My son playing during Free Play.

My son began attending Cumorah kids in Mid December 2021. During this time my son was speaking very little for being 3 years old. He adjusted to the new environment in a matter of weeks. His speech has improved so much since starting at Cumorah. He is currently in the process of being potty trained with Miss Pearl. I'm so grateful for all the ladies who work here. They greet them with such a big and warm smiles. I feel so comfortable dropping him off and knowing he is in good hands. It gives me peace of mind that he is in a secure location with a pin code needed to enter. The teacher updates me via text or the app. If I have any questions, I can always text to check in. Miss Pearl will often send pictures of how he is doing. If you're considering enrolling your child. DO IT! Don't think twice!

Highest Kinder Award / Reader

It was always an issue to find someone to take care of my son when he was 2 because I had no help with my children. I had several people recommending Cumorah Kids and shortly after my other kids started there at the age of 2 as well. Cumorah Kids is one of the BEST Schools/Daycare in the City of Pico Rivera. Depending on the age of your child , there's a class for each age group going up to Kindergarten. Cumorah does not stop curriculum therefore , if your child is eager to learn, they have no problem teaching. My kids are now older and obviously don't attend Cumorah anymore , but my kids continue to be over achievers in all subject areas. My youngest who is freshly out of Cumorah has been reading over 300plus High Frequency words and in Kinder you only need 100 and is the Top Reader of there program. His teachers always thank me , but I always say "Cumorah Kids taught him well!!!!" Cumorah is more like family , now that I spent the last decade of my boys attending there. So glad that we've kept in touch and my sisters kids and other families I recommended go there and shared the same experience. HUGE Thank you to The owner Miss Rose for everything. To the teachers Miss Sandy , Miss Justine , Miss Susan and Miss Julie , Miss Tina and Miss Belem ,We appreciate and Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If Give Cumorah more 5 Stars

If I could give this place 100 stars I would! I first found out about Cumorah Kids in 2010 when my little brother and little sister attended there. In 2016 I enrolled my daughter and she excelled and made transitioning into a traditional school that much easier. I love that this is not just a daycare but they focus on a curriculum that they would normally get in TK as toddlers. In 2021 I enrolled my son who was very shy, non-verbal at 2 years old. In the 9 months that he has attended Cumorah by baby boy has learned so many words and communicates his needs/wants whereas before he would get frustrated trying to do so. I am so happy with Ms. Rose, Ms. Pearl, Ms. Justine, and Ms. Paula, they truly love the kids. They are in great hands, I recommend this facility to everyone. We unfortunately moved out of the area but would have loved to continue my sons care here. This is the best daycare and if ever move back this is where we will go.

Having breakfast in class before the schedule starts.

When making the decision to take our son there, my husband and I visited about five or more daycares. Although we were not first-time parents, it would be our first time leaving our third child in a daycare. The minute we walked into Ms. Maral's Academy, it felt right. It was very inviting and organized. She answered all our questions and put us at ease. Bright Steps Academy has been so instrumental for my son's development and learning. He comes home singing the alphabet, the days of the week, the numbers in English and Spanish and tells stories about his daily learning. From the home-made food, healthy snacks, daily kids activities, the librarian coming in to read stories, to potty training and naps and so many more to name a few. Parents are kept informed through an app and one can see pictures of the activities happening on certain days. Ms. Maral, we are forever grateful that we found Bright Steps Academy. My daughter was playing and even felt comfortable letting Mrs Alexis hold her. She didn't rush us through the tour and answered every question we had. As soon as we left, my husband and I both looked at each other and felt this is it. When we drop her off now, it feels like leaving her with family. He started attending Nido when he was around 9 months old and is building so many life skills such as independence (eating with a spoon or fork, drinking from a cup without even spilling, listening and doing simple commands like putting something away, picking something up, closing the door, etc.) I also noticed his concentration when he's playing with things at home or when we're at the dining table. I could go on and on about the things I notice him doing since starting at Nido. My son loves going to school each day and he adores his Montessori guide, Ms. Maria. She is very attentive and I appreciate that she really observes each child. She communicates well and her school is a true Montessori environment. She is always available whenever we have any questions. I definitely learn so much from her as I try to incorporate more of the Montessori philosophy at home and as a parent. She always emphasizes how she's there to work together with the parents for the child to benefit the most. We wished we could've start our first child with the Montessori philosophy earlier on because I can see how beneficial it is in life. I don't feel like I drop off my son to a "daycare". It's a Montessori school where the children "work", learn, and have fun.

From the very beginning, Eagles Nest has been a loving, nurturing, and professional environment where children are genuinely cared for and celebrated. The staff is highly educated, experienced, and deeply committed to each child's growth -- academically, socially, and emotionally. Their dedication shows in everything they do. Our daughter has flourished here. She is happy, confident, and excited to go to school each day. She has built meaningful friendships and formed beautiful bonds with her teachers, who have shown her patience, encouragement, and kindness every step of the way. The curriculum is thoughtful and engaging, and the special events they incorporate throughout the year truly make families feel involved and connected. What stands out most is the heart of this school. The teachers and administrators are willing to work closely with families, offering support and guidance through behavioral challenges or learning struggles with compassion and professionalism. They truly partner with parents, and that makes all the difference. As we approach her final year at Eagles Nest, we already feel emotional knowing she will soon be moving on. This school has been such a special and foundational part of her early childhood, and we are so grateful for the love and care they have poured into her over these years. We wholeheartedly and highly recommend Eagles Nest Preschool to any family looking for a warm, structured, and supportive place for their child to grow and thrive. Until the age of two, we were able to nurture his love of creativity through art, get him engaged in reading and music, and keep him active and independent while learning at home, but his social-emotional growth needed a community like Modern Schoolhouse to truly develop. We met another family at his favorite playground that had an AMAZING experience at Modern Schoolhouse and their daughter, who was academically gifted and raised with similar philosophies, was thriving under their care. We enrolled and discovered for ourselves that Modern Schoolhouse was indeed an absolute gem for child development. Our son entered after turning two, and he was very shy/reserved at the time. The talking, dancing, singing, bilingual artist that blew us away with his funny ideas and love of learning at home, needed help expressing himself in the larger group. Over the next several years, Leonardo was able to grow and thrive his ability to emotionally self-regulate, from having a 'safe space' at home to being able to identify what he was feeling and how to 'calm his body,' to listening to others and respecting common space. What we didn't anticipate was not just the top quality of the school, the clean aesthetic spaces, and the exceptional teachers (Teacher Alicia from class 3 was truly amazing!!), but also the like minded and kind community that became a key part of our son's social life. During our son's first years at home, we studied Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia- instituting some principles of each in our approach at home. It wasn't until we met Sue and her philosophies at Modern Schoolhouse did we see some of these same philosophies embodied in an American child care setting; and we must have interviewed or toured at 5 or more local schools before finding Modern Schoolhouse. The core beliefs consist of the idea that children are competent, capable, curious individuals with hundreds of ways of self expression. The role of the school and family should be creating a structured, clean, and aesthetic environment that is conducive stimulating exploration and discovery. Teachers in this sense guide and foster collaboration rather than just 'delivering information.' Giving our son a new challenge was hard at first, but Sue and her staff were quick to offer suggestions and outside resources so we could reinforce some lessons at home, especially around his development of social/emotional skills like managing anger, dealing with disappointment, and learning to communicate when he needed space. He also was given the chance to learn how to build relationships and have positive interactions with new friends. Each 'season' and month had different themes that would be clearly delivered in monthly/quarterly emails along with chances to meet with teachers on child progress in key development areas of language, tracing, use of scissors, how to put on shoes/jackets, counting, class participation/listening, and emotional self expression. By class 3 (3 years old and above), our son was giving 'show and tell' presentations, using the 'sharing bee' to discuss their weekend, and playing inventive games to stimulate imagination and curiosity. Through the use of brightwheel, we were always shown photos and videos of our son having fun with friends and doing some fun activity. The school also offered many events at the school such as the "annual art show," "parent and me" day, and music sessions from Teacher Gaia culminating in a student led music performance (the cutest!). This year all the 4 classes made their own animal costumes and acted out various Disney themes. It was extraordinary to see him flourish and thrive under Teacher Alicia in class 3, who is truly remarkable for her ability to connect to kids and meet them where they are on the journey. By the end he was more confident in his presentations and even singing his favorite Disney songs Karaoke style to the class! Everything ended on a wonderful note with his graduation and small speech to parents and the graduating class. We were given an opportunity for a graduation photoshoot and his 'family book' with messages from all of the teachers as a keepsake that he created during his time there. As he graduated before many of the others in class 3, everyone created a special hand painted art for him with with the handprints of all his friends. It is bittersweet to go onto the next chapter, but he graduated school scoring high in every single metric of development, and he easily was interviewed and accepted into an international private school. Thanks you for being such a key part of his childhood journey and we hope to stay in touch with Leonardo and our growing family!

Initially, we had some concerns about starting him so young, but it quickly became clear that enrolling him early was the right choice. He is truly thriving--emotionally, mentally, and intellectually. The curriculum at TMS is incredibly well thought out. Each activity clearly connects to the weekly or daily theme, and we've seen real growth in our son's development. He's starting to learn the alphabet and has become much more verbal since he began. What stands out even more is how happy our child is at TMS. Every photo we receive through the app shows him smiling, and we always feel confident dropping him off, knowing he's in caring and capable hands. The teachers, staff, and owner (Sue) are exceptional. Our son absolutely adores his teachers and lights up when we mention their names in the morning. Even though he's usually very attached to us, he was so excited to see his teacher at the Annual Art Show that he practically leaped from my arms to greet her. That kind of connection is exactly what every parent hopes for in a school: a place where your child feels loved and supported. On top of all this, the school is extremely clean. Our son has hardly been sick, and we've noticed how attentive the staff is to hygiene--little ones always have their noses wiped, diapers changed very frequently and the environment is clearly well-maintained. TMS is far beyond a typical daycare--it's a place where our child is growing, learning, and genuinely happy.
