Internet shuts off at least once a day every single day of the week. Has been happening for months now, and I can't even change service providers because CTV has an insane monopoly on this area. Have Beam internet and tv stream. Have only had it for 2.5 weeks but are currently running a 79.2 % uptime. Weekend and night customer service is a joke. I have hughes net at another location. It's horriblly slow but works much better than Beam. Beam you need to get your act together. Days away from going back to starlink and dish. read more

Slow service, they dig up the yard with no warning to fix an outage. Our yard has been dug up twice in the year we've had the service. Technicians leave without even checking if it works. You have to call 3 to 4 times a day until you get a technician who actually fixes the internet. When you call to tell Customer Service about it, they don't even pretend to apologize for the bad experiences. This happens about once a month. Switching to Verizon asap. read more

This is probably one of the worst internet providers I've experienced, even some hotels have better quality internet . You buy the top of the line package and your internet cuts off every 15 minutes which makes it incredibly hard to stream or game . They have no answer for it . The catch is it works seamlessly when you first purchase the internet , then after about a month or two goes by it's like it's being throttled . When AT&T fiber optic finally comes to this area this company will probably go out of business. Only reason they're surviving is a monopolization of the internet market. read more

I can't give it 0 stars so there is that. I have had so many issues with internet and cable it's ridiculous! We are on our 3rd cable box and when we got the last one the messed up our programming and we weren't getting channels we were supposed to. Don't think you can stream any shows on the internet and watch from the beginning to the end and it not be interrupted by the internet going down. Don't try to pay a bill or apply for something because your internet will drop out. Heck last time we called the gentleman on the phone said, I am so sorry our system is running slow.... Absolutely terrible service. For just a few cents under $100 a month this company spends more time raising their prices than they do trying to fix their internet connectivity problems. My internet is always down and given that I'm a small business owner with a digital marketing company trying to work from home in the midst of covid that is a serious problem. My wifi is always down, my main computer that I design on has to be hard lined in otherwise there is no internet at all, and given that this is the only company that provides internet in our area I'd think that they'd at least try to do a little bit better of a job at keeping people connected because never once before now or here have I EVER paid $100 a month for internet nor have I ever had such slow internet speeds even during the dial up days. Always has outages and even after buying new equipment we still have a hard time getting service in all our rooms. the internet is always down and when we do call they only tell us "it says its on, on our end". we had a service tech come out last friday and he said he couldnt find any problems but said he would call maintenance to come to check the area since he can only look at problems inside the house. he said he'd call us back to set up an appointment but its been a week and we've heard nothing back. he also told me when i told him that the lady on the phone told us we might need a new router that "thats just what they say to get you off the phone" so its obvious beam doesnt care about their customers or how well they operate. i'm sick and tired of having to pay 100+ dollars for crappy internet that never works or if it does work you dont get any mbps even close to what you pay for. i pay for 250mbps and i barely get over 50 on a good day. read more

Internet companies that have a monopoly over an area are the absolute worst. CTV Beam has been holding the east Alabama area hostage for many years now. I've had their service for almost 3 years now and it's been a nightmare. Paying around $100 for 100MPS internet that's never consistent. The only thing that is consistent, is their ability to provide you crappy service. Internet is always going down or they're always "working" on it. This company would not survive in a shared market. My Internet is blazing fast and the customer service is just as good. I had AT&T and talk about a joke they are the internet bottom feeders. People that complain probably have slow and weak computers and don't under stand that your computer is your problem. CTV BEAM is by far the worst internet provider out there. It doesn't help that they are the only provider in the area either. $85 a month for 100mb download and 1.5 Upload! They are easily 10 years behind everyone. And this is if your internet is working at all. Internet goes down 6-8 times a day easily. When I call to get it fixed, their famous response is always " It seems fine on our side, it may be your modem". Well, 3 modems later (Yes 3), and still the same issue. Worst service ever. The guy came to hook up our cable in our new apartment, and the cable connect in the living room wouldn't work. He refused to fix it, and refused to provide a solution other than hooking up cable in the guest bedroom and running a wire over the door to connect to the living room television. He was incredibly lazy and rude, and when I went to the apartment front office to see if they could do anything about it, they said it was the cable company's job (which I understood). I walked back to my apartment planning on talking to him about a solution, even if we had to wait another week, and he had already left!!! I was livid!!!! If it weren't for the fact that I refuse to have a satellite dish on my porch, I would switch to Dish Network or Direct TV. I was lucky enough to have options where I live, but my friend J had no other choice but to enter in to agreement with this "service." They lost her payment two months in a row and on the second month they disconnected her cable and internet without giving her notice of any kind. She has decided she can no longer afford to be the victim of this company and has requested Knology for internet and moved to Netflix for television. This company is a complete rip off. I ordered a bundle package from them that included HBO and Shotime. After 10 months they dropped my HBO and Dhowtime without adjusting my fees. They even said I never ordered the channels nor did I get them. I have watched those channels regularly for 10 months and even showed them recordings from they channels. I called the end of May 2015 if reference to obtaining services at a home that I looking to purchase. Upon calling I was looking at 2 homes in the area both located in Ft. Mitchell AL. So I made the call and spoke with a Customer service agent by the name of Linda. I spoke with her prior on numerous times about another home that we currently own on Owens Rd. At that location the last service address is 3 houses up from me, I was told that it would take 6-8 weeks for me to obtain service at that location. The construction would be at no cost to me. Well after that time passed I called back and was told that the location would have to be revisited in the summer. The summer came and I called back up and was told that the company was no longer doing any type of construction. After I was told that a co-worker of mine moved into a home and requested service that ended up have to come from 300 +/- foot away. Back to the 2 address above, like I mentioned I spoke with Linda and she had stated that yes both serviceable locations, so we put in an offer on 1 of them. Well we closed on this address and so naturally I called to connect services. When I called to my shock I was told that no services were not available. Now I am in a home that I cannot get services and I was also told that they are no longer doing construction so I asked if we could run the cable line since we are business owners and have a construction crew. The Service Manager told me no because there are permits that are required. I called the Russell County Codes and Inspections Dept and they told me that I do not need a permit to run my own cable line. He then stated that h would have to get with the Construction Manager in reference to possibly getting service. I just called today 09/14/2015 spoke with Kayla and was told that now neither address is available for service even though there is a pedestal out in front of 1 and an empty lot there is cable running out of that pedestal all that it needs is to be connected, but they are saying that it's not a serviceable location. She stated that the last serviceable location is next door and across the street from the house we didn't purchase. I also have a pedestal 100 foot +/- that belongs to CTV of East Alabama. If we would have been told up front that there was no service provided instead of being lied to repeatedly then we would have never even placed an offer on this home because 1 of the main requirements was that we were able to get internet outside of Satellite. I also just got off the phone with AT&T and they just informed me that DSL nor is U-Verse available at this home either, due to no available ports. I just want what I was told I was able to get. I was told cable internet and cable tv were available and now nothing. The sad thing is that CTV of East Alabama is the only cable company out in that area. So I just got off the phone with Mike who is over the service dept and he stated that they will be able to provide me service that my house is just on line where they can provide me service. read more

I was very skeptical of using CTEA for Internet after reading all of the reviews, but I took a chance since it was no contract basis. I had nothing but excellent customer service from the setting up of my order to the installation process. Both ladies were very professional and competent. @014 and they are the worse provider I have ever dealt with. They have the worse C.S. to deal with. I was getting enrolled in auto payment and made a payment on the 21 of Sept. and they took out on the 19 which I did not know, not posted on internet. The 20 I saw where they took out and being on S.S. I could not afford two payments, called them and was told they could not return the money, so I got directTV and have better service and save 35 dollars a month plus got 100 dollar prepaid credit card , sweet. Worst service ever, this isn't close to a monopoly it IS a monopoly. I pay for 15 MBPS with the internet only service and I am lucky to hit 13MBPS downstream. If I had the time and money I could build a better service with my eyes closed. Almost every time I call I am put on hold for 15+ minutes (probably due to the amount of complaints they are getting besides mine) and when I finally get in touch with a technician they tell me it is my router and it isn't a problem with the connection. After a person buys 3 new routers all of them having high quality standards (here they are listed) Cisco 2900, Netgear R6000, and Netgear R6250 either I must be the most unlucky person in the world or they just don't want to admit they have no idea how to reset a *insert choice word here be creative*ing modem connection. I have a degree in Information Technology so it definitely wasn't the router after messing with the configuration so much I have earned 2 years of experience with Netgear and Cisco routers in two days. They finally changed out the modem and just told us if it messes up again it isn't their problem I am actually tempted to go with the slower DSL speeds unfortunately I stream video games and I wouldn't be able do anything with 758kbs upload which usually I get a consistent 1.5mbps to 2mbps upload speed needless to say if you don't need the higher (yet still terrible) upload speeds... STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS AS YOU CAN!!!! It is much better than having to deal with these people who could care less about the price gouging and terrible service because they have no competitors. Well that is enough for my evening/slash early morning rant... I need a drink. read more
