Although this deserves NO STARS, I had to choose one to post this...
In 2006, I was serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, stationed at Balad Air Base (Balad, Iraq). There were locals there on base - I bought a hand-made braided bracelet made of 3 types of gold (Very expensive) for my wife. This bracelet hold much sentimental value being that it was to present to her given I made it back home alive and well (as a result of countless mortar attacks and bombings).
Unfortunately, the bracelet was broken a couple of years later. We took the bracelet to several jewelry shops and they told us they could not fix it. We currently decided to take it to Kay since they are a large jewelry company. A few weeks ago my wife dropped it by the store and asked the same questions we asked everyone else: would they take a look at it and tell us if they can fix it and give us a quote. They had to send it off to their repair services. We went in store a few days ago and they have not heard back from their repair shop. We got a call the next day and was told they had it back and someone mended the bracelet. When we went in today, we saw that the bracelet was still partially unbraided and kinked. SOMEONE made an executive decision to not call us and let us know they could not repair it and then mended the broken piece to the clasp. They also had the NERVE to charge us and call it a "repair"!!!
No one wants to take accountability for this screw-up!
I told the store clerks I will deal with it via their corp office - they still charged me $74.20 for this botched attempt... and they also had the nerve to put on the receipt "Rebraid (Per Braid)" !!
I have spend THOUSANDS at Kay over the years and will no longer be spending any money at this company if this is not dealt with immediately! They opened a case for this and I need this taken care of now.
