I'm sorry but I cannot recommend this clinic. I just did not receive the care that I needed for my neck problems. I felt like because I did not buy the $2,000 package that they really no longer wanted to do the work. My treatments only lasted 3 to 4 minutes each time and I walked out with no relief. I have since found a really great chiropractor and I'm so happy with him! read more

I'm following up regarding the outstanding claim for my treatment nearly two years ago. When I completed the paperwork, I provided my insurance information and claim number, so this should have been billed to my insurance directly. Despite repeated attempts to resolve this, I still haven't received confirmation that the claim was submitted and processed. Please update me on the status and confirm when the lien will be removed from my settlement. This delay has gone on far too long, and I need this resolved as soon as possible. read more

Mention my name (maiden name) Modern Chiropractic Torrington and your X-rays are free. I've seen different chiropractors over the years that have been fantastic. But all 3 chiropractors here absolutely blow me away! I'm currently in a program here 3 days a week for 3 months. To work on getting my body back in alignment. Over years of beating up my body followed by an accident 2 summers ago, I spent months barely able to get off the floor, let alone walk. My first adjustment here from Dr. Brandon I burst into tears, I fully understand from my years of working with yoga, meditation, trauma work etc, that our body not only holds physical pain but emotional. I felt an emotional and physical release that was so intense. In that moment I knew I had found a place to heal. Every person in this office is absolutely incredible. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Modern is ON point. Dr Smith and his staff operate in a sincere, fluid and disciplined manner. The Xray's and the goals for your objective are clear and concise with a no-nonsense approach to your treatment. Dr. Smith will explain your condition and the means to fix it. In addition, he will educate you in the importance of "taking care of your vertebrae." This education will be forever embedded in your mind as well as the place where you heard it first. You are getting fixed and educated in the same building. It's all about spinal cord care and once you are thoroughly aware of this therapy and you are in agreement with the philosophy then the next step is up to you which means it is ongoing. Dr Smith will keep you up to date with your progress. The staff will answer any questions you have, work with you regarding your appointments and schedule you per your plan. Your diet, lifestyle, health awareness will all fall into place. Dedicated Healing is not done overnight. Like everything else it takes time. The majority of people will feel better after the first or second treatment. Remember, you are the one who walked or staggered in there first. The team did not come looking for you. If you have the opportunity for the traction machine, I would highly recommend it. read more

I was really hesitant to try a chiropractor but finally went in the hopes of resolving a persistent and debilitating headache that was bugging me for over ten years. In the past, I had tried physical therapy, acupuncture, and had countless doctors/tests/prescriptions- all which helped for some time, but didn't find or cure the problem. Modern Chiropractic proved my dad right that posture is important- and that years spent with my nose in a book had caused damage in the curve of my neck. I have definitely had good and bad days since starting my visits, but the doctors are really patient and helpful- and even understanding when a killer bad headache has me crying in the waiting room. I have seen and felt an improvement over all and am hopeful that the headaches might be banished good. The women at the front desk are also awesome- they are friendly and welcoming, and make it a comfortable place where you feel valued. They are also very understanding when it comes to scheduling changes and they have a text service where you can contact them- which I just love as my schedule is never the same. Would definitely recommend this place!! :) read more

Found this place on google and been going for a few weeks now. The staff is so friendly, the doctors are amazing and very knowledgeable. The office is nice ,clean and comfortable. Would recommend this place. read more

This chiro is very unprofessional. They do not put their patients in separate rooms, and everyone watches you get your back realigned. Also, he is a "one size fits all" and everyone gets the same realignment. And you have to pay $60 to sit in on a class with again, other people for a one size fits all stretching session. Go to any other chiro! read more

I was referred to Dr. Smith by my martial arts instructor after I injured myself and had very bad pain in my left groin and quad. I didn't buy into some of the claims of chiropractic adjustments. My wife had some bad experiences at another chiropractor years ago. I admit I was skeptical. But I trusted my martial arts instructor and decided to give it a try. It is true they offer more than just adjustments. They offer nutritional plans, alternative treatments for many issues, and above all, encouragement. I went to Dr. Smith for my groin pain and instead of just fixing that, he and his wife, Donnett, changed my life. I started the nutrition plan shortly after starting adjustments on my spine. In 4 months, I lost 50 lbs. I used to suffer from migraines. I haven't had a migraine since I started seeing him. I also had very bad seasonal allergies. I was miserable in Spring time for about 6 weeks. No more. They are almost gone. I can't say I have zero symptoms but I'm off all allergy medications and I do not dread the Spring anymore. Since starting martial arts, combined with Dr Smith's nutrition plan as well as the benefit of the spinal adjustments, I've lost 75 lbs, 8 inches off my waist, I feel great, and I'm probably in the best shape of my life at 41 years old. Thanks Doc! read more

After calling and telling them my insurance, they told me that my carrier is good there so I went in to talk about my lower back pain. They kept trying to talk to me about my neck once I got there, almost pushing for me to have pain there too. Then they have me stand for an X-ray when I told them I was there for something specific and I have severe pain. They don't attach anything to me to stabilize my spine like any back specialist would, so obviously the X-rays were just to try and use a snapshot of my one-time bad posture to pretend like I have scoliosis. Then they send me home and tell me to come back tomorrow. I come back and it's not even the same doctor. He couldn't seem to care less about my specific pain and tries to jump right into a 3 month, 3 day a week $4,000, general back straightening program. I called him out on it for ignoring every concern and hope that I voiced over both visits. So he told me I don't have to make a decision, he can correct me now and I can think it over. He gives me a general correction that had no focus on my lower back and walks me to the receptionist to book me for THE NEXT DAY. I tell him I'm concerned about the price (as they assured me my carrier was good there but never gave specifics after my first visit.) the chiropractor told me that I had 3 free visits before insurance has me pay. Now I have a $400 bill for two visits(wasn't warned I wouldn't even be looked at the first visit), 2 xrays(fraudulently or negligently done and no idea why it's 2), and a correction (that dealt more to my neck than the actual lower back pain I went for). Not to mention, I now have severe pain in my neck when I move it backwards. So thank you, for lying about my insurance, trying to con me into an expensive back straightening program, ignoring everything I told you about my pain and then causing more pain to a different area of my back. I'll be talking to a lawyer before you get a dime from me. read more

I love going to Modern Chiropractic because I am always greeted by name and with a smile! Two months later I have no pain at all. read more

My wife and I went for back care so I'll start with that: Through Dr. Smith's adjustments, exercises and treatment, my wife doesn't even think about her back anymore after spending almost five years in constant pain and with it often completely going following a car accident. My spine and posture feel as good as they have since high school. When I injured my back on the golf course this fall, Dr. Smith dropped everything and had me in an intensive program going far above and beyond to treat the issue. Instead of needing surgery, I was back at full-strength in a month. But to stop there would be selling Modern Chiropractic short. Through Dr. Smith's incredibly positive attitude and enthusiasm, I was inspired to change my eating habits and stop using my desk job as an excuse to pack on pounds and live an inactive life. I've lost more than 40 pounds, seen an end to the stomach and digestive issues that I was dealing with and I wake up with more energy than I ever thought possible. There isn't a person I know that I wouldn't recommend Dr. Smith and Modern Chiropractic to. read more

I have been a patient under Dr. Smith's care for approximately 7 months. Since beginning care at his office I have seen a number of health improvements through adjustments, changes to nutrition, etc. I have lost over 25 pounds by changing my nutrition based on the recommendations made by Dr. Smith. He does a phenomenal job teaching myself and other patients the principle of Chirorpactic so that the rationale behind the adjustments is thoroughly understood. He genuinely cares about his patients and really takes the time to work with you on whatever health concerns you may be having. Along with weight loss, I also have seen incredible improvements in the function of my immune system, energy and alertness, as well as a significant decrease in the amount of sweating that I experience due to a condition known as hyperhidrosis. This was completely unexpected to see results like this, however it was great because the other options were botox injections, or surgery, both of which are harmful to the body. I've learned a great deal about how the body heals and functions and the health care paradigm that we have fallen in to where we throw drugs and surgery at every health issue we have. The proactive care provided at Dr. Smith's office is what attracted me to his practice. Thanks to Dr. Smith and his wonderful assistant (and wife), Donette, I have made several changes to my approach to health care. I am functioning and feeling better than I have in years and I have them both to thank for that. I would recommend Dr. Smith to anyone and everyone, not only those experiencing back/neck pain but even those who are simply sick and tired of being on medications and being told that drugs are the answer to their health concerns. read more
