Our cavapoo gets so excited when we pull in to Cuddle Up Pup. Today was for her first full grooming. Ask for the 'teddy bear cut'. Lacey went above and beyond what I was expecting. Lacey took great care with her. Not knowing exactly what length I needed to ask for she did exactly what was needed. I will definitely be returning. I have utilized their boarding and Sophie loved playing with the other dogs so I know now we will be using them again. I can't say I wouldn't recommend Cuddle Up Pup to someone else because they had been very kind to our dog Greta when she was there. But you should read this before you buy a package there for doggy daycare. I just had a bad experience in which I was I very disappointed in the lack of empathy toward the policy parameters for cuddle up pup. On the one hand, my dog really seemed to love her time there. But while she was there, she got a bacteria the vet said could have only come from licking other dogs poop who are infected, or sharing water with a dog who has the same bacteria. I know she couldn't have got this bacteria anywhere else as she is our only dog and we don't take her anywhere but here to socialize. We bought a full package at about $630. After the last package we bought at $479. Had been used. I came in to the facility at Lee's summit today to get a refund of $231. From that $638. Pkg. since our beloved pup will most likely not be able to come back after getting so sick there. I wasn't accusatory about Greta getting sick there. In fact, I told the receptionist our French Bulldog's GI system had reacted to this bacteria, more sensitively than more hardy breeds, and I would be sad and so would Greta once she got better, that we probably shouldn't chance coming again. This could have been a nice departure. I was kind, the receptionist I talked to about Greta's GI system was kind, then the other receptionist brought out the check from the manager, Stephanie and my experience took a turn. I was very shocked after being such good customers and never having a bad experience there, that she told me as she handed me the check, Greta would never be allowed to return ever if I took that $231. Back. Ever. Not only did I find this response to be a really cold given Greta's serious condition (she has gone from 26 pounds down to 17 and is very very sick), but I was shocked they could do business in this way. They told me they would be wiping her record and she would not be allowed back for any services. I just thought this was extremely rude and uncalled for. Where was the compassion in this response? Especially when I myself was so nice when I asked for a refund on the remaining visits. Very disappointing and very uncalled for. read more

We've taken our German Shepherd to stay twice. The groomer, Cassie has done the BEST job by far of any place we've ever taken him in the KC area and we've tried at least 5 other places!!! He looks amazing when he returns to us. The facilities are very clean and he always seems excited to go stay there. We're very pleased to have found this facility! read more

Make sure if you are dropping off your puppy for a 1/2 day visit you ask about the timing for ensuring your dog isnt forced into isolation/quiet time for two hours. There is not any flexibility in a half day pass for dropping off mid-morning and then picking up midday without them going to isolated "quiet time". Then when you request a refund of your prepay of 5 visits and them tell them to charge full price for this first visit and i will pay as i go (without the prepay pass) they tell you your dog isn't welcome to come back. Wow. Sounds like a rigid ownership that isn't worried about customer satisfaction. And by the way, it is a facade that they are this customer friendly, dog-focused enterprise. I just wanted to be ablw to dropoff for 4 hours of playtime. I dont need to pay for her to be in puppy solitary confinement. read more

Make sure you know what you are buying when you purchase a package plan. Very deceiving to find out that there is a 2 hour "nap time" when your dog is kenneled. That was not explained during the initial tour. So if you drop your pup off at 11:00 and pickup at 2:00, they get an hour of playtime and 2 hours of sitting in a kennel! Ridiculous! read more

This week I had to take my dogs to new groomers - I tried Cuddle Up Pet. The scheduler was kind, patient and very efficient. Took just a few days to get my dogs in. When I arrived, the groomers were waiting for us, listened to my concerns, accepted my "love note" of things not to do to my dogs. Within a couple hours, I picked them up and they were happy and pretty well groomed for a first try on my Havanese and Shih Tzu. I could see other dogs walking around, lounging on the many pet sofas and being well taken care of. This is a huge organization and my dogs will go back, not only for grooming, but boarding. I was thrilled. The girls on the front desk, checking dogs in, could not have been nicer. These girls get 10 stars. Thank you for taking good care of my babies. read more

I boarded my dog for a week at Cuddle Up Pup while on vacation and I would definitely recommend this place. The facility was clean, the staff was kind and thorough in getting all her information, likes and dislikes, and sent me pictures of her. She is a spoiled dog but got along well. I had taken my Rescue Shephard to Petsmart Grooming, and each time he reacted like a Rescue. He did not trust the groomer. She made no attempt to make him feel comfortable. He growled, but made not attempt to move towards her. A customer at the Petsmart recommended Cuddle up pup, because his beautiful dog, which allowed me to pet her and talk to her, was considered aggressive by Petsmart groomer. Same as my dog. Well, i took him to cuddle up pup. They calmed him down by speaking and petting him. They kneeled on the floor for him, which made him more receptive. He's been going there now for 3 months, and I have never complained. They are so great, you book in advance just so they can play or get groomed. Wonderful..so far. read more

Wonderful place. They really do a great job taking car of your dogs. I really like the fact that the dogs are not confined in cages all day. They are free to roam about and get to go outside 5 times per day. Other kennels we toured reminded me of a dog pound. This one is truly a pet resort. Only problem being you can no longer get your dogs in there. You have to schedule boarding months in advance and forget about daycare. Always at capacity. My dogs have been coming here for daycare and grooming for over a year. They are the BEST! They are so friendly to the dogs. The facilities are very clean. For overnight, my two dogs were able to stay together in their little room and they could have a blanket from home to sleep with. They called me to let me know how my dogs were doing (one has anxiety) and I was so grateful for their attentiveness. I have two poodle-mix dogs and the groomers here are incredible. I have never had any issues with services or workers. I would highly recommend daycare, boarding, and grooming here at Cuddle Up Pup. read more

My dog is a small 10 pond poodle terrier mix. She hates being in a run or cage. Cuddle up Pup was recommended by a friend, so I went to visit. The dogs were free to roam in rooms with like sized dogs and a couch and toddler bed ( in small dog room). Dogs were playing and an attendant was in the room. I saw a dog sleeping in a bed in the office and one in someone's lap while I was there. On another visit I saw a couple little dogs wondering down the hallway, happily. We were gone 11 days and when I returned my dog was thin (that did not surprise me, she's not a good eater for others) but she was not horse from barking nonstop in her run. She also did not seem overly excited to get"away" from them. The girls told me she was outside a lot and liked watching the other dogs a lot. Which I'm sure was the case. She loves watching things around her. So I was very pleased and will use them again. read more

I dropped my Great Dane off for a few days while I was traveling with work. He had been there one other time and seemed to do okay for the 2 night stay. The only issue was that his tail had split at the end from hitting the wall repeatedly. Thinking this was just a one-time occurrence, I brought him back for a longer stay. On day one I got a call that his tail had split open and that they had wrapped it and were going to monitor it for the duration of the stay. When I picked my dog up the tip of his tail was blackish/purple. The next day the skin began to come off and the bone was exposed. I had to take him in to the vet for an emergency surgery. They had to amputate his tail ($1,300 for procedure and all the antibiotics and pain killers). I called to ask why they did not reach out to the vet themselves when I had the emergency contact number on record for them. The lady I spoke with said that they monitored it and that it didn't appear to be that bad... Not at all impressed with the lack of service or the care provided to my fur baby. I would highly recommend that you look to another establishment before you board your dog at this facility. read more

I would rate Cuddle Up Pup ten stars if I could! The staff is wonder and truly love your dogs. We boarded our dog over the weekend and he got sick. They took the time to call us, took him to the Vet and continued to keep up updated. They care! They also do great grooming! Highly recommend, we are a forever client. read more

If I could give them less than one star I would. I have taken my two dogs there multiple times and it seemed like a clean place. I was very frustrated when every time my dogs would come home from daycare and/or boarding to find that they had gotten kennel cough. Both of my dogs are in great health and we ensured to get medication and allow them to take some time off before taking them back in order to keep other dogs healthy. However, after the first few times they came back with a horrible cough we contacted them. The problem has still not been fixed, and we are still paying for the medication and vet visits to try and get our dogs back to even normal health. This is preventable yet obviously they don't care enough about the pets health. I could not be unhappier about the situation and would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Wanted to share an experience at Cuddle Up Pup so that others are aware. I dropped off my 12 week old puppy for boarding and daycare while out of town. Showed up to pick him up and they told me he had been bit by another "older" dog while in their care. No phone call, no real apology, no offer to comp the nights, just a poor excuse to why it had happened. They did offer to pay for him to see a vet AFTER I walked back in and wanted a few more answers/explanations for why this happened. Not sure why either dog wasn't removed if they thought it would be a problem, or why a puppy would be put in a situation with older/aggressive dogs. Completely disappointed in the lack of care and communication I received. I will NEVER be going back. In my own experience, I would not recommend leaving a younger dog/puppy at this business. read more

We were traveling east from CA and wanted to tour the Truman Library. Our dog was with us so we looked for a place where he could stay for those hours. Cuddle Up Pup gladly accepted him. When we arrived, we saw a large fenced in area with about twenty dogs milling around and playing. The receptionist greeted us very warmly and cheerfully. The space is extremely nice, almost like a hotel lobby. No odor. Our dog was very happy to see us but he was perfectly fine. We will not pass that way again, probably, but for anyone looking for a few hours of day care, this is a great place. I'm sure boarding would be good too. read more
