Hello Dan, Dr Daniel A Pike DVM…read more I'm contacting you because of the rude experience I had this morning with your receptionist around 8:55a. First words out of her mouth were, "WHAT are you here for?" You and I both know that a receptionists first phrase should have "hello" and "help you" in it. Not to mention the gentleman behind rolling his eyes with me at her. Then his eyes got as big as plates because of what she did. Your receptionist and another lady came to make excuses and blame comcast for them not answering calls while I was sitting in your parking lot. The two of them came back out again to tell me that Rick was not coming out. My reply was, "who is Rick, I didn't have a appointment with Rick, I have an appointment with the owner." Your receptionist replied," Ohh, dr Dan is not here today." Great, your receptionist who made the appointment(5/7/25@11:37a) with you is now telling me you are not here. My reply after all of that was, "well, you better find someone who is." I next watched your manager, front manager who came out to tell me that she can make an appointment with you and that she, "isn't a doctor." I said, "that's obvious, you're not wearing the right clothes." She then defended bad actions and doesn't want me harassing her receptionist. My reply, "You go ahead and make that appointment and I'll contact him(you) about this." The front manager then said she knows the truth about comcast and I'm the one lying. I laughed at her, "so you know that Daniel wanted a place to park in the shade so he bought the building next door." The building next door that comcast, back when comcast was a phone company that covered Dover, signed a deal with the ower of that building so comcast can't be kicked out of Dover. To all the doubters out there. I can say it because I was there. I watched Daniel park in the shade by the building and asked if he wasn't worried about getting towed. He replied, no, I'm not! For you to not be worried then you'd have to own it..... He got a smile from ear to ear. That is when their(Dover Area Animal Hospital) phone problems started, and have continued for over two decades! They knew it would be a problem and did it anyway. Their excuses are exactly that, excuses. I see you and only you, outside, because of those two and there constant problem causing. Maybe David, in a pinch. When I'm at Sunday's I hear good things about David and you. Your receptionists and their manager, people have a lot to say about them. I don't care if it's a woman or a man or something in between, as long as they do their job correctly. I miss your mother being there. This would never have happened. Our first experience with the company was in the early 80's, for our goats. David and you have a great reputation around here. Unfortunately your receptionists and there manager have the opposite reputation. This was written at 10:23a this morning, being sent now. This will be copied and mailed also. Fyi: To the people who think they see smiles. They are not smiles, they are shit-grins, laughing at you. Respectfully waiting for your reply,

On March 17 she had her first vet visit with Compassion Animal Hospital for loss of appetite. Her bloodwork was not great and she was prescribed antibiotics and steroids for a possible infection. Since then she has not eaten much on her own and I've been syringe feeding her daily. We've had multiple rechecks with only throwing more medicine at her and no real solution. Fast forward to this past Monday we took her back yet again due to her getting food in from a syringe because she had still not been eating but had not defecated in over a week. She was dropped off for the day and not once was she syringe fed at the hospital like I was told for the day. Ultrasound and radiographs appeared normal per vet. We picked her up and headed home. She was started back on the antibiotics that they had not given her that day. What was the point of keeping her if you were gonna let her sit in a cage all day and do NOTHING. I syringe fed her that evening and gave antibiotic. Within minutes she collapsed and was rushed back to the vet. She was admitted and a feeding tube was placed. Her anemia was worse and she was given a blood transfusion. Next 2 days she was showing improvement per vet. (Can be proven with texts) More active and pumping food in through her feeding tube. At 9:13 pm on 4/8 I received a call that she had another episode after feeding of collapsing and labored breathing. 3 options were given 1. Recheck in the morning to see if her anemia was worse 2. Transfer to an ER the next day where they could provide better care or 3. Euthanasia. At this point she was resting and I opted for option 1 to see what her levels were the next day and if they had dropped again to make the decision to humanely euthanize. At 9:54 pm I received the most heart breaking call. She had severely declined and was having labored breathing. He could have the technician that was in the clinic perform the euthanasia. Keep in mind no veterinarian was on site nor did they have any thought of going in. The vet did not think she would make it through the night and recommended euthanasia. I asked if I could head in to be with her in her last moments. (Keep in mind I live 3 minutes away) I was told "no" and he could give pain meds to get her through the night but would most likely pass away if I wanted to be present the next day. I was mortified by his comment. Who is ever told no they can't be with their dying pet as they cross over? I opted for euthanasia because I didn't want her to suffer anymore. Sweetpea was euthanized by a technician at a private practice with no Veterinarian on site which is against State Regulations. This veterinarian and his technician have done an unethical procedure and need to be called out. I was a veterinary technician for over 20 years and know the laws. I have proof of him stated a technician performed the procedure. As of this time while I writing this I have yet to hear "Sorry for your loss of Sweetpea" by this hospital. Not once in 3 weeks was it ever suggested to do a feeding tube prior to Monday night. Let's just continue to let her deteriorate. I did the best I could with feeding her daily and trying to keep her going. As of today at 9:54am to be exact, 12 hours after she passed I received a reminder email that she had a recheck for Friday April 10 at 4pm. Are you fuckin kidding me. Do your research on where you take your beloved fur babies for care. A formal complaint will be made to the State Veterinary Medical Board against this veterinarian Dr Andrew and technician Emily. Compassion Animal Hospital is a joke. DO BETTER!!!

She explained all the findings of the tests the day prior and explained options of medication for my dog. The ER wanted me to put her down right then and there, stating she would not make it through the night. Here we are a day later, and my dog is still here. Dr. Sara found issues that a previous vet should have found, and now that everything has been noted, we are taking a path of medication with hopes that the dog can have some more time in her life. I am so grateful that I did not listen to the ER staff and put her down. I went with my heart, which told me that it was not the time to do that!

I was ask to put a deposit down due to many cancellations or no shows, which I did. Since, I didn't want the puppies to wait so long between their vaccinations, I called my vet this morning. They are able to get us on next week. I called this morning to cancel the appointment and was told it may be too late to get my deposit back. Then I was told it would be given to the manager and may take some time to process. I have called a full 2months before their appointment and expect my refund. After this I would not recommend them, not if they treat new patients this way. Puppies can't wait 2 months between vaccines.
