They are so so nice at this truck spot, so warm and welcoming! I ordered the Cuban with a side of fried yucca, and the Guayaba smoothie without sugar. He warned me that without sugar it tastes savory and sweet sometimes, and he was right. The Cuban is a huge sandwich, so big it's cut three ways. Fried yucca was incredible. Everything seemed clean, but the only downside is that I found a small black hair in the sauce, so I had to put that down. Nearly turned my stomach but I inspected the rest and seemed ok. Other than that, I'd try it again.
The Cuban on Wheels gets a 5. Upscale. Downscale. Mom or Pop. This food truck delivers, literally & figuratively No matter what you call it, this rates with the best simple Cuban-American fare I've ever had. I would come back all the time if I lived here. Everything was as good as can be for the price. The Cuban sandwich was the bomb. Soft inside but crusty enough on the outside bread. The hame & pork were cooked right, good quality. The right amount of cheese. Crispy & acidic pickles. A tangy but not overpowering mustard. I had crispy salted plantains, but a soft thin center. Washed it down with a Coke. I was with a friend. But nobody bothered speaking as good eating is business. On wooden tables by a food truck, hot day, near the airport. This is a 5 star experience for this genre...but a 5 in my book overall. $20 total. You can find a 5 star in unexpected places.
Incredible food, but service took awhile I came here around lunch time and ordered a Cuban and 2 smoothies. They told me it would be about 15 minutes, but in reality it took about 45 minutes for my food to come. I wouldn't have minded as much if they would have just said 45 minutes from the start. There was another group waiting and I overheard them mention nearly missing their flight at the airport. Just be aware and order ahead of time if possible. The food itself was incredible. The bread was terrific and the meat was full of flavor. Probably the best I've had in Orlando. If you're looking for a good Cuba this is the spot - just be prepared to wait a little while.
Huge portions and such delicious food. I got the pulled pork bowl with grilled onions and Cuban rice. My husband got the ropa veja with Cuban rice.
When in Florida, you gotta have some Cuban food! Glad to have found Cubans on Wheels when we had a bit of a layover in Orlando. The gentleman who took my order was friendly and helpful. We got a medianoche and the Cuban sandwich. In hindsight, we should have ordered more different sandwiches, since it was just the bread that was different! Regardless, the sandwiches were delicious and generously filled with roasted pork, mustard, Swiss cheese, etc. Yucca fries were perfect - crispy on the outside, starchy on the inside. The gentleman also recommended sweet plantains and they were a wonderful complement to the heavy, savory sandwiches. There's outside seating near the food truck and next to the adjacent liquor store. Or, if you're staying nearby, you can take your food back to the hotel to eat.
That's was fun.... The food truck is right next to my (and several other) hotel. I had a Cuban sandwich that was fully loaded. The bread was crisp, the meat was plentiful and the cheese was extra melty. There could have need a few More pickles but that's it. The feast of the Sandi was great.
I was looking for a lunch spot near the airport when I spotted Cubans on Wheels. It did not disappoint! My sister met hubby and I before our flight on a Thursday evening. We all ordered the Cuban sandwich. Her and I chose sweet plantains as the side and hubby got the tostones. The Cuban sandwich was very good! The bread was authentic and perfectly pressed. They added plenty of Cuban pork, ham, and Swiss cheese. Both the sweet plantains and the tostones were excellent. I loved the cilantro sauce on the side. We enjoy our lunch behind the food truck at one of the picnic tables. Hubby wanted a little something sweet so we ordered the guava milkshake on our way out. Wow was it tasty! Wonderful guava taste, not too sweet, great consistency. One of the best I've had! Overall, I would definitely recommend Cubans on Wheels. Tasty and authentic Cuban food plus friendly service!
Came here on a weekday lunch. It's by Denny's. I ordered quesadilla, empanadas, veggies bowl. It took a while for the quesadilla. The man who took the order was nice and enthusiastic. Since it's a good truck, it's outside and seating is outside.
I was staying at a local hotel and stopped in for dinner after a short walk. This food truck has a decent Cuban sandwich, and I was pretty impressed overall. If I find myself in the area again, I would definitely come by again to try some of the other plates. Overall the value for money was great and I had plenty to eat. There is a seating area around the side of the food truck that is fairly basic. The staff is super friendly and the food is made fresh to order.
You are immediately treated like family as soon as you arrive. This is our second time eating here and it's amazing. The cuban sandwich is full of meat and cheese. The fried yucca was perfect paired with a cilantro dipping sauce. We will be back again the next time were in the area. Kind hearted amazing family!
I finally understand why everyone raves about this place. It's definitely got some great Cuban eats. The food truck is well visited and there are picnic tables and benches around for dining. The food is cooked to order and may take a bit if it is busy. Service is minimal. Ambiance is basic, as expected for a food truck. Definitely stopping by again!
This spot is worth the hype. We stopped in for dinner. It was a short evening walk from our hotel. The potions are large. They have outdoor seating. The wait in the food is fairly short. We have enough for lunch tomorrow. They did forgot portion of our order despite us being told everything was included as ordered before we left but they promised to rectify the issue tomorrow which I respect and appreciate. They have a vast amount of options to enjoy.
Some of the best Cuban food I've had in the US!!! This little food truck is so underrated; it was basically empty while we were there, when it should have been packed. We got two dishes; ropa vieja and roasted pork. Both were amazing; juicy and flavorful. Both the rice (especially the yellow rice) and the beans were good too. And the tostones were some of the richest I've had. Prices were very reasonable. The one sort of negative thing I'd say is it's difficult to access by foot. It's a roundabout walk from local hotels (still worth the walk, but not the best sidewalks around here). read more

This is our last stop every single time before we leave Orlando, and we even take our dinner on the plane because it's just that good! The food is absolutely incredible--fresh, authentic, and packed with flavor. Whether it's the ropa vieja, pork steak, Cuban sandwiches, croquetas, empanadas, or the Cuban box, everything we've tried has been outstanding. You can truly taste the love and tradition in every bite. The service is always friendly and welcoming, and it's become a tradition our family looks forward to on every trip. If we're willing to make this our final stop before heading to the airport, that says everything you need to know. If you're anywhere near Orlando, don't leave without stopping here. You won't regret it! We'll be back on our next trip from Maryland. Thank you for consistently giving us one of our favorite meals every vacation! read more

Delicious Cuban food walking distance from Holiday Inn. I bought quite a few things to sample even tho I was flying out the next day and couldn't eat it all. My favs were the fried yuca, tostones, and guanábana shake. Will be back next chance I'm in Orlando read more

I have been wanting to try this food truck for a while. We ordered a Cuban sandwich to go along with some empanadas. The people were very friendly and they have a large menu with lots of yummy options. The Cuban sandwich was well prepared, large, and packed with meat and cheese. It had a great flavor and I loved the bread that held up to the hefty sandwich without getting soggy. The empanadas were pretty tasty; loved the sauce served with them! The fries were average for me. I ordered a side of yellow rice also which I enjoyed. Overall, this is a solid spot and I will definitely return! read more
This food truck was so great! The portions were very generous. The service was ok. There were a handful of tables and chairs and a park bench for seating. The ropa vieja was a bit dry but was flavorful. The Cuban sandwich was hot and toasty. I typically don't like sandwiches but really enjoyed this sandwich. The quesadillas were hot, cheesy, and delicious. The sauces that came with the food were all great as well. The empanada had a thin crispy crust and was not too doughy. Would definitely come back here. read more

One of the best Cuban sandwiches ever! I lived in Tampa for 27 years and consider myself a connoisseur of the Cuban sandwich. I moved to Georgia recently and when people ask what I miss my answer is always good Cuban food. It starts with the right bread. I asked and they get theirs from La Segunda which is the right answer. I do prefer a Tampa Cuban with the salami but this was full of delicious roast pork, ham, cheese perfectly pressed. I was skeptical of a food truck but was staying at a close by hotel and decided to give it a try. I've been two days in a row. I'll be dreaming about this sandwich when I get home read more

A cute little food truck right by MCO. A convenient quick place for a stop before or after the airport. Ramon is very sweet and attentive. Great portions and amazing food! The sandwich bread was very soft and delicious, everything was seasoned perfectly and was a treat overall. There are a few tables for seating and an area of chairs designed for pick up orders. read more

Everything a food truck should be! Great food, sit in the shade and enjoy. The "window girl" was very polite, explained things well and made great recommendations. Little bit of a wait but worth every minute for delicious food! read more
Several people told me about this truck and now I know why. The truck is behind Denny's on S. Semaron so make sure you don't pass it. To the side of the truck they have some seating to eat outside. The size of the sandwich and the amount of meat you get in the sandwich is a great value. Not only is it a hefty size sandwich but it truly has all the authentic Cuban palomilla flavors in every bite. I normally don't eat con gris but I decided to try their version and I was pleasantly surprised. It was rich in flavor and the rice was really soft. They have several different menu items to choose from and even their own take on Mac and cheese with different kinds of meat, which I will be trying next time. Overall this food truck had better flavors than most Cuban restaurants in Orlando and worth a trip. read more

Last month when visiting Kiddo and he picked us up at MCO and found you on Yelp. We order vegetarian bowls and 3 veggie empanadas! Everything was perfect from the lovely crunch of the empanadas and they were flavorful. The guys love their Veggie Bowls!! We also ordered 2 delicious Mamey Shakes. Order placed with the friendly gentleman who was a great help when we were ordering. It's was nice to have a place to wait for our order and another seating area to eat with one sheltered if it rains! We will be back when we're back in the area!! read more
