When I was in California, trying to set up a storage unit, every person I talked to on the phone gave me different info. I was needing place to park a moving trailer (like an 18-wheeler) over night because my moving company couldn't drop off and pick up the moving trailer on the same day. I carefully and thoroughly explained what I was needing and why, but I couldn't get any two staff people to give me the same info. I ended up using them anyway because it was a good price and conveniently located to where I was going to be living. The time my stuff was stored there was uneventful - I have no complaints about security. When I moved out of my storage unit, I discovered numerous dead roaches in some of my boxes. I appreciate that they were dead roaches - clearly they are trying to be proactive about infestations - but there were still clearly signs of infestation. I used the Budget moving truck rental component of this company - that was a terrible experience which I'll try to review if I can find a listing for Budget. The biggest problems started after I checked out. I gave proper notice and followed all of their move out procedures. The next month, they charged my account 140 on autobill. I called the manager who apologized and promised he'd credit me account back. He didn't. It took multiple phone calls and finally threatening to report him for intentional fraud for him to credit my money back. He never apologized after the first call asking for my money back. He just kept having lame excuses (over a 3 week period) that he was busy and would get around to it. And guess what? It's now the first of the month again and they autobilled me AGAIN. This time, I've contacted my bank and have reported it as a fraudulent transaction and have blocked all further transactions from this merchant. Steer clear! I don't know what the other storage unit options are in Conway but they've got to be better than this.

Working with Red Dot Storage has been an unmitigated disaster. From the moment I booked I've had…read morenothing but trouble. First off, I booked a parking spot and a 10x15 unit. I was told my unit would have a green wire seal and to take it off and move my stuff in. Upon arrival that evening I was given a 5x10 unit that had a lock on it. Of course corporate was closed so no help there. We moved our stuff into a nearby unit with a green seal and called the next day to get it changed. Mind you on arrival the gate was wide open! When I called I was told "I should have called and asked for a code to unlock the red lock...." When customer service was closed... how does that work? I was forced to move all my stuff again and went through about an hour on the phone with someone who couldn't care less. I also tried to upgrade my parking spot to a storage unit. After being on the phone forever, I was finally told I'd be billed x amount extra (which was fine) and to pay it. Upon inspecting the unit there was no way it could be used due to the massive 7 inch step down and I asked to just cancel it. This was almost two weeks ago and I'm still receiving collections emails for an amount I never should have paid for a unit I never even opened... Then I tried to go back one day and the gate wouldn't open. Customer service told me 7 different codes to try, none of which worked... I asked what I should do and was told "We've escalated it but no will will be on site until tomorrow." SERIOUSLY?!? No one here cares, customer service is not a thing and this place is incredibly insecure. The moment I can I'll be moving my stuff out and reporting this company to the BBB. Wow.

2/3 of everyone's things were GONE…read more Me and 3 other Hendrix students decided to split a unit. We opted for a combination lock so we could get into the unit whenever we wished, independent of each other. We used it from December - August. In December, a couple of days after the unit was in use, there was no lock on the unit. I purchased TWO more for added security, with no help from Downtown Self Storage. One of us visited in May, and both locks were gone, and our bikes were gone. Downtown Self Storage did NOT reimburse us for a lock, and did not give us one of their locks for free. I was very disappointed. The man we talked to was a much older man. I called him up in May after the second break-in, and he put a lock on the unit until August. In August, he said he did not remember when I called in May. He said he was old, and didn't have good memory. As if me or my friends cared -- our stuff was gone, forever. My yoga mat, my lamp shades, my friend's luggage with cash and checks in it, multiple boxes... I gave him two dates, spanning around a month and a half, for him to check the camera footage. He said he would, and get back to me. He never did. I followed up in August, and he said the footage probably would have recorded over itself and he could not find it. Oh, what a helpful man, isn't he? SO, there is no security at Downtown Self Storage. No one checks the security cameras. No one cares about your possessions, and they are not motivated to help you. Try Waller Security Storage instead.
