My son and I dropped in for dessert because of proximity to our hotel. What a surprise. I have never heard of Culver's being from the west coast. The soft serve sundaes are nothing short of heaven in a cup. My son graciously allowed me to taste his. Wow, quite good also. This is a tremendous indulgence for anyone wanting to just have a treat. While it is self serve style, they do bring the items to your table and the staff is very well trained in providing a gracious greeting to customers. The harvest veggie burger is decent for a vegetarian option. It is a lot of bread though but it is a tasty patty. It's a bit crumbly and made with corn and soy. I think it is a smidge pricey for a vegetarian burger ($8) but that said, I am glad there is a vegetarian option. The cheese curds are good although I did not have any this visit. Mom got a kid's corn dog and a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. It was plenty of food for her. It was all steaming hot and delivered to our table by a smiling polite girl. It's a chill atmosphere in the dining area. Some of the tables haven't been wiped off but we were just arriving after lunch time. I have had the fish in the past and not crazy about it. My brother ordered the four piece Buffalo chicken tenders basket to go. He says it is "some of the best Buffalo chicken tenders because of the Buffalo seasoning combined with the buttermilk ranch dip." He is very picky about his chicken. Multiple orders over a 3 week period were incomplete. The last year or so service has fallen short. Very polite and it's not difficult to correct but unfortunate that leaving the menu board on drive up with items ordered shown then receiving incomplete orders. I haven't been to a Culver's since I was a kid and this location did not disappoint! I was in town visiting family and stopped by late at night to grab a bite to eat. I ordered the cheese curds, the strawberry fields salad, and, of course, some custard. Everything was so incredibly fresh and delicious and I was in heaven for the entire meal. I was really surprised by how fresh the salad was! I highly recommend getting it with the raspberry vinaigrette The cheese curds were perfectly fried and squeaky- just how I like them. And the custard is just to die for. It is so incredibly creamy and fresh Wish they had Culver's out west! I would go all the time! read more

Drive-thru order: I've been to the Culver's in Rochester, New York, so when I saw this location, I was happy. I ordered the fish sandwich, fries and fruit punch. My husband had a cheese burger with bacon on it, fries, and lemonade. I wanted my fish friend extra, but it wasn't. It was kind of soft in the middle, so I end up recooking it. That's ok. I have to have my fish well done. They have their own tarter sauce too. Yummy! The fries were really fresh and delicious. My husband enjoyed his meal as well. New i went to ottawa and bought two cod dinners with the sides and when we got them they were missing the sides i went into the store and told them i didn't receive the order of fries and the order of cheese curds and a very young man turned around in front of a whole counter of people ordering and demanded he filled the order himself and the items were in my bag i stated they were not in my bag and i said would you like to see he said yes bring them back in he stated in front of everyone that people are stealing food everyday i brought the order back in and my items were waiting on the counter and i was embarrassed in front of everyone like i was a thief i called later to talk to manager and he was the manager accusing me of stealing food after purchasing the food for over forty dollars . After coming from Starved Rock this was the closet restaurant(that we actually like). I order the buffalo tenders and a peach lemonade cooler(pretty good). Our son had the kid's meal: cheese burger, fries and chocolate milk. My husband had the spicy chicken sandwich with fries and a Pepsi. Every thing was brought out fresh and hot. Wish one of these was in TX! The food (burger and fries) I ate during my first visit was delicious, and the Wisconsin cheese curds were amazing! My sister had the reuben and said it was great; she also got hooked on the cheese curds after tasting mine. I went back the next day to eat again. We came here for lunch after hiking at Starved Rock. It was at 1pm when we arrived. Pretty busy, but we were able to find seats for the 5 of us. Food came pretty quickly. They bring the food to your table after you order up front. I had the north atlantic cod meal with fries. My cod was mediocre. There was a lot of breading, and I barely enjoyed the fish. The bun was huge too..lots of carbs right there. I had to rip some of the bread off. The fries were good, though. My husband had the crispy chicken sandwich with mashed potatoes as his side. Crispy chicken is decent. The mashed potatoes were ehh, could be better. My other friends were content with their meal. It is fast food, so no big expectations. I would prefer going to McD's or Wendy's over Culver's though. My friends and I also noticed there were lots of females who are tanned...very dark. Not sure why though. Their skin is so tanned that some look brown, some orange.. one of my friend said it must be some kind of tanning convention in town that the ladies are so..tanned.. read more

Stopped here on our way home from Grizzly Jack's Grand Bear Resort in Utica. This is the cleanest Culvers I have ever visited. While I was there, one of the employees was washing the windows on the entrance doors. I love that attention to detail. This location also has very friendly and helpful employees. I live in Ottawa and this is by far my favorite place to eat. We have many other restaurants in town but this is the cleanest restaurant by a long shot and it has the NICEST staff! Many of them know me by name as if we were long time friends. It's hard to find nice, enthusiastic teenagers working these days. They're always willing to explain the menu to you and help get napkins, ketchup, refills and take dirty trays for you. They're always walking through the dining room with samples of the ice cream or frozen lemonade for you to try and also just to check up on you to see if you need anything else. The managers are outstanding at this place! You will never hear them yelling and ordering the employees around, this place is full of pleases and "my pleasures." It seems like the entire staff actually enjoys working here and is willing to help you out in any way possible and it's in a genuine way. Nothing is faked here! You can figure out a lot about a restaurant and the people in charge of it just by the cleanliness of the restrooms, they are never dirty, smelly, or understocked. The dining room is immaculate as well, I have seen employees cleaning the floors and corners multiple times during my visits which is RARE in a fast food restaurant. It seems like they run a pretty tight operation with people hopping in and out of different assignments with ease and never struggling with any task. The training here has got to be some of the best! The food here is also top notch for a fast food restaurant, Mcdonalds and Wendys has nothing on this place. If you want burgers made from real meat, made to order, then this is the place to come to. Nothing I have ordered here tastes like it is made ahead of time. I read another comment about the staff only using one employee on the grill which I have noticed as well so once again it must be a tight operation with great training in place. I was shocked to try the fried chicken and like it better than KFC. It was no where close to being dried out and the flavor was amazing! If you've never tried the cheese curds then I would strongly recommend that you do, pure heaven. I have never had any issues with burnt burgers or greasiness as I have with other made to order restaurants. I passed through Ottawa on a recent family vacation and we stopped at this Culver's for lunch. Great food and service, as I've come to expect from Culver's! I didn't realize until the next day on my way home to Colorado that I had left my expensive prescription sunglasses at this restaurant. In the meantime, the staff had found and cared for my glasses, and after I called and figured out they were there, the manager Brianna was kind enough to mail them back to me! She definitely went above and beyond. Very appreciative for the unexpected hospitality. So I am rating this compared not just as a restaurant but as a Culvers, so four stars is the highest I will give of any culvers.. There are 17 Culvers within a 25 mile radious of this one and I have eaten a meal at every one. The ordering counter was by far the least pushy. Usually there are three hyper teenagers so bored they are champing at the but to take your order. I am looking up at their menu, hanging back to let others up front. At this Culvers they were patient and waited for me. No repeatedly asking me if they could take my order. They just calmly waited. When I did order, they took the order quickly and correctly. It arived at our table very hot with everything and staff offered us anything else we wanted. The fish was balanced as well done yet moist and well breaded with a very light batter.My tenderloin reminded me of Iowa tavern tenderloin easily extending beyond the large hearty bun. I asked for extra pickles and boy did I get them. We got a large $5 cheese curd order. They were sweet and lightly breaded. I thougt charging $ .50 for each of two sauce cups was a little much. All tge food was hot, fresh, and not greasy....something other Culvers have a hard time achieving. There appeared to be only one grill man in the back and our food came out really quickly, so he must be really efficient. The whole place was really clean. I drank three cups of root beer and two little cups of ketchup. The guy cleaning the dining room was cleaning the area each time I was up there. The christmas tree was well decorated and coordinated with culvers colors of silver and blue. I gotta say it was pretty good and it turned my crummy day around. read more

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn Marriott which is right behind this Culver's location. I have reviewed this location before. This time we didn't get full meals but we did get ice cream twice. This is a perfect location and easy to walk to from the hotel. We sat outside on the Patio both times. They accept two coupons. I gave one star because after hiking at starved rock we decided to go to Culver's. Working in the one in Oswego, I decided why not. Me and my friends got different things, I had the Chicken tenders which was really good and my friends got cheeseburgers. They all almost threw up because of all the grease that was on the buns. The fries felt soggy and some of the fries were still frozen. If ya'll want better food, I think you should come to Culver's of Oswego. Ottawa needs some improvement and they are not there yet. read more
