I'd never heard of this restaurant before but after seeing the great reviews I figured I'd give it a try. First of all its incredibly clean, second, the employees are all very polite and last, the food is amazing and very reasonably priced. Burgers seem to be the main feature but I also saw fish meals and pot roast. I got a double bacon cheeseburger. It reminded me of a Steak n Shake burger but larger. It was very tasty but the side of Wisconsin cheese curds was the star of the meal. My wife got a pot roast sandwich which she raved about. We finished our meals off with custard desserts. My first introduction to Culver's was a number of years ago while driving across Wisconsin it was mid-afternoon and I was looking for a place to have a quick lunch and came across this small burger chain in Menomonie, WI. not really knowing what to expect I decided to give them a try. Tonight's experience was very similar in nature in a lot of ways almost Déjà vu, except I wasn't driving across Wisconsin, it wasn't the middle of the afternoon, I wasn't looking for a place to have a quick lunch, I sure I'm not in Menomonie and I knew exactly what to expect. After placing my order and finding a table in the corner, I looked at my order number "sixty-three" which meant nothing to me since there were less than a dozen customers in the restaurant, my order was promptly delivered to the table again nothing familiar, alarming or remotely strange, as I raised my burger and took my first bite Abbra-ca-dabra this burger was exactly how I remembered it, my first thought was no way could this burger be the exact burger I ordered years earlier, even the most diligent restaurant entrepreneur struggles to maintain this level of consistency over time. Every time we get food here, there's a problem. The most recent has kept us from going back. We went through the drive through, got our stuff and went home. I ordered a 10 piece shrimp basket and was given a 6piece. We drove back and explained this to them and were told to wait. 12mins later we get the shrimp and as this little asain girl is handing me the bags she yells at me, publically shaming me and calling me a liar. ....?!.... why would I lie about shrimp? Why would I leave the rest of the food home to get cold just to drive back over to wait for 4 shrimp.... no one would! I believe you should get what you pay for, so I went back. She litterally called me by name, in the middle of the restaurant to tell me I'm not welcome back and that "next time I better not lie." I've been waiting for this location to open for MONTHS, maybe even a year! I was so excited when I heard Central Florida was getting 5 Culvers Locations in 2015 - and now one's finally opened close enough to me (I still drove 40 minutes to get here). Was it worth it? You bet your buttered buns it was! I come from a family of Wisconsinites and we love nothing more than a dripping butterburger with a side of curds and a custard cup or malt. There have been various places in the Orlando area that have tried to do some of these things - A&W and The Moat (RIP) had curds, Steak & Shake has a butterburger, and BurgerFi, Ritters, and a few others had custard. But none had the trifecta, and none did it this well. Is it as good as Wisconsin? No, but then again, much of my enjoyment of the Culvers in WI is that I'm in Wisconsin at the time, so there's that. If you're not already a Culvers fan and want to know if you'll like the place, here's the rundown. Food is a mix of A&W fast food stores and Dairy Queen's menu with a few nods to Long John Silver's, KFC, and Arby's thrown in. Everything is made fresh and with higher quality ingredients than your standard fast food chain. REAL CHEESE on the burgers - sharp cheddar, too, none of this processed cheese food american cheese nonsense. Burgers are the star, but they have chicken, pulled pork, fish. Yes they have salads, but if you're coming here for a salad there's something wrong with you. The cheese curds are perfect, crispy outside with a nice textured breading (no soggy batter mush) and fried perfectly so the curds are just slightly melted but still have that "feel". The burgers are a bit thicker than your standard McD's patty and nice and juicy. Might be all the extra butter but I don't care if it's meat juice or butter runoff, it's pure delicious. By the way, if you haven't already guessed, none of this will make the "healthy foods" list but honestly, if you care about calories, sugar, fat or any of that nonsense, just keep driving. Your kind is not for this realm. They're packed for now, but it's worth the wait. Service was pretty quick considering the crowd and the fact that they looked to have double the staff because half of them were in training. Keep an eye on their website because the custard flavor of the day changes all the time and they have a calendar to give you a heads up for when your favorite comes around. They have chocolate and vanilla full time and yes, it's just as silky, rich, and creamy as good custard should be. I could keep waxing poetic on my love of this place, but I'm quite full after my meal and I feel a nap coming on. It soothes my soul that although I can't afford to take a vacation back to my beloved Wisconsin right now, I can visit a little piece of it any time I want. read more

Salads, Corn Dogs and the coveted Butterburger. This is one of the most delicious burgers you will ever eat, I promise you! Is it healthy you are looking for? You are really in the wrong place if it is. But, if you are not afraid to throw caution to the wind and enjoy one of God's many great gifts to humanity, you will love Culvers. My opinion: skip the fries and get the cheese curds. They are a Wisconsin staple, and you can get French fries anywhere....although, they do have very good fries. The atmosphere is a slightly nicer than average fast food place, but the service is terrific, the facilities are kept very clean, and you will definitely feel a bit of that Wisconsin charm. I also recommend taking a chance on Culvers very own Root Beer, which is free flowing from the fountain with all of their other soda options. They have a diet version as well. It is some very good Root Beer. After you have finished your large and delicious burger, try to leave room for the piece de resistance! The frozen custard. Another truly Wisconsin item, frozen custard is much like ice cream...but oh so much better. Silky smooth and super creamy, chocked full of flavor. You won't regret a single calorie. My favorites are Turtle, Red Raspberry and Classic Vanilla. The turtle sundae is completely amazeballs! This was my first trip to a Culvers! This location just opened three days ago and I couldn't have been more excited to check it out! The service was amazing! Although I went through the drive - thru, the service was kind, friendly, peppy, and knew everything about the menu. The food is pretty good. I haven't tried a burger, but I had my eyes on fried cheese curds, french fries, and a milkshake. The cheese curds were a mixture of yellow and white cheese and fried with a breading not a batter. The French fries is what brought the stars down a notch. They are crinkle cut which is good, and salty, also good....but had a weird fish taste-bad. Do they even serve fish? I don't know. But it was so strong that I didn't finish them. I probably ate four fries. The milkshake was also good but nothing spectacular. I had a vanilla milkshake with snickers mixed in. They have malts as well. Overall I thought it was good but it's your typical fast food. Nothing so amazing that I can say I was Blown away. Except maybe the customer service. read more

One of my wifes favorite places. We stopped in for dinner tonight. Very clean place with the staff working diligently the entire time we were there making sure it stayed that way. I had the cod fish dinner and my wife had the pot roast sandwich. We also had an order of Wisconsin cheese curds and yes they are authentic and very tasty. The fish was very flaky fresh and cooked well. The fries were a little soggy for my liking but they tasted good. My wifes sandwich as always is the most delicious ever, maybe a little bias on that but there it is. If you find a culver's near you give them a try the food is tasty and the service is pretty good for the price. It seems as if they upgrade our burger size or meal without letting me know & without me even asking just so they can make a quick buck. They even forgot the toppings I wanted on my burger. I've never been to a Culver's, but I decided to give it a chance because I had a coupon for a value basket. The menu is very unclear what you're paying for and how much the value meal is, but my coupon was for the value basket. I'm a vegetarian, so I asked if they could substitute a veggie burger. Sure, they said. That thing was super gross. Not only was it cold and they didn't put ketchup on it like I asked, the veggie patty was soggy and had the consistency of mashed potatoes when I bit into it. Also, with my $1.00 off coupon, it was still $10. For a cold, soggy veggie burger that I waited 15 minutes for. I can get a good veggie burger at Red Robin with bottomless fries with much better service for approximately the same price. I'm still not sure if I was charged correctly since I couldn't even locate a veggie burger on the menu, much less what the value basket was supposed to cost. So we went to go check out the new joint in town... In typical Port Orange fashion it was jam packed... Drive thru line wrapped around building... I parked and ran in to order to go... Great looking building and addition to Port Orange row. The line inside was just as packed... They just opened on the 25th and Port Orange loves to support new business. I eventually made my way up front to order and met very pleasant staff that took my order and gave me a number plate to wait for them to bring me my to go order.... 10 minutes later the sea of people cleared and I was left standing... The manager came over and asked what I was waiting for... I explained my order he apologized and said they would make me some fresh hot food. While waiting for it 2 separate employees came out with a bag and asked me if I had order X. Not mine... About 15 minutes after ordering I received my food. The manager and employee that brought food again apologized for delay and gave me free coupons for my next visit. They were very nice and appear to be going throw the training process new businesses face. New employees... Ton of curious customers... I was pleased they acknowledged me and impressed with the customer service provided when they realized I had been lost in the shuffle. We will be back to give them another shot. The food was good. Well, we had the worst experience here. Enough for me to revise my review and say "Been there, done that." Gabby offered the WORST customer service. She couldn't comprehend a "DOUBLE CHEDDAR CHEESEBURGER" kept asking "Is this a single, or a double and what kind of cheese?" Which we replied DOUBLE-CHEDAR CHEESE. Simple. But she couldn't understand that. She even replied "Wait, I'm confused." We answered her question multiple times, as simple as possible. She had no concept of basic common sense and lacked listening skills. We were not the only ones who had issues with her as we overhead an elderly couple asking about the Ice cream and coolers that Culvers offers. She had no clue about that and when they would ask questions she would shrug and give answers, but not to the questions she was asking. They finally had to tell her to get someone that knew the answers to their questions. I filled a survey out on our experience, was talking it over with my family and other staff overheard our comments. Instead of offering to get a manager, or offer basic customer service they just hovered around us eavesdropping. Then went back to Gabby, who we were going over the survey about and she started hovering. She even went as far to offer to take our food tray that still had food on it and that was being picked at by my kiddo. I put in my survey that I wanted to be contacted as more issues arose during this visit. I did receive a phone calls but whoever called failed to leave a voicemail, which is clear signs they couldn't care less about the poor customer service. It's clear to me that if a manager can't offer a sympathetic voice mail that this trickles down to the incompetence of training staff of teens and maybe young adults correctly. Even before we ordered with Gabby, she had a snotty attitude, didn't say hi, and wasn't friendly. We won't be back. I'll also send complaints up to corporate. read more

The reason they get five stars from me is the the customer service. They are so polite and go above and beyond. They keep the place clean even with a crazy lunch or dinner rush. Now to the food. The butter burgers are very good. There fries are always hot and fresh. The onion rings are some of the best around for fast food. And the topper on all of that is they have amazing frozen custard. They also have their own root beer that goes oh so well with that great custard. Then after a great meal they even come and clean of your table and take your tray of trash. They are fast food but a standout among their peers. Menu offers a great variety with something for everyone. Various burger options, fish sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, pot roast sandwich, Reuben,'etc. You could eat there everyday for lunch and not get tired of it because of the variety. Portion sizes are very good too. I love their French fries and of course their desserts. The concretes and custards along with shakes makes Culver's a destination all on it's own. Usually, the Port Orange location is very good on everything. I was incredibly disappointed that after biting into my burger I found it was under cooked and still pink inside. This is probably the best fast food restaurant I've ever been to. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted promptly and with a smile. The burgers are real-no frozen disc meat. I had the Butter-bun burger which I think is there original. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger that he said was amazing. The fries were hot and fresh. Your food is brought out to you and your order repeated back to you so they know it's right. The service here is on point! Being from Wisconsin I am familiar with Culvers and frequented my local Culvers in Wisconsin occasionally. We moved to Port Orange Last summer and I was pretty happy to see Culvers coming to Port Orange. This location is typical of my Culvers back home, it is always busy, but only because the service and food are top notch for a fast food restaurant. It has only been open for about a week and a half, however the traffic won't die down. This place isn't McDonald's, the food is cooked to order and tastes great. Culvers Custard is made fresh throughout the day and can't be beat. This owners have been present opening the door for customers 2 of the 3 times we have stopped here. If you like a great burger and great service then Culvers is worth a visit. I like to come here with my kiddo when I'm visiting family. They've got something for everybody- an extensive menu. An extensive fast food menu, yes, but extensive no less. And it's all pretty good. I tried the fried fish sandwich this time and was impressed. What a big flaky well fried piece of cod! The bread was meh, but the fish was *really* good. The burgers are yum, they're a bit heavy handed on the mustard, so, ask for it on the side of you want just a tiny bit. And the custard...oh lord.
