scope of practice, and was not looking for additional legal advice or any advice, just asking if he could take on my case. Again, my issue is not that he couldn't take on my case, my issue is that I felt he came off demeaning and how I was treated. I will not be reaching out again for any reason.

I am thoroughly disgusted with Attorney Chi Nguyen's lack of professionalism and communication…read more I found her through Yelp in July 2025 with glowing reviews. After a July 4th consultation, I hired her to handle my parenting plan matter (not my protection order, though she gave advice on that too). What followed was one of the worst professional experiences I've ever had. Here are the main issues: Never in court - She never once appeared in person, only via Zoom. We paid her the same as anyone else, yet she didn't show up physically. Unprofessional appearance - On Zoom, she dressed in casual T-shirts, not courtroom-appropriate attire. Paralegal overseas - The paralegal assigned to our case (Bernard) was working permanently out of the country. This made direct communication about our case nearly impossible. Bad legal advice & dishonesty - She advised my child to drop a protection order to "help" with a 50/50 parenting plan, then denied ever giving that advice in court. This damaged our case. Unprepared in court - Judges were visibly frustrated with her lack of preparation and awareness of required next steps. Communication failures - She ignored the client portal (where we receive notifications) and instead sent critical updates by regular email, which caused us to miss deadlines and hearings. Documents were submitted incorrectly and late, resulting in continuances, sanctions, and extra costs we had to pay ($700). Recent failure - For a GAL hearing, financial documents we sent in late August were submitted at the last minute. She failed to consult us on which GAL we preferred, leaving us blindsided in court. We left court feeling defeated every single time. Yesterday's hearing was the final straw--we fired her immediately. Hiring an attorney is stressful enough; you need someone professional, prepared, and communicative. Chi Nguyen was none of these. Do not hire her. I only gave 1 star because Yelp wouldn't let me submit my review without doing it.

I consulted Nidal Dirini at Helsell Fetterman for a WLAD discrimination case against a state…read moreagency. While the firm did waive the consultation fee after I explained my financial situation, I had concerns about the contingency agreement and the process overall: Fee Structure: The contract required me to pay 33-45% of the total recovery, including any court-awarded attorney fees. At the time, I didn't realize that under WLAD, defendants are supposed to pay attorney fees separately from damages. After my consultation, I did my own research and learned this is known as "double-dipping," which can significantly reduce a client's net recovery. Case Valuation: During our conversation, Nidal told me he did not see my claim reaching six figures. He seemed to undervalue the potential of my case, which prompted me to do more research on my own. Later, I discovered published cases like Snell v. DSHS, where plaintiffs in similar or even weaker positions received much larger verdicts. Contract Terms: I found the firm was not flexible on contract terms related to medical liens, termination penalties, or interest rates-terms I now know are important for client protection. Second Opinion: Weeks/months later after our discussion, I requested to speak with another attorney at the firm who specialized in employment law. I did not receive a response, which left me feeling unsupported. For anyone considering this firm: Make sure you understand how court-awarded attorney fees will be handled in your case. Do your own research on case values and contract terms. Be aware that you may not get a second opinion if you disagree with the initial assessment. I only give 1-star or 5-star reviews-pass or fail. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this firm for WLAD discrimination cases.

This review is for Scott Johnson at Helsell Fetterman LLP…read more Scott has represented our transportation company for over ten years. Scott He has negotiated company purchase agreements/buy-outs, assisted us with real estate matters and handled our environmental concerns. Scott is our go-to person whenever we have a legal issue to solve. Scott is one of a kind. He is very skilled in the law, measured and deliberate. He only renders an opinion after consideration and a lot of detail-oriented thoughtful work/research. He is super-efficient and extremely generous when it comes to billing. He can relate to all different kinds of people and explains concepts and concerns patiently and honestly. Scott has saved our transportation company hundreds of thousands of dollars. His judgement and advice have been time- tested and proven to be 100% correct. Scott sometimes declines legal work we offer him when it is outside his area of expertise/comfort zone. Luckily, his referrals have proven to be great, resulting in additional successful outcomes.

I had a similar experience to other reviewers. It's been…read moremore than 1 year since we filed a divorce, but I am still not completely over about how it went although our case was as simple as it could be. No kids or property. I would like to share some of the most memorable events. So memorable that I saw other clients names and made me worried my personal information was not protected. - There was some mixed up with filing. We got two case numbers and one of them was filed under our names, but the documents attached to the case was for another couple. She blamed the system change of the court. - I asked for the progress update since our case was so delayed. She responded with a photo taken by her phone, in which was her blurry computer screen showing similar name to mine, but not the same. - We got a letter from the court saying they were confused about who was getting a divorce. Turned out our divorce paper had someone else's name and address listed in one spot instead of my ex's. So total I learned 5 strangers names and an address. In the end, Liz wanted to do nothing but us to clean up the mess since it's "free service", so I went to the court and asked for help. The family law facilitator was great. She quickly fixed all the mistakes Liz had made (there were many), and she asked who my lawyer was. I gave Liz's full name and business name. She responded, "Oh yea, she is very helpful, right?"

UPDATE (4/8/25): the business has responded in a comment that could be read to suggest that I am…read moreinvolved in a "smear campaign" and that a judge has ruled on this: I assure you, while that may be true for other reviews, I am just an aggrieved party who has no resolution. Libelous comments notwithstanding, I only want Liz & Jeff to hear the feedback and take it to heart. Do yourself a favor and steer clear. The other 1-star reviews are spot on and mirror my experience so well that it feels personal. Liz will gaslight you. She will claim technical issues. She will claim that you made a mistake, that they've never offered such-and-such service (even if you have a receipt for it). She will say that she has everything she needs to finish everything up in one email and then 3 minutes later say: "I don't have any record of that" or more probably just ignore you. Her services are reasonably basic, but we had the expectation that Liz would know the process and that she'd help shepherd things through the system so we didn't have to deal with administrivia on top of our emotional divorce. You will be required to pay upfront -- of course. Liz will schedule a call where she goes through things, talks -- at length -- about this/that/and the other thing. She'll build your confidence in her by saying: "The commissioners are looking for something like 'x'" or "I've seen a lot of people get tripped up by doing 'y' you should do 'x' instead". She'll ask you some questions about splitting up assets or parenting plans. You might even come away from that first session feeling, kind of okay, but I'm afraid that will be the last time that feeling happens during this process. Liz talks a big game, but really she just trots out a template that has none of what you'd said or agreed upon. It feels as though you and your soon-to-be ex-spouse imagined the call you were on and now you have to do it all over again via email. She will waste your time. You'll send an email and she'll respond a week later with a quick question. You reply back nearly instantly and won't hear anything for a month or more. So you ask about status, try to follow up, ask for an update, and she will be completely silent. Once you do get a hold of her she'll be completely stunned that you misunderstood everything that's been going on. Liz will make this process -- however bad it is -- much much worse. When you look at her website, you'd be forgiven for thinking "she's just bad at the Internet" or "she's trying to optimize for search engine ranking". That's just how she'll write to you or speak to you. Stream of consciousness; rambling 5000 word essays that you'll read over and over trying to extract a morsel of knowledge only to realize you understand less afterward than you did before. Reading the reviews, it seems like in prior years they were doing much better. People had been happy with their services. I know from my 16-month (and continuing) ordeal that they are both in a very different state of mind than the previous reviews would lead you to believe. I truly hope that Liz and Jeff find the help and support they need to get through what is clearly a very difficult time in their lives.
