I checked my blood pressure on the morning of 12/19/2025 and found it to be 218 over 127. I drove…read moreup to UConn Medical Center, where I had some bloodwork done. I had a minor stroke a while back, so I try to keep an eye on it. They wanted to admit me, but I had to be home to feed my mother and my cats, so I chose to go back home. After I fed my mother and my cats, I was eating when the phone rang. I answered it, and it was a Doctor from John Dempsey Medical Center (UConn). He told me that the results came back from the bloodwork tests, which showed many abnormalities. He told me to return immediately to the hospital as I was having an "acute kidney failure" that could, along with the high blood pressure, cause a major heart attack. He said I needed to be admitted as soon as possible. As soon as I finished my supper, I hopped into the car and drove back to the hospital, and signed in again. The blood pressure was up over 200 again, so I waited in the waiting room until they could find a bed. I have very bad discs in my lower back. I have passed out from the pain because of them. After more than an hour passed, my back was acting up. I had no choice but to ask when the bed would be available. I was told it would be over 3 hours. I told the lady in the ER that I could not sit up for that length of time because of my back discs. She told me that there are no beds or gurneys available in the entire hospital that I could use while I waited. She told me that if I didn't like it, I could always go home. That is what I did. If I passed out from the pain from my discs, they would have let me stay on the floor for over 3 hours until they found a bed. That is completely unacceptable and unprofessional for any medical facility. John Dempsey is supposed to be a crown jewel as far as medical facilities here in Connecticut, but I found it to be a lump of coal. Needless to write, I won't be going back again. I advise others to find a better place.

U wait months to see an APRN and if they are out for any reason there is no one to cover medication renewal or ur case. No one follows up on scans or anything. U r left hanging in the wind. Despite being in serious pain or having serious conditions u wait for months for an appointment. Then many times I have experienced the provider cancelling my appointment with no follow up. Very poor and disappointing. Patient Relations I called 3 times and no call back. Pretty bad for 2025.

They had no idea what they were talking about (front desk). The manager came out and was super rude in her answer and very vague. I said ok think I will skip that. Then I had to listen to why it benefits people. Um, didn't you hear me I said I was to skip that. No biggie, just not my cup of tea. I was asked if I wanted to schedule another session. I said not at this time. Not 2 days later I received a call and VM that was harshly telling me I need to make my Next appt. Nope, not going back! Train your front desk people. They go through staff quickly. Guess not a good place to work for. No long term employees .

Imagine Float is a total gem! The staff is so kind and friendly. (Especially the owner, Michele…read more She's amazing!) They all really make you feel at home and they truly want what's best for you. I've been struggling with burnout and seriously needed a little relaxation in my life. The staff helped me figure out what services would be best for me. There are loads to choose from. I settled on a float and using BrainTap. (I love to meditate so I thought this one would be fun to try.) Both services were just what I needed! The float helped relieve the tension in my shoulders (from stress and working at a desk all day) and gave me the sort of deep quiet you only get from being truly unplugged. BrainTap felt like I dialed my normal meditation up a notch. I love that it engages both hemispheres of the brain. So cool! I definitely feel more relaxed and plan to go back again. I'm in a season of my life where I need to commit more to myself but I find that hard to do regularly. Imagine Float made it really easy to prioritize myself and I know I need more of that in my life. I've already booked me next float. :) The facilities are clean, quiet, and relaxing. I never felt like I was being rushed to the services or to get out after. The staff offered me a tea menu after and let me sit in the quiet room to hang out for a bit. That extra bit of decompression and transition time was really nice. I so often feel like I am running from one thing to the next and this just stresses me out. It was nice to just sit and enjoy the tranquility. I can't wait to come back for my next float!
