What should have been a 20-30 minute appointment caused me to be stuck in the dentist chair until after 9:00 am. This was majorly because the doctor here, Dr. Hijaz, was having a personal conversation on the clock with a patient or colleague right outside my door for over 45 minutes. The rest of the process previously was slow as well, but I regret not bringing this to everyone's attention and interrupting this unprofessionalism because I was then over and hour late in my return to campus. And that even though I brush twice a day and try to stay on top of my vitamins. My gums are usually weak and suffering. The dentist started a fight with me. Said I don't brush my teeth, and also doubted I was pregnant. Accused me of lying and was just a total jerk. Nearly had me in tears. I'm talking. Did the step back look over your whole body and back. Laying down on the chair my belly doesn't show as much. So I had to stand up for him to believe me. And then after all that. The bill came. They double dip. Charge the max they can for out of network and then charge insanely high for simple cleanings out of pocket too. Atrociously over priced. And atrocious service. I hear the other dentist is better. The cleaning lady didn't like me going back with my kids. She never said it. But refusing to offer a chair or anything and being short with me was pretty much an obvious tell. When the dentist came in, he saw this and apologized immediately and offered me a chair to sit down as I was holding my newborn, and had a injured back.
