Then, Tesla recalled the Powerwall-2 batteries because of a fire risk. While it took a while to get going, Photon came yesterday and completed the battery replacement, just as thorough and professional as with the initial project. I want to especially thank service coordinator Jake and technician's Lucas, Josh and Charlie for their diligence.

One of the selling points was that we would be able to receive a rebate from Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) upon completion of the project. Photon Brothers told us that they would help us with the rebate and application process. Although they did help with the application process, they failed to explain many of the requirements needed to obtain the rebate. For instance, we were never told that we had to program our battery to discharge at least 50% of its capacity daily during peak hours for a two-week period while 3CE would monitor the battery system. Upon completion of the application it stalled, because we did not know about this requirement. At least half a dozen phone calls were made to 3CE to try and figure why we were not getting our rebate. It took us over a year to figure this out, with NO HELP from Photon Brothers. Their response was something akin to, "This is between you and 3CE." A simple explanation would have relieved us of much aggravation. We finally received our rebate in March of 2026, well over a year from when we first applied. In addition, we never received instructions from Photon Brothers on how to use the Tessla App to maximum the benefits of the battery system. When we would call Photon Brothers for help with the App, sometimes we received assistance, while other times, no one called us back. We watched the Tessla Battery videos and did not find them helpful. In conclusion, we are disappointed with the lack of support received from Photon Brothers.

They refused to back their workmanship and ghosted us. We didn't want to enter into a legal battle, so we elected to pay to have the damage fixed ourselves. Needless to say, our faith in contractors was a little shaken, so we were very careful about choosing a roofing company to do the repairs. Since the solar panels had to be removed and reinstalled to make the repairs, we wanted to hire one company that could do both. Axiom 360 is a roofing company and a solar installer, and they have exceptional Yelp reviews. Eric came out to look at our house and our solar setup to give us an estimate, and we were astonished when he saw that several of our panels were offline and fixed them for us on the spot. We hadn't even hired them yet! That sold us on the integrity and professionalism of the company, and we were very pleased at their competitive estimate. A team arrived only a week later, which is especially amazing since we are located in Heritage Ranch, about as far north in their service area as you can get. Eric kept in constant communication on every aspect of the process. He also checked our equipment settings to make sure we were getting the most out of our panels and batteries. The roofing crew worked efficiently and were respectful of our property, cleaning up at the end of each day. When the project was finished, all the construction materials were hauled away and it was as if they had never been here. The job was completely finished within two weeks of our first phone call. Justin has been great to work with throughout the project and to follow up to make sure we are happy with the work. We highly recommend Axiom 360 for their roofing and solar expertise, as well as their honesty and exceptional customer service.

In every case our needs were met with a very prompt response from the office (Thanks Bev!) followed by courteous, professional field staff. Our latest issue was a total mystery to me after a couple of days working to find out why a single receptacle in our recently remodeled master bath showed dead while all the others worked fine. Brandon doorbell at 8:02 for an 8:00 appointment. OK, one of my biggest peeves was knocked flat. He listened to the issue as I explained the symptoms and what I had done for troubleshooting and then started doing his own investigation. He had the problem found and resolved in about an hour. Seems the electrician (NOT Electricraft) that did our remodel work made a couple of simple errors that led to our issue. In retrospect we seemed to have dodged a bullet with the previous work so cudos to Brandon for finding and resolving the issue. After finishing the bathroom, Brandon extended a circuit in the garage to allow for an outside receptacle (Christmas lights for Momma) and a new outlet for a replacement of our aging garage door opener. Another success in short order. When it comes to critical work in our home where poor workmanship could lead to a disaster like an electrical fire I always try to uses the best, not cheapest service. All of our electrical work goes to Electricraft and Brandon.

The contract price included everything needed, including the county building permit. Although they installed my 240 volt outlet adjacent to my electrical panel as I preferred, I learned that it would have been the same price for a very long wiring run which would make it an even better value because it affords the flexibility of locating the outlet at the most convenient location for anyone. Their installation team was very friendly and did the job professionally. My project manager also applied for the 3CE rebates on my behalf, and that brought the total cost down to $250. In checking up on the status of my rebate applications, the 3CE agent confirmed that their funding for rebates is unaffected by the current federal government's pulling back of existing approved and funded programs, as well as closure of offices and various government services that provide support. I sold my house in August and transferred the Sunrun solar system to the new owner at that time. I received a confirmation email from Sunrun stating the transfer to the new owner was complete. I received a final bill and paid it immediately. In September Sunrun drafted a payment from my bank account. I called and after over an hour I was supposed to get a refund to my bank account in 2-4 days (Sunrun sent an email stating I would be refunded in 2-4 days). The refund never occurred. I called my bank and disputed the charge. The bank refunded my money after 10 days. I also stopped all ACH payments from Sunrun at that time also. October 2025 Sunrun attempted to draft a monthly charge from my bank account again this month . This time it was declined by my bank. Sunrun sent me an email stating I owed them money and if I did not pay I would be sent to collections. Since August I no longer have a Sunrun system or account that has been confirmed more than once via email from Sunrun. I called the number on the email and even though the Sunrun employee acknowledged I should not have been charged as my account is closed and they owe me less than $3 back he could not help me. I asked for a supervisor and was told I could not speak to a supervisor as I was no longer a customer. I asked for clarification and confirmed with the employee I would not be able to speak with a supervisor since I was no longer a customer. After letting him know of my displeasure with the service I was receiving and the unwillingness of Sunrun to help I was able to finally get to a supervisor. We will see if the supervisor will follow through to fix the issue. The supervisor also confirmed this is a billing error and I do not owe any money. I do not recommend Sunrun to anyone which is unfortunate as the customer service was top notch for several years. I am not sure why the service is so poor now.
