We couldn't have found a better school After researching dozens of schools and many tours, we always came right back to Mulberry Tree Preschool! Our initial feeling, was "wow, this really looks like a home, so clean, and the staff is so friendly. Is this a dream?" Pinched ourselves and then started filling out the paperwork for our son to attend. We are extremely happy with his progress in the classroom. I give a special shout out to all the staff and my sons teachers, you guys are the best! We have the twins on the waiting list.

Ask the Community - Mulberry Tree Preschool

Does anyone know if there is a different website? The one posted is not working.

The school is under new ownership. Not sure if the new owner will create a website.

How much do they charge for one child?

I suggest contacting the school for exact prices. I know it also depends on your childs age.

Can anyone tell me about how long they were on the waiting list? My daughter is 2.5 years old and I would like her to start at age 3. I have no idea how enrollment works.

My son was in the waiting list for 5 months.

Can anyone tell me how to get the names of your Kindergarten class of 1956? I am interested in the names of those who attended. Thank you.

    Confused

Hello, I was wondering what your rate is for a 2 year old.. no potty trained.. but in the process.. for Monday-Friday from 7:30AM until 5:30PM? Thank you!

Check the website for rates or call the school.

Unfortunately, there wasn't space for both of my children at the same time. My children have been to two schools prior to this one: Cornerstone Preschool, which was amazing until they were horrendously not (long story); and Gateway Montessori, which was also really good in terms of what I look for in a center. However, I never stopped following up with LLEA because I knew it was my dream school for my children. Eventually they informed me that there was space, and I transferred my children so quickly and have never looked back. My children have been attending since November 2024. They are AMAZING!! The teachers. The management staff. The owner. The facility. The curriculum. The academics. The fun!!! I can go on and on. I absolutely love this school and would recommend it to any parent or individual that is looking for work in a preschool. I had some challenges with my daughter's behavior, and rather than kicking my daughter out like Cornerstone Preschool did, they worked with us! Tried developmentally appropriate skills that I recommended, that they recommended, and that the owner (who is knowledgeable in child development) recommended. When all else failed, they held an SST with us and referred us to a third party that could provide in-house assistance (like a one-on-one with my daughter). They even allowed me in the facility to observe my daughter through the one-way mirror, and I was able to implement some changes with her based on what I observed. My daughter is doing SO well now. She's in their TK program this year and has made such great strides in her behavior. Even the teachers and owner are so impressed with her. This school genuinely cares about their students, and I can see such a difference between when a school genuinely cares about the successes and well-being of all students rather than just the well -behaved ones. I LOVE this school. They're an absolute God-send.

A True Blessing for Our Family…read more Carden Academy has truly been a blessing for our two children. We came from a Catholic school and had been trying to make the transition to Carden for some time, but the difference in monthly tuition always made us hesitate. Eventually, we decided that prioritizing our children's education, smaller classroom sizes, and individualized attention was worth the sacrifice--and from the very first day, we knew we had made the right decision. One of the biggest differences we noticed was how much our children are actually learning and engaging. We wanted a school where they weren't simply completing assignments on an iPad or relying heavily on programs like i-Ready, but where they were being truly taught, challenged, and encouraged to think. At Carden, our kids are reading actual books, writing, participating, and receiving the personal attention they need to grow academically and confidently. Mrs. Carrion and the entire Carden staff are absolutely amazing. They genuinely care about the children and take the time to know their students and their families. The environment is warm, personal, and welcoming, and the staff is always approachable. Our daughter is only 4 years old, and we are amazed by how well she can already express herself and communicate her thoughts. Watching both of our children grow in confidence, independence, and academics has made every sacrifice completely worth it. I'm so excited to continue making this investment in their education because I can see how hard they both work--and I truly believe the high expectations, strong academics, and personal attention at Carden are helping them become stronger, more confident students. We are so grateful we made the decision to choose Carden Academy. It truly feels like our children are exactly where they are meant to be! thank you Carden

The teachers truly know their students and invest in both their educational and personal growth. The curriculum is rigorous and prepares students exceptionally well for high school and beyond. Communication with families is excellent, and the administration is approachable, caring, and genuinely dedicated to the success of every student. The campus has a warm, family-like atmosphere where children are encouraged to challenge themselves while feeling supported. If you're looking for a private school that combines strong academics, high expectations, and a caring community, I highly recommend Carden Academy of Whittier. We are grateful to be part of such a special school.

When concerns are raised, communication is handled in a dismissive manner rather than through collaboration or dialogue. Parent input is acknowledged superficially, key points are bypassed, and agreements made at the classroom level are not upheld at the executive level. After receiving an assessment that did not accurately reflect our child's abilities (completed less than two months into enrollment), we raised concerns about the lack of context, narrative, and communication. The teachers acknowledged the assessment was not an accurate reflection of her capabilities and agreed it should be updated to reflect her short acclimation period and current capabilities. However, when this was escalated to the Executive Director, those agreements were disregarded. Rather than updating the assessment as discussed, leadership insisted on singling out a child instead of correcting an administrative misstep. Requests to simply revise the original assessment with accurate context were dismissed. When we expressed concern about the long-term academic implications of having an inaccurate student record, we were dismissed. The Executive Director superficially acknowledged our concerns, and reasonable requests were met with inflexibility rather than problem-solving. A school's culture is shaped from the top. If families are leaving, leadership may want to reflect on how parent advocacy is received and addressed.

I also want to give honorable mentions to Ms. Katrina and Ms. Jasmine, two outstanding teachers who help my son feel safe while making learning fun every single day. Before attending this school, my son struggled with eating independently and socializing. Now, he is so much more confident -- he eats on his own, uses more words to express what he wants, and is far more open to making friends. The growth we've seen has been incredible. Every day they have crafts and activities related to the theme of what they are learning about that week. They have events for holidays and invite the families regularly (Mother's Day, Father's Day, family picnics, Christmas concerts).
