We are retired and live on a set income. Even though we had some lower estimates from other companies, we felt so confident with Micha's ideas that, after looking at other reviews/images of this company, we decided to go with Steller Construction. Micha's team was absolutely amazing!!! Ray, our project's lead employee/carpenter, was very knowledgeable, considerate, and had an unbelievable work ethic! The rest of the team, Josh and Kevin, did an awesome job as well. They communicated well throughout the whole job, always checking in with us to make sure they were doing what we wanted. They were professional and very polite every day. At the end of each day, they completely cleaned up the area. We worked with one other construction company and a roofing company when we did some remodeling on our last home, and we did not have good experiences with either company. We were very nervous about having to go through another bad experience. We were so pleasantly surprised that Steller Construction turned out to be a great decision! Our deck/catio is beautiful, and we love it! If you have any construction or remodeling needs, contact Micah at Steller Construction. You will not be disappointed!

Aaron said he would just be waiting for paint to dry and jumped in and did the repairs our last contractor screwed us over on. We appreciate him so much he got a nice tip beyond the contract and we have offered to hire him again for some handyman work. Aaron did our heating and AC ducting under the house - repaired the floor in our master shower and repaired all damage and cracks in a very timely fashion. We must have contacted a dozen contractors and Aaron was one fo the few who actually followed up on his calls, did the job, and was super awesome!

From the initial consultation through to completion, Aleks and team were professional, communicative, and efficient. I want to stress how accessible Aleks was and how easy it made this project, he responded to all of my questions immediately and came up with solutions that worked, a sign of decades of experience. They clearly explained the scope of work, provided a fair and detailed quote, and showed up on time each day. The crew worked quickly but carefully, keeping the site clean and minimizing disruption. They even recommended additional improvements that made sense and would be helpful for us in the long-run. We appreciated how easy they were to work with and how they took the time to answer all of our questions along the way. Aleks' final words were "Let me know if you need anything else, we take care of our clients" and you can tell. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

He seemed like he knew what he was talking about and was friendly. He never sent the quote though gave a verbal price so we agreed on a day for the work which was a pretty major landscape clean up. Completely unreliable and abandoned the job…read more Jake from Jesus Ruiz Construction reached out to come quote our project to have some large laurel hedges completely removed, and because of the good reviews, I accepted. To start, Jake showed up a day later than he said he was to bid on the job. Once I told him where I was at with quotes from other companies, he gave me a price that we accepted. He showed up the day he said he would and chopped it all down. The first thing that was unacceptable to us is that his wife showed up to help with their young TODDLER. He was just walking around our property without supervision. I had a hacksaw in the back yard, and he picked it up by the blade and I had to get it from him because they didn't have eyes on him. At the end of the first day, I was grilling food for my family, and we fed them all dinner just as another thank you for helping. They came back out the next day and cleaned up the rest of the debris and he texted me and said he would be back out with a stump grinder to get the roots out. He brought the grinder, and it wasn't big enough for the job. He then said he was going to just cut the stumps down short, which was not the agreed upon plan, and I told him that he was supposed to remove them. He came back with a buddy the next day, picked up the grinder, said he was going to get other equipment to pull the stumps and that he would be back in 2 days. 2 days came and he was a no show. I messaged him and he said he would be there the next day. Didn't happen again. He said he would be there on Friday (the Fourth of July) to do it and apologized. Friday came and he didn't show up. Through this entire thing, I had to be the one to reach out and communicate with him over and over again. We were understanding and patient with him and he completely abandoned the job. We are now stuck with a bunch of stumps to deal with and our plans for this location are shot for the time being. I will not be using him for anything else I have going on and I do not recommend anyone else trust this guy to complete the work that he starts. Do yourself a favor and find someone else.

He claimed to have fixed the deck support but all he did was place one of our landscaping rocks under one corner which we could have done ourselves. We reached out that night to let him know we were not satisfied with the work and and after some difficult and delayed communications, he did agree come back and make it right. two weeks later he replaced the deck boards again. This time it was done right, as it should have in the first place. We really appreciate his willingness to come back and correct the mistakes. They also…read moredid not respond to any contact attempts on phone, e-mail, or Yelp after the appointment was made. It's been four days now and I haven't heard from them. In all honesty the silence is so deafening I'm hoping no one is hurt or otherwise out of things due to something unfortunate. Looking back I can see that they said the appointment was 'tentative', and that they'd call ahead of time. Fair enough. That bothers me a lot less than the complete silence afterwards. Without any kind of response one way or another I had to assume they were coming, and sit around all day waiting for it to happen. Edit: I was finally contacted six days later and after posting this review. The business owner was very upset because of this review. They claimed I was lying, they threatened me with using slander laws against me. In the interest of full disclosure I will reprint all the relevant details of our communication and you can decide. Regardless, I am within my rights to write a bad review of a business that I feel treated me poorly. Even if I'm wrong. So, good Yelpers, you decide: Me: (Initial request for quote based on work, unnecessary to reprint) Business: Hi Jay, Booked out until next week, but could you provide the service address, for that's how we schedule? (They listed their rates. I won't reprint that because they may change them in the future or for specific jobs) Let us know your thoughts and we'll go from there. Thank you for your time. Me: Next week is fine, (contact info I won't reprint here) Business: Hi Jay, How does Monday between 8:30 and 9 sound? Me: Monday is our daughter's first day of school, so not a great day. Wednesday morning I'm busy. Otherwise the rest of the week is open. Business: We can tentatively set it for Tuesday at 9 Me: That sounds good. Business: Alright, you're in there and this is for the actual work correct? You're list was pretty descriptive and we'll come as prepared as possible less any speciality materials we'd have to go get. Me: (details of the job, not necessary to reprint) Business: Will attempt to call you prior to appointment sir. That was the last time I heard from them until after the review, then: Business: Very extremely rude of you sir to post such false things. Tenative means that we're still deciding if we want your jobs! We have the right to decide what work we take and your projects may not be a fit for us. We never made an agreed time out of respect for YOUR SCHEDULE but we are a business not your personal servant. Business: Very very rude Business: There are also SLANDER LAWS in this state sir. NOT FAIR that you have posted such things Business: We thhink it wise for you to delete the slander upon our company who are not your personal servants but a simple Service that you called for help but your schedule did did not match with the OPTIONS we only had available to you. I believe if you look at my original review and the communication there was not a single falsehood. I mentioned they said "tentative", but I also think their communication implied an appointment. You be the judge. They never refused me service, but honestly that would have been preferable. I never treated them like they were my "servants". I've worked with enough handymen and contractors to know that sometimes jobs aren't a fit. But setting an appointment, even tentatively, then never communicating again is unprofessional, and I will write a review for that.
