Internet shuts off at least once a day every single day of the week. Has been happening for months now, and I can't even change service providers because CTV has an insane monopoly on this area. I'm amazed that a company can't even keep its one basic service it offers up consistently. I'd be so ridiculously embarrassed to have anything to do with this place. read more

Today I contacted East Alabama Cable CTV BEAM. The technical support person that helped me through the entire process was named Dorothy. She was extremely professional and friendly. While going through the process to get the network connected she was patient with me and did not end the process until she had accomplished the goal of having my internet connected. I want to sincerely thank her for being an awesome individual and putting the customer first. read more

Have Beam internet and tv stream. Have only had it for 2.5 weeks but are currently running a 79.2 % uptime. Weekend and night customer service is a joke. I have hughes net at another location. It's horriblly slow but works much better than Beam. Beam you need to get your act together. Days away from going back to starlink and dish. read more

Slow service, they dig up the yard with no warning to fix an outage. Our yard has been dug up twice in the year we've had the service. Technicians leave without even checking if it works. You have to call 3 to 4 times a day until you get a technician who actually fixes the internet. When you call to tell Customer Service about it, they don't even pretend to apologize for the bad experiences. This happens about once a month. Switching to Verizon asap. read more

I've never had an issue with beam. I use their internet service and it's never been slow. Most people would more than likely post their negative reviews than positive. We've been with them for almost 8 years now. read more

This is probably one of the worst internet providers I've experienced, even some hotels have better quality internet . You buy the top of the line package and your internet cuts off every 15 minutes which makes it incredibly hard to stream or game . They have no answer for it . The catch is it works seamlessly when you first purchase the internet , then after about a month or two goes by it's like it's being throttled . When AT&T fiber optic finally comes to this area this company will probably go out of business. Only reason they're surviving is a monopolization of the internet market. read more

I can't give it 0 stars so there is that. I have had so many issues with internet and cable it's ridiculous! We are on our 3rd cable box and when we got the last one the messed up our programming and we weren't getting channels we were supposed to. Don't think you can stream any shows on the internet and watch from the beginning to the end and it not be interrupted by the internet going down. Don't try to pay a bill or apply for something because your internet will drop out. Heck last time we called the gentleman on the phone said, I am so sorry our system is running slow.... Not gonna lie I thought it was hysterical... you don't have good internet in your own offices. To bad this is pretty much our only choice for internet..... read more

Absolutely terrible service. For just a few cents under $100 a month this company spends more time raising their prices than they do trying to fix their internet connectivity problems. My internet is always down and given that I'm a small business owner with a digital marketing company trying to work from home in the midst of covid that is a serious problem. My wifi is always down, my main computer that I design on has to be hard lined in otherwise there is no internet at all, and given that this is the only company that provides internet in our area I'd think that they'd at least try to do a little bit better of a job at keeping people connected because never once before now or here have I EVER paid $100 a month for internet nor have I ever had such slow internet speeds even during the dial up days. This company is ridiculous not just in pricing but in their lack of reliable service. Something has to give here before I NEED internet to be able to work. read more

This service is terrible. It has been out more than on the last two days. I am visiting my father and this is typical. He said, "I've memorized their number If that tells you anything. When you do get through to them, all they say is "We're working on it," but can't give you an approximate time of resolution. read more

Ctv beam is one of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. The service at my house is terrible!!!!!! Always has outages and even after buying new equipment we still have a hard time getting service in all our rooms. The price so so outrageous and just now looking at my bill we will be pay $119 for 100 meg of internet (previously our bill has been 85)that never works. Let's talk about the customer service. They are rude and won't work with you because they know you really have no other options in Phenix city besides AT&T. I would tell you to avoid this company at all cost but you really have no other options. read more

The internet is down more than it actually works. They keep you on hold forever just to not even solve the issue. Terrible company Terrible customer service Would rate 0/5 stars if possible. read more

Unfortunately CTV is the ONLY service in Russell County/Phenix City that has streaming service high enough to stream live tv (WWE Network, Sling TV, etc.) but the bad part is when they are having network issues (from Atlanta, GA,) they never are helpful as to when the service will be restored. Here we are. Stuck in another monopolized cable city. Sigh... read more

Internet companies that have a monopoly over an area are the absolute worst. CTV Beam has been holding the east Alabama area hostage for many years now. I've had their service for almost 3 years now and it's been a nightmare. Paying around $100 for 100MPS internet that's never consistent. The only thing that is consistent, is their ability to provide you crappy service. Internet is always going down or they're always "working" on it. This company would not survive in a shared market. My time with Cox was better than this company. If you end up at Phenix City Alabama for any reason, I'm sorry that you have to deal with this company. read more

the internet is always down and when we do call they only tell us "it says its on, on our end". we had a service tech come out last friday and he said he couldnt find any problems but said he would call maintenance to come to check the area since he can only look at problems inside the house. he said he'd call us back to set up an appointment but its been a week and we've heard nothing back. he also told me when i told him that the lady on the phone told us we might need a new router that "thats just what they say to get you off the phone" so its obvious beam doesnt care about their customers or how well they operate. i'm sick and tired of having to pay 100+ dollars for crappy internet that never works or if it does work you dont get any mbps even close to what you pay for. i pay for 250mbps and i barely get over 50 on a good day. read more

Bunch of haters. Welcome to the country rural area. 100 mb is what I get for $85. They're the best out here by far with high speed internet. You want to talk worst, then use hughesnet. Absolutely the worst. read more

My Internet is blazing fast and the customer service is just as good. I had AT&T and talk about a joke they are the internet bottom feeders. People that complain probably have slow and weak computers and don't under stand that your computer is your problem. Overpriced for spotty slow service. If you want to feel robbed every month, you have found the right company.

CTV BEAM is by far the worst internet provider out there. It doesn't help that they are the only provider in the area either. $85 a month for 100mb download and 1.5 Upload! They are easily 10 years behind everyone. And this is if your internet is working at all. Internet goes down 6-8 times a day easily. When I call to get it fixed, their famous response is always " It seems fine on our side, it may be your modem". Well, 3 modems later (Yes 3), and still the same issue. I've lived all over the country being military and this is by far the worst company ever! STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN! Trust me please. read more

Well... been gone for two years. Came back again... still awful. Fuzzy service, overpriced, unhelpful customer service. They love to talk about how "community friendly" they are, but it's only because they are a monopoly and don't want AT&T or Comcast coming in and poaching their customers. I don't give a damn about the fact that they're local if they're not providing at least ACCEPTABLE service. Dish Network, Direct TV here I come!!! I know 3 or 4 people who have switched recently as well and they love it. read more

Worst service ever. The guy came to hook up our cable in our new apartment, and the cable connect in the living room wouldn't work. He refused to fix it, and refused to provide a solution other than hooking up cable in the guest bedroom and running a wire over the door to connect to the living room television. He was incredibly lazy and rude, and when I went to the apartment front office to see if they could do anything about it, they said it was the cable company's job (which I understood). I walked back to my apartment planning on talking to him about a solution, even if we had to wait another week, and he had already left!!! I was livid!!!! If it weren't for the fact that I refuse to have a satellite dish on my porch, I would switch to Dish Network or Direct TV. Unfortunately, there is no other company in the area that provides cable/internet service. read more

If you can choose any other cable provider and ISP, go with them. Stuck way behind the times. Limited HD, slow Internet, no HBO Go support, the list goes on and on. read more

Only reason we are with this joke of a company is because we live in an apartment complex where our only two options are either them or AT&T. That's like having to choose between shit or shit. Anyways, overpriced, slow internet, and when their service goes down, it takes an eternity for them to fix it. I hate this company with a passion. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This is by far the worst internet service that I have ever had, and I have lived in lots of places. I had better, more reliable service in a combat zone, and that isn't saying much. CTVEA should be ashamed to provide such substandard service at the ridiculously overpriced rate that they offer. They should be grateful that they own the monopoly in our area. The second that another company comes around, I am dropping them like a bad habit.... read more

CTV of East Alabama is truly the worst Cable Company that has ever existed. I was lucky enough to have options where I live, but my friend J had no other choice but to enter in to agreement with this "service." They lost her payment two months in a row and on the second month they disconnected her cable and internet without giving her notice of any kind. She has decided she can no longer afford to be the victim of this company and has requested Knology for internet and moved to Netflix for television. This worthless excuse for a company should be dismantled completely and every employee should be subjected to the same torture they have forced their customers to live with. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! read more

I must say that this has got to be the worst internet provider EVER. They're not cost efficient and for the speeds they offer and the prices it's not worth it. I'm very displeased with my internet speed. To pay 95 bucks for a service that half way works is unacceptable. read more

Service sucks. They have a download limit of 75 Gigs, which is fine if you're grandma just getting on to look at email from the grandkids and looking for geritol, but not if you want to use Netflix to watch movies or do any online gaming. They have terrible customer service and don't like to admit that they have a monopoly on the cable and internet service in the Phenix City area. read more

I signed up on yelp just so I could review this company on yelp. This is the MOST HORRENDOUS cable service provider I have ever had to do business with. If anyone from comcast reads this, I can guarantee at least 50 people that I know personally that would gladly put these people out of business. Cable TV of East Alabama is truly the WALMART of the industry. The unfortunate part is that my family only has one choice in service provider where we are located. Just to give you an idea of how bad it is. My wife and I are planning on moving across the river into Columbus, GA and the primary reason is: Cable TV of east alabama. All of you are horrible at what you do and it is very obvious that you could care less about how your customers. I hope the entire company goes out of business in the near future, as it is highly deserved. read more

We have been having problems with our remote for several day . This is not the first time this has happened. Normally they talk us through and get it working again. So she told me she would have someone come here to our home and fix the problem should be here sometime between 8am -5pm on Friday we called them again after 5pm several times kept putting us on hold but then never came back to the phone. This happen about 3 or 4 times. They finally called us around 8pm wanted to come out that was just to late and way pasted the time we where told they would be here I stayed home all day Friday waiting on them . Now it is Monday morning still NOTHING. We also have problem with our WiFi we where told long ago that the wiring for WiFi in our area needs to be changed we where told that about 5 years ago nothing has happened with that either Sure with we had another cable service out here that would keep their word read more

This company is a complete rip off. I ordered a bundle package from them that included HBO and Shotime. After 10 months they dropped my HBO and Dhowtime without adjusting my fees. They even said I never ordered the channels nor did I get them. I have watched those channels regularly for 10 months and even showed them recordings from they channels. What a useless company. read more

I called the end of May 2015 if reference to obtaining services at a home that I looking to purchase. Upon calling I was looking at 2 homes in the area both located in Ft. Mitchell AL. So I made the call and spoke with a Customer service agent by the name of Linda. I spoke with her prior on numerous times about another home that we currently own on Owens Rd. At that location the last service address is 3 houses up from me, I was told that it would take 6-8 weeks for me to obtain service at that location. The construction would be at no cost to me. Well after that time passed I called back and was told that the location would have to be revisited in the summer. The summer came and I called back up and was told that the company was no longer doing any type of construction. After I was told that a co-worker of mine moved into a home and requested service that ended up have to come from 300 +/- foot away. Back to the 2 address above, like I mentioned I spoke with Linda and she had stated that yes both serviceable locations, so we put in an offer on 1 of them. Well we closed on this address and so naturally I called to connect services. When I called to my shock I was told that no services were not available. Now I am in a home that I cannot get services and I was also told that they are no longer doing construction so I asked if we could run the cable line since we are business owners and have a construction crew. The Service Manager told me no because there are permits that are required. I called the Russell County Codes and Inspections Dept and they told me that I do not need a permit to run my own cable line. He then stated that h would have to get with the Construction Manager in reference to possibly getting service. I just called today 09/14/2015 spoke with Kayla and was told that now neither address is available for service even though there is a pedestal out in front of 1 and an empty lot there is cable running out of that pedestal all that it needs is to be connected, but they are saying that it's not a serviceable location. She stated that the last serviceable location is next door and across the street from the house we didn't purchase. I also have a pedestal 100 foot +/- that belongs to CTV of East Alabama. If we would have been told up front that there was no service provided instead of being lied to repeatedly then we would have never even placed an offer on this home because 1 of the main requirements was that we were able to get internet outside of Satellite. I also just got off the phone with AT&T and they just informed me that DSL nor is U-Verse available at this home either, due to no available ports. I just want what I was told I was able to get. I was told cable internet and cable tv were available and now nothing. The sad thing is that CTV of East Alabama is the only cable company out in that area. So I just got off the phone with Mike who is over the service dept and he stated that they will be able to provide me service that my house is just on line where they can provide me service. read more
