Last weekend was the second swim lesson my little one had. Our instructor Nick has been very kind and has done a good job explaining safety measures while still making things fun. Before each lesson you check in at a table upstairs. There's an elevator that comes in handy for strollers to get downstairs. There are 2 family changing rooms before the lap and leisure pools but I usually just use the women's changing room.

So many kids

We had the opportunity to have my son Noah's second birthday party here at cub, run recreational center this past Saturday. We had checked it out a couple months ago, and he absolutely loved it! Leading up to the party, we were helped every step of the way! Makiya is so amazing at her job and did a fantastic job communicating with us and giving us all the information we needed. All of her staff are so amazing as well! On the day of the birthday party it went so well! All the kids had so much fun, swimming and playing in the indoor waterpark, and the adults had fun too, with the huge waterslides and hot tubs. Once we made it to the birthday party room, we continued the fun and had mellow mushroom pizza per recommendation as well as cake, and a great time celebrating. We would certainly recommend this for any birthday parties, especially if indoors needed, and would love to come back for another birthday party in the future!

Ask the Community - Cub Run Recreational Center

Is this pool open for one-time drop ins?

What is the pool temperature for the indoor water park area? Trying to figure out if it's cold like the lap pool or if it's warmer and a comfortable temperature for kids. Thank you!

It's slightly warmer than the lap pool. My elementary-age kids do fine. My toddler is usually shivering after about 20 minutes and asks to get out.

They have water slides for bigger kids & adults, a small lazy river, some water features, and a vortex with the open swim area too.

When I voted here, in the Senior Center, it was great to meet and greet with volunteers from the Senior Center who told us more about the activities they do on that side. They put on social events and dances and educational programs. I would have never known. There is a Louduon Rec Center Guide that comes out seasonally. Within it, there are classes for kids and adults on activities at the rec center and surrounding. I signed up for a few things for our family members and other than one event, they all were exceptional! I recently came for a Play All Day event. There was demonstrations in the lap pool, scavenger hunt in the leisure pool for kids, Bounce houses outside, dancing class for seniors, live band and food trucks, etc. It was amazing to see the facilities and use the rock wall for free. The daily passes to the rec center are so reasonable too with $6 for adults and $4 for kids. They even have family passes if people from the same house hold are coming together. As I continue to discover more and more about the recreation center, and meet all the wonderful people that work here; I continue to get more and more amazed at this place and their offerings. It's great running into your neighbors and bonding with the new summer staff from local high schools.

I had called Manassas Park Community Center since we were visiting the area and had asked if it would be a problem bringing 7-10 people with me who didn't know the game- Dawn said no problem! They even have the wooden paddles, balls, nets. I thought wow- what a jackpot. We went and what a disaster. The person in charge is BONNIE- and she is very passive aggressive. BONNIE even tried to sabotage us using the facility paddles, almost getting in the middle physically so that they would not give us paddies. We had to go to the front desk for their assistance with this- as Bonnie didn't want us to use them. Even though they had around 30 paddles. BONNIE did not welcome us and got hung up on us setting up a net for three people instead of four. No one needed the court or our space- BONNIE was just being a nasty old lady. BONNIE was very cruel to my family and had such bad energy. Even the regular people that go and play pickleball said how "Everyone has their own Bonnie story". Bonnie should be ashamed of herself- this is a game that people come to have fun- not to be tortured every step of the way. We were new to this gym and very excited to come to- we didn't know all the ins and outs- but after meeting this horrible leader - we def won't be back. We asked for our money back and Dawn wouldn't refund us.

There is plenty of parking space in the lot. The park has a single tennis court, open field, picnic pavilion, volleyball court, swing set, playground, a community garden and a shaded walking/running trail. The park is kept fairly clean and I've never seen it get too busy. I mainly use this park to run/walk on my lunch break during the work week. The trail is a simple wooded figure eight trail that is about a third of a mile in length. It has a fine gravel with a very flat grade so it's an ideal trail for a walk or run. Throughout the trail are various benches to sit on. The playground is nice and large, plus there is a swing set nearby. Both have standard mulch around them. The tennis and volleyball courts are in good condition, although there is only one of each. There is a community garden that people can pay for plots to grow their own veggies, herbs and plants. The garden does have a limit so make sure you reserve it in advance. More info can be found here: http://www.fairfaxva.gov/government/parks-recreation/parks/community-garden There are portable bathrooms nearby and I've never had to use them so I have no idea if they're in good condition or not. This park suits my needs and I think if more people knew it was there they'd use it. *This park is gun carry friendly.
