I was blessed to be given the responsibility of caring for my 18 month old granddaughter and was in need of a daycare. We enrolled my two year old daughter here because she needed more structure and wanted to be around other kiddos her age and it has been one of the best decisions we've ever made. She has been attending 3 days a week for only 2 months and she has grown so much! She went from saying 1-2 words to now putting full sentences together and counting to 10. We love Whittier Kindercare! Our infant son has been at Kindercare since he was 4 months old, and he has been enjoying his time at this daycare. Gauging from our son's happy disposition whenever he gets dropped off at daycare, we feel satisfied and confident that he is well taken care of. The infant teachers (Miss Marlene, Miss Nancy, Miss Valerie and Miss Angie) are all great and you can tell that they love being around babies! They are vigilant about having a routine for the babies, doing activities to help hit their milestones, while also ensuring the babies are having fun. They regularly send updates and pictures of what my baby is doing through the app. If there is a problem- for instance if baby is not feeling well, etc., they let me know right away by either messaging me or giving me a call. Kindercare also has an open door policy, so you are free to come by anytime to check in or pick up/drop off your baby. The Whittier KinderCare director, Miss Maricruz, is also wonderful. She is friendly, accommodating, and if she's not in her office I always see her roaming around the center checking in on everyone and ensuring nothing funky or strange is going on. Safety is also big at this daycare; each parent gets a door code (parents are required NOT to share this code with anyone else). Overall, my husband and I have been very happy with the level of care that my son is getting at this daycare. I love KinderCare Whittier. They have such great teachers (my child was in the class with Ms. Tina and Ms. Rosalie) and the Director, Ms. Maricruz, are amazing. My daughter started coming here when she turned one. A year and a half later, tomorrow is her last day. This place was a great start for my daughter and I feel very lucky to have had the experience that I had. I was really nervous for my 3 year old to start daycare/school but Kindercare has been amazing and I'm glad we chose to enroll him here. He had a hard first few days but it was the normal part of adjusting to being away from home. after a week, he was totally fine and looked forward to school. When he started school, he refused to use the toilet but after a few weeks of watching other kids use the potty, he decided on his own to sit on the toilet and it's been great since. I also love that Kindercare provides a summer activity schedule because I bring it up to my son and build up the excitement. We had to take our kids there for a week for back up care from their ordinary day care and while every parent is nervous taking their kids to a new place for the first time, Kindercare whittier knocked it out of the park and exceeded our expectations. To be honest our kids preferred this center over the one we send our kids to. Our kids felt welcomed and appreciated and I could tell each day when I dropped them off and picked them up that all the teachers and other kids really connected with them. My 3 children have been coming to kindercare since they were 2/3 they are now 6 and 7. I love all the teachers here. They have always treated my children like family and that's something hard to find nowadays. I would not change anything about this daycare I love everyone especially the center director Mari Cruz. DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD THEIR!!! THEY MISS TREAT THE KIDS AND MAKE FUN OF THEM!! My niece has problems drinking milk fast. When my niece was drinking her milk a teacher walked by my niece and said "hurry up your standing their like a statue" and it automatically made my niece full uncomfortable so she told us. THEN!!! My niece has gotten lice and they NEVER LET ANY OF OF THE PARENTS KNOW THEIR KIDS MIGHT HAVE LICE!! SO THEY NEVER CHECKED ANY OF THE CHILDRENS HEADS AND THEY LIED AND SAID THEY DID!! I asked a parent of they received a letter saying their child was exposed to lice and they said no WHEN THE DISTRICT MANAGER SAID SHE DID!! THEY LET MY NIECE GO BACK TO SCHOOL WITHOUT CHECKING HER HEAD!! Basically she could of still had lice and they didn't care!! They do not care about the children!!! Don't take your child their!!!! They are not good teachers!!! Actually the school director is no good! And the teacher was caught telling a child "why are you telling your mom what I tell you" and I told the school manager and they did NOTHING!! read more

My kids have been attending KC in Whittier for almost 2 years. My husband and I have been extremely happy with the center and so have my kids. However, today when I walked in the Pre-K class to pick up my daughter, I walked while my daughter was "showing the class a magic trick". I stood there to see her act and her teacher was sitting on the rug giving her attention as well like the rest of the kids. When my daughter was done demonstrating her 20 second "act". They all applauded and she gave a bow with such excitement and confidence. That touched my heart and brought happy tears. When your child prefers to go to Kindercare instead of being with mom and dad, you know Kindercare is a lot of fun. I wanted to take the time to write a review about my experience so far with Kindercare Whittier. As all parents know, leaving your child with new people at a new place is extremely nerve racking. The director, Maricruz, put all my husband and my worries to rest. When I reached out trying to get information on this location she responded within minutes and scheduled us for a tour the next day. When we arrived, out temperatures were taken and recorded and every staff member we encountered was wearing a mask. Maricruz really took her time showing us all the different classrooms and play areas. She was thorough when going over the handbook and patiently answered all of our questions. When we left our daughter wanted to stay and start school right then. This place already feels like family and our daughter has her first day tomorrow! read more

I chose this kindergarten in four kindergartens. After three visits, I decided to register. Every time I go to kindergarten, the children of the school will take the initiative to say hello to me. My daughter has been studying at school for three weeks. I especially like the enthusiasm and dedication of the teacher. The teacher is very patient with the children. My son attended Whittier KinderCare from 7 months old to almost 2 years old. I searched for quite some time for the right daycare and I found Whittier KinderCare to be good. Brandy is a really great assistant director, I always felt as though she really cares and she will follow up on anything you speak to her about. A few things: Infants class: Miss Vivian and Miss Angie were definitely very attentive and loving with the babies. Overall, some of the daycare workers were more attentive than others. Some daycare workers were lazy, although most others were great and very caring. Discovery Preschool class: Miss Eileen is a great teacher and was also very caring with the kids. She always remained calm and attentive with the kids. Miss Keisha is another favorite and she was always so active and had so much energy playing with the kids all day. Additional comments: The reason I did not give a full 5 points is because there were quite a few mornings where I did not feel fully supported by the staff during morning drop-offs. If my son would get clingy or cry at drop-off in the mornings, two different daycare workers made insensitive comments on separate occasions about him crying - calling him a "mama's boy" or saying that I shouldn't baby him so much - instead of assisting me and trying to comfort him or hold him!! (My son is known to be an easy child overall with a good temperament/personality, he's usually always smiling or laughing throughout his days). Also, although I felt that the overall safety was good...I didn't appreciate that some times the children (ages 1-2) would wander in the kitchen section of the Infants class. I felt as though it was unsafe and the latch on the kitchen door was broken a lot. Overall, I liked Whittier KinderCare and it was a "good" daycare for my son up until the age of 2 years. I just wished that some of the staff would get proper training on handling children's emotions. read more

My two children have been attending Kindercare for almost three years now,most of the teachers are always friendly and almost tend to offer a solution or suggestion to any behavioral issues or concerns that may arise. WORST PLACE EVER!! Stay FAR FAR AWAY!! I wish I had read this reviews before I took my son because those parents are SO right! Something awfully, awfully wrong is going on here! Thank goodness I only let my son go for 5 days before I rescued him out of there! It is normal for kids to have separation anxiety from their parents but that is not what is wrong here-it's something far, far worse. My son had terrible symptoms ever since the day he started; which he had never had before (he is the most easy going, happy, sociable baby). He started having nightmares and crying uncontrollably in his slee, waking up every 2 hours again, scared he would be alone, he started hitting his head on the floor and getting a bruise (he has never ever done anything like this!), he started putting non-food items in his mouth again, he started hitting (obviously a learned behavior from the day care, and come home with new scratches - I can't even explain how awful this place is! You have to trust your mom instincts and the signs from your child-the daycare tries to brainwash you saying "oh they just have to get used to it" blah blah um HELL NO!! When we would go pick him up it was almost as if he had been drugged or been given some sedative - his eyes were all glossed over and he didn't recognize us-it was the weirdest/scariest thing! He would scream and scream when we dropped him off, cry non-stop and latch to us begging us not to go-also clueing us in to how bad this place is. We are so glad we listened to our instincts and got him out of there ASAP!!! It had taken a little over a week away, but the behaviors are gone now and he is back to his happy self thank goodness!!
