Ordered a single cheeseburger basket (lettuce, pickle, ketchup, mayo) and a kids cheeseburger basket (ketchup, lettuce, tomato). The person at the speaker repeated the order correctly, though the price already seemed a bit high. When we got the food, the order was wrong. We received a double cheeseburger with ketchup, lettuce, and tomato, and a single cheeseburger with ketchup, mayo, lettuce, and tomato--neither matched what we ordered. Later, after my daughter's gymnastics, my wife asked me to grab her a cheeseburger. I reluctantly went back. Again, I ordered a single cheeseburger basket, and again the same employee repeated it correctly--but this time I noticed the screen showed a double instead. That raises some concerns about whether this is intentional upselling. To top it off, when I got home, my wife's burger had mushrooms on it--something we never ordered. Not sure how this place stays in business. I'll gladly drive out of my way to go to Culver's on the south side instead of ever returning to the Coralville location. read more

OK, it's a "fast" food place BUT you have the advantage of knowing your order is being prepared after you order, NOT grabbed from a heating bin. We ordered the walleye dinner's for pick up - it was great. Plus, I ordered the broccoli (trying to eat a bit healthier) and it was actually good - steamed just right. To start off: this order was $33 and took 20 minutes to be received. We got a small vanilla sundae with hot fudge. The ice cream was really grainy and not really edible, unlike any custard I've had there before. Then, when I got home, realized my fish sandwich was missing the entire top bun. Not sure how something leaves the kitchen like that. Upon calling the restaurant, the lady offered to give me the missing bun if I wanted to drive the 15 minutes back, which I quickly dismissed. I asked if they would consider sending me a coupon for the inconvenience and to correct the situation, to which I got the reply "you want a coupon for a top bun?" Stopped for lunch and had a great experience. We ordered at the counter, and while our cashier seemed new at the job, he was polite and friendly. Food came out quickly and was as ordered and very tasty. My wife got the Pot Roast sandwich-a somewhat creative option and it was even better with a side of BBQ sauce. I was shocked to see the overall rating this Culver's had, and read some negative reviews to get some perspective before writing my own. I can't speak for anyone who had a bad enough experience here to rate it less than 2 stars, but I ate here consistently for almost 8 years when I worked nearby. Yes, the wait can be cumbersome, but if that means they've made your meal specifically for you and it hasn't been sitting around, it's worth it. YOU made that choice. I always look in my bag before I drive off to make sure it's all there, and I have never had to go back inside to let them know something was missing, not even some ranch for my cheese curds. It's not like I haven't got a slightly stale bun or overcooked burger, but I could easily count those experiences on one hand. I placed an order at the drive thru. The cashier took my credit card and charged it, but didn't return the card to me. I sat at the window waiting for it until I saw someone bring my food out. He went in and found my card, but the actual cashier had disappeared. I tried to call the number on the receipt, but there was no answer. I went to Culver's to get my sick wife some mashed potatoes and gravy I got a large mashed potato in just a small amount of gravy and a separate container not enough to even think about calling it gravy I called the restaurant and they said they're surfing portion by corporate is two small ladles when I told the manager which I called when I got home she said they could do nothing corporate policy was to do nothing and I got what I ordered even though the I did not get enough gravy to cover half of the container. Went through the drive thru to order a chicken cashew salad. How can you screw that up right? With rude service that's how. I went to give the young girl at the drive thru window my credit card to pay. When she opened the window she gave zero acknowledgment and took my card. She ran it through and with her head turned to the inside of the restaurant handed back my card and the number table tent and immediately closed the window. So I'm sitting there thinking "do I pull ahead?" I already waited forever behind someone who ordered like 5 meals and sat at the window until they got them all my salad should be ready. She looked back though the window and waved at me to go forward. So I guess that was my "could you please pull forward we will bring your food out". There were zero cars behind me. As I put my car on gear and traveled the 15 feet in front of me and young male employee stopped me to grab my number off my window and shove the sack with the salad in my car. Zero thank you, have a good day. Nothing. The reviews were right about this establishment: young employees with zero people skills. This wasn't all too long ago, but I had a fairly recent experience at the Culver's here in Coralville before making my way home. The food service was abysmal. The person who took my order stared at me uncomfortably like he didn't want to be at work, and never once called my order when it was done. All I was given was a concerning eye glance. The ambience was average and probably the best part of the entire experience, which isn't saying much since it's typically busy with not the most pleasant people. My order was not correct, and at that point I couldn't have cared less. This Culver's NEEDS some sort of change, one way or another. As someone who's worked in the fast food industry, having a positive attitude no matter how shitty your day has been, rubs off on others. Whether it's the management or the need for new people or how things are run, something seriously needs to be fixed. This is the Midwest answer to In and Out and Five Guys, based out of Wisconsin this is some delicious food right out of dairyland. I've been to Wisconsin several times and they do know how to make their burgers up there! The menu is pretty large and everything is made to order, so expect a little wait on your food. I usually get the double burger, they call them butter burgers I think that's their little extra touch that makes them so good. You can add toppings and your cheese of choice when all is done you do have a decent size burger that is delicious. Their cheese curds are good you should get them if you are in the mood for a change of pace item. The fries are also a little underwhelming, I really think they should reboot these and try for a better quality fry. The custard is amazing, rich, creamy, great flavor, and a perfect desert to end your meal. This place has all the Wisconsin classics, that state knows how to make comfort food the right way and Culver's delivers on carrying that reputation. read more

I was surprised of the prices but thought maybe, their so superior they can charge want they want. I though hey maybe it's worth it. I love the food at Culvers, but the service at this one was super slow. Just not managed very well. Examples: 1 person doing all the ice cream products, and she is making them, but not actually serving them, so she has about 10 made, but no one is actually getting their order. When super busy, this is a bad time to have someone clean the restroom. For one thing, they need the help elsewhere. For another thing, people are needing to use the bathroom, and having someone choose that time to clean it is not smart. There is no structure on how to order.
