First of all, their customer service was awesome. We didn't even know where to start and the sales people were helpful right away. Not overbearing or pressuring, just nice and genuinely helpful. They helped me pick out a living room set that my husband loves with a leather sectional that feels so lush and a matching chair. Second, the price was BETTER than I expected. I thought we might pay a little more shopping local (and frankly I was willing to pay a little more to support local biz) but it was cheaper than the competitors. The sofa we got was inspired by something I found on houzz but I figured I'd never be able to find something like it in my price range, but they had something just like it for a price I could actually pay. Third, what prompted me to write this review. This week, we were just feeling settled in in our new home (and loving our new couch) when we got a thank you card out of the blue from the sales lady who helped us. It made me feel really good. And made me feel like they cared and that my business mattered. LOOOOONG story short, I highly highly recommend Slumberland. I called Karl's and they sent a repairman in 2 weeks time. Off to the laundromat for a couple weeks. He came and looked it over, said he needed to order parts and that would be a week. Off to the laundromat again. He came back and installed new part and the washer worked for 2 loads and broke again. Called Karl's again and waited for them to have time to come back. Off to the laundromat. This time he said he didn't know what was wrong and had to call tech support and consult with the other repairmen at his job, then he would order the parts they agreed on and would be back. Off to the laundromat yet again. He returned a week or so later with the new parts and it worked fine until this morning when it broke again so I'm at the laundromat. I'm not calling Karl's again. Clearly they sold me a piece of junk to start with. The washer is now 16 months old and after warrantee so I know by reading the other reviews on this store that they won't want to hear my story.

The following is a rough sequence of events and the terrible customer service we received. 8/27 We were supposed to get a call at 8am to tell us when the repair guy was supposed to come out. It was 9:15 with no notification so we called them. They answered and told us the estimated time was 2-4pm (not a big deal, we had plans later in the afternoon). 4 o'clock rolls around and he still hasn't shown up nor have we recieved a call stating he would be late. So we called them again at 4:05 to check and he says he's running about 30 minutes late. (A little irritated, but not to big a deal). He finally shows up and he takes a look at the washer saying that the fabric softener clogged the drain tube (first time I've ever heard of that but, ok) and that it is a motherboard issue. He tells us it is fixed and should work temporarily until we decide to order the part. They charge us $85 for 10-15min of work. We test the machine and it still doesn't work. We call them back and they schedule a secondary appointment for August 31st. 8/31 They call us about 9am to say that there is nothing they can do but order the part. At this point we are like okay just order the part. We asked if we could be refunded the $85 because he came and did nothing to our machine and it still had the same problem as before we called. They gave us some bullshit about how the experience was not how we made it seem, that the $90 was for a insurance charge if we got the part installed and broke within a 90 day period. We decided to not order the part and still wanted our money back (Would have accepted a little less due to gas usage and time) all they did was yell back at us and said that there was nothing they could do. 100% NEVER using this place again with their bullshit customer service.

I immediately brought it to their attention and the sales representative said he would speak to his General Manager.
