Walked in to soggy cardboard coating the floor that I nearly tripped over. Walked back to the deli…read morewaited five minutes only for some crusty, gray-haired, grumpy deli employee to stroll over to the counter. Asked for a lunch sandwich at 9am and he started shaking his head. I told him never mind, and he called me a f****** idiot while I was walking out. Probably for the best- deli case was dirty and sandwich guy was very confused as to why a customer wouldn't choose to purchase their food food after he showed anger/disapproval while taking my order. If this guy can't understand his own social cues I have a hard time believing he's able to remember to wash his hands. Hope you guys can figure this out how to make the angry Q-Tip come to terms with the fact that working at a deli means making food when a customer asks them to.

The value was what you would expect from any other gas station, although I see gas as a crime of opportunity and don't really look for penny saving prices. (It would be much more expensive to be towed...)

What a delightful little addition to this community! The General Store re-opened late last year…read moreafter a lengthy hiatus and now some knowledgeable new management. It's certainly a fun stop for anyone motoring between Litchfield and Thomaston. We were drawn to the yummy deli sandwiches (try, for instance, the hot chicken patty) and snacks and the coffee. There are a few tables and chairs for relaxing over your food, and the porch has some really attractive chairs and sofas (too cool outdoors to try them yet). The store carries a modest number of groceries along with a variety of sweets and additional supplies like aspirins, etc. There's a friendly, inviting staff, and easy parking though better be prepared to walk up steps to get in. There is also a large meeting room on the ground floor complete with a commercial kitchen, perfect for groups needing same. Altogether, a joy to stop by, and we wish them well.

The Northfield General Store has finally returned! The shelves are stocked with basic necessities,…read moresnacks, and more! The deli offers fresh grinders and hard rolls with breakfast items to come. The service is fantastic. It's clear that a lot of thought and time went into this and it's been worth the wait! The tables in the front are absolutely perfect to sit and eat, chat or just enjoy the community.
