We have been customers of Cumberland Diamond Exchange for over 30 years. It is always a delight to walk into their store. The people are very polite and friendly. We have always had great service and fair prices. Recently, I took in my wedding set. It was not a ring that was purchased there. It was previously owned and we had bought it at an auction. The prongs holding the diamond had over time worn down. I had had them tipped prior, but I continued to have a problem with wearing down. The whole setting needed to be rebuilt. The jeweler there rebuilt the setting and it is beautiful. I have never been disappointed with repairs or purchases. I even had a pendant custom made there with three diamonds that had been in other settings. It was a perfect new piece for me. This store came highly recommended by our Insurance Agent. However, visit to this store turned out to be a real disappointment. They had a great selection of jewelry and great security but their services did not fill my needs. I had a beautiful Turkish white gold 2,5 karat diamond ring with several smaller diamonds around the setting. The ring was a family heirloom. Wanted to have it praised but their estimate was $500. Their explanation was that the diamonds were hand cut not laser cut. So I did not even bother. One woman can only wear so much jewelry in one lifetime, so I was planning to downsize, and offered several golden rings and a necklace for sale. Again I was not happy with their estimate. Newer have I ever felt so degraded! Entire visit left me questioning their integrity. read more

I've been a huge fan of the CDE since 2004. John has taken good care of us throughout the years. July 8th marked a significant date in my history and I recently made a purchase of 3 items. One thing that keeps my attention at CDE is quality. But in this case their service has exceeded my expectations over and over again! They LOST our original engagement ring and loose stones 3 weeks before our wedding after spending 9 months working with them on a custom his/hers design. Never will be working with them again as much as I wanted to have a local jeweler I could trust. Devastating, heartbreaking, and disappointing barely scratch the surface for all the feelings this process put us through. What an incredible local find! It had been 4 years since my last ring cleaning due to anxiety of bringing young kids into a jewelry shop. I bought a TAG watch (at another store in the northeast, and promptly broke it (by winding it in the evening) DOH! So I call the company and the tag representative wanted me to pay over $400. and send the watch in for repair. Before doing that I decided to inquire with my nearest local authorized dealer, Cumberland Diamond Exchange. Smart idea to go in there. They got the parts at no charge and got the watch fixed at at no charge. Essentially what they did is take a vested interest in me and made my problem theirs, even though I've never spent a dollar in the store! This level of customer service, is in my analysis so rare in any industry that I felt compelled to write my first yelp review. Next time I need jewelry or a watch I'm going there first. read more

One of the links in my Husband's David Yurman chain broke, and David Yurman wanted to send it to NY to be repaired and charge us $90 plus a service fee. I went to Solomon's first but the sales person made me feel extremely uncomfortable and even was insulted when I asked to see something a little less expensive than the HIGHEST priced "designer" settings that she would only show me. Just wanted to drop a quick note here to let everyone know about the outstanding service at CDE. I purchased an expensive wedding set from CDE in 2004. We moved away from Atlanta the following year. My wife noticed over the last weeks that some of the stones were getting loose since we hadn't gotten the ring serviced in years. I took her rings to a local jeweler to have the work done. The estimate for the service (tightening settings and polishing platinum) was almost $200. I called Beverly, our original salesperson, and explained our situation. She said that if we could get the rings to her (registered, insured mail) that she would take care of the rest. I sent the rings across country. She called when they arrived so we could relax. She called when she mailed them back. She even paid to have the rings overnighted so we could have them as soon as possible. All that this cost me was the cost to mail them!!! They paid to send them back to me and they honored the lifetime service agreement despite the fact that we live thousands of miles away. Many businesses would look at the likelihood of me spending $$$ over the coming years and tell me to take a flying leap. But not CDE. I had a wonderful experience with Cumberland Diamond Exchange. I had visited a few other jewelers before my brother-in-law recommended CDE to me, and I was blown away by what they had to offer. I walked in and was greeted by Marcus, who answered all my questions and helped me find the perfect diamond for my fiance. He showed me multiple diamonds and was very knowledgeable about each diamond that was shown to me.
